There's a special place in my heart for 2nd gen 12 valves. Because of people like you these ol beauties can stay on the road. Keep up the good work ol son.
You did a Hell of a job. They couldn't keep them things on the the showroom floor if they still built them like that. I really enjoyed watching you bring it back to life.
Awesome. My mom bought a 99 24v brand new, extended cab, long bed. She passed 2 years later in 2001 from breast cancer and I ended up having to sell her truck as the estate required it. Same color. Absolutely loved it. I wish I could find it. I’d buy it in a heartbeat... great rebuild!
For sure im 19 turn 20 in 3 days but ive been working on old 1st, 2nd and 3rd gens since i was 16 I do all my oil changes, body work and repair and we make custom straight pipes that are tig welded completely too.
They do have massive transmission problems tho. My 98 dodge dakota V6 3.9L was an automatic and the previous owner was the original owner and he told me it had been rebuilt then replaced then rebuilt then rebuilt again. It had 180k when i got rid of it and it was actually slipping when i sold it. I mean overall i loved it, it was a nice truck. But even on marketplace i saw someone with a 97 ram 1500 with if memory is right had about 230k. Yes thats alot of miles but the thing was is it was a manual transmission and he said he replaced it a few thousand miles ago. I was shocked about that as ive actually never heard of a manual tranny go out.
Man just keep doing what your doing. I love these old 12 valves. I'm getting ready to restore my 94 3500 dually and you give me plenty of ideas and tips evertime I watch one of your videos. Haters are always gonna hate and it's probably because they don't own one cause if they did they wouldn't be haters. Keep it up man.
From Guatemala: what an amazing job! Congrats. I have my father’s ‘88 Toyota Pickup waiting for the perfect time to restore. This video is very educational
I love restoration videos like this. With the prices of trucks these days I foresee a lot of people going this route to restore an older truck than overspend on the same vehicle but new year model only to have it break down because they are now designed that way. I bought a 2014 Ram 1500 in near perfect condition just this year for what I consider a good price. Its the outdoorsman model with all the bells and whistles and most importantly paid off.
The ole girl definitely turned out great. Glad to see another dodge brought back to life. Seeing this series on the truck really makes me want to finally get that 5.9 magnum and 46re out of my truck and get that tried and true 5.9 Cummins and nv4500 swapped. Keep up the great work Sam love watching your videos.
Truck looks good. That is one of the best truck motor combinations dodge ever made nice to see that you took the time to rebuild it and keep it on the road
Phenomenal, so jealous that you have the knowledge and ability to do a project like this. The 12 valve turned out beautiful, wasn't too sure of the color but after seeing the finished project it wasn't too bad.
I am 79 years old and live in Conn. I have a 2002 2nd gen. Dodge with 5.9 V8. I bought it new mainly because I loved the 2nd gen. style. Love to watch video’s like this one as my Dodge is getting where it needs done work due to rust. Great to see you turn an apparent junker into better than new!
Loving the channel Sam! With all this inside time lately, I've been watching some serious hours on the channel and you've convinced me to give my '01 Reg cab a midlife overhaul. My pointers get right fired up barking whenever they see Boon on the flatscreen too 😂
My son and I love the video about the Ram. He's 9yrs old and deeply obsessed with ram trucks. When we saw the video, he was stoked! Immediately subscribed and liked the video and now save in favorite. Good job and god bless! Greetings from Wisconsin. :)
Love the truck man, I really appreciate seeing that people are still trying to revive some of the old dodges, keep up the good work and I hope you have a good day
That is so awesome. I inherited my grandpa's 96 he bought new. 180,000 miles. Not a dent in it. My dad and me been working on it since April 2022, getting closer everyday. I hope we can figure out how to do a video half as good as this. Everything in this video is so familiar. Looks just like all our pictures. Can't wait to get it done. Sanding paint off right now. We have the original box but grandpa put a flatbed on so I kind of like that for now. We are running 5 inch stacks : )

Sorry I didn't read the title of the video . I didn't look closely eather . I thought you guy's were doing what I see to much of some guy destroying a good Dodge truck . I watched your video and to my surprise you were restoring it . Thank you.
Hell ya brother! Just bought a 97 2500 cummins 4x4. Harvesting off my 2000 1500 even the seats from the 2000 to the 97, just gotta take the "bump in front" with the seat. Good call when the driver door works you got a gem baby! Thanks for the motivational video.
I just found your video while surfing in UA-cam looking for these generation Rams, love them!! Your video is really inspirational, letting us see that even a junk car can be brought to live with patience, skills and some money.
hey buddy, good for you! I started out to restore my 1990 short bed D150 4x4, but the cab /body was so rough, I ended up buying an arrow straight 88 and am now swapping entire drive train from the 90 to the 88(including both axles and diffs.WHEW!!} also robbed elect. leather seats and tilt steering wheel out of a Chrysler "Fifth Avenue"/ I"m in way over my head, no building, Just doing it in the field.... BUT watching your build was inspiring and has put helium of hope back in my balloon! I've got a long road in front of me, but like you, I'll never sell it, It's a family member. I'll send you a pic. when It's done. thanks for the Inspiration!. GOOD JOB ON YOUR BUILD!
Man, I'm glad I stumbled onto this channel; every once n awhile the internet makes me smile. My dad had a 1st gen w350 5 speed that he used to tow his drag car with (64 Polara with a hemi.) I learned how to drive a stick on that truck and how to back a trailer, your 1st gen content brings back some memories! Fast forward a few years and I bought myself a 95 2500 from a local dentist who towed a travel trailer. Between him and the original owner they have most receipts dating back to 95 when Dodge first warrantied the track bar! She's a little rough right now but I'm having a ball working on it. I have a small tree service business I do on the side so this channel really has everything I could hope for 😂
You just can’t beat them old trucks they get a little touch up and they look awesome you did a great job man I appreciate all the hard work you put into these videos because they’re awesome . Thanks Man
I used to be a Ford guy but I bought a 98 yesterday and I am now a dodge person. I love the truck more than the 97 Jetta I had. When I get the money to redo my truck, I would love to have your help since I am newer to cars but especially new to trucks. Great lookin truck dude, this just proves that you can do just about anything you put your mind to.
Hell yea. I'm a year late but I'm working on a dodge 1500 single cab. Going to try to restore it. Your video is helpful and a way for me to start on my project. Thank and keep them up.
That truck fits really well where I came,PROVINCE OF BENGUET-BAGUIO CITY,HALSEMA HIGHWAY that beast can be well used by hauling tons of vegetables mainly potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and cabbages.Thumbs up to you Pal for restoring that handsome pick-up.
Was just gifted a ‘95 3500. Don’t have nearly the mechanical ability y’all do but I’m about to start a resto on it as well so that I have a dedicated rig for my camper. Thanks for the encouragement/inspiration lol
I love that truck! A recent misfortune killed my 1500 with the 5.7, and I decided to take the jump to a 4th Gen 2500 with a 6.7 Cummins. She needs some work, but videos like this make me excited to get to work!
Badass truck man.. phenomenal job, I'm currently doing an overhaul on my daily, 03 2500 cummins, has the HO motor, 6spd nv5600, Laramie with the 8ft bed, power everything. Truck was my dream truck also my first, and little by little I'm getting her back to her former glory like you did with this beauty..
I have the same truck mine is a 97 Dodge ram 1500 but your truck is so awesome I love that truck I've always been a big fan of Dodge thanks to my father and you inspired me to get my Dodge all fixed up keep making more videos of that beautiful truck of yours
Been subscribed to your channel for probably a year and just found this video. This is my favorite truck you’ve built. I have everything but love the old 12 valves!
I have a duramax and I’m a diehard Chevy guy. But man I love those manual transmission Cummins trucks. You did a great job resurrecting that truck. It deserved to be brought back to life. Keep up the good work brother!
My husband loves what this guy dose he watches all his videos lol . He has a 2001 Cummins that is in bad shape that he’s been trying to fix up which Is hard for him to do with all the kids an the money it cost . we have a lot of memories in that truck bringing our kids home from the hospital after being born which is why I think he will never get rid of it ! Vbelts vids are a big help to him .
I'm a diehard dodge fan and to see this restoration makes me want to start work on mine soon if ur curious I have a 94 ram 1500 I wanna completely redo. Thank yall for such a good video
Great job! You make it all look so easy. That’s exactly what my 98 1500 needs.. a rebuild. Engine great transmission great. I just looks like crap and I need a few suspension things and exhaust. Very inspiring
Good job 👍 I was working in junkyard before and i have background about this work it's good feeling when you finish the restoration of any car specially the pickup truck.. i used to restore landcruise pickup's... i enjoy in the middle of work but the finish is another feeling... good for you boys and good luck... ❤️❤️
Looks great! I just bout a 1994 dodge 2500 single cab, 5 speed, 4x4, 12 valve! I got a smoking deal on it and am about to start the restoration on it! Runs great no blow by, shifts great, 4x4 works! All it really needs is cosmetic…

I’m glad the algorithm put this video in my recommended section
Same
Agreed with you there
I’m into Chevys and a bit of dodge. But that 2nd gen looks like it rolled off the assembly line. You did a good job with that truck man.
Same here I love my chevys but that is a good lookin dodge
But at least it starts
I’m in to Chevy’s to but Laramie is a pease of crap.
That’s not a second gen

Them old 12 valves are damn good engines
Ford early 7.3 another good stout engine 24 valve Cummings is definitely good for fuel economy
You did a Hell of a job. They couldn't keep them things on the the showroom floor if they still built them like that. I really enjoyed watching you bring it back to life.
I'm more of a ford guy but a manual 12 valve Cummins any year is worth saving in my book
I’m also a ford guy but I’d always buy a old 12 valve Cummins and put a 5 inch straight pipe on it
Too bad fords suck

This makes me miss my 97. Shouldn’t have sold that one. I love these dodges. You can beat the crap out of them and they won’t die.
When things were built to last, now they keep breaking down so you're forced to keep replacing them every 3 years
Amen
Still have my ‘97. 280k miles on a 5.2 with nothing but routine maintenance. Only casualty over the years? My dash. Lol.
They do have massive transmission problems tho. My 98 dodge dakota V6 3.9L was an automatic and the previous owner was the original owner and he told me it had been rebuilt then replaced then rebuilt then rebuilt again. This was a great time period for pickups, before they became fashion statements. All 3 had great trucks!

Love the truck, she is a beauty.
Thank you!!
Nice job! Gives me some inspiration! I rescued a 96 that needed a little lovin! It's a work in progress. I hope mine turns out even 1/4 as nice as yours! Best wishes!
Never owned a 12v, but my 02 24v is a beast. I love every bit of it. After seeing this I will paint it now.
I love the color, it’s the same as my 24V, as soon as I’m back from my deployment I’m gonna finish my old dodge! Good work! Love the vids 🤙🏼
Man I am so impressed with how great of a job you did to restore that Dodge Ram Truck. All I could say while watching the transformation of the truck was wow, wow, wow. Keep up the great work.
