I really hope you all enjoy the Power Wagon Rescue!! 😃 I wanted to give a bit more background. I was told the truck was purchased from a neighbor. He was asked to drive it over and park it in, what was then, the front yard. We found some pieces of an old For Sale sign that coincide with this. With nearly 100 other vehicles on this property (including the Galaxie XL), I suppose one could justify not driving it again. Many of the dents, not from current tree growth, appear to be from being hit while logging the land in the past. Sadly easy to get to items (bumper, radiator, tailgate) have been picked off by passerby’s. We’re really excited for this one and to take it to the next step! Definitely need to do some trailing!

Hello From Kentucky. Back when I started at the equipment repair facility with the highway department in 1991, The crew that sprayed the highway right of way had two of the 3/4 ton Dodge Power Wagons that would go anywhere I believe. I know those trucks had V8 engines and I believe the 4 speed manual transmissions as well as the 4wd shifter next to the gearshift. Those were the days before the 4wd trucks were so plentiful in which the vast majority of the pickup trucks were the 1/2 ton 2wd Dodge trucks with the Slant 6 inline engines and mostly automatic transmissions although we did have a few with the 4 speed transmissions. The government fleet vehicles as a rule were extremely “Plain Jane” with pretty much just the heater and that was pretty much it.

He's had so many of these 4x4 short and regular beds (even today has a 60's 4x4 Dodge panel truck) that he's given grandsons/son (and wishes he hadn't lol). Remember fun times in them (he's the type that made his own trails if you know what I mean) too. My sister was always right there too (they still adventure in the hills now in the Mega cab)! My Dad bought a 1975 when they came out brand new. He loved that truck. We put it threw hell. Hauled shingles that we took off a 3 store building 85 miles just to dump them. We drove it 5 days a week 85 miles and back. Building house's caring lumber. And everything else. I pound of y'all. Please keep up the great work. Stay close. Thanks for the video.

My Dad bought a brand new '75 W-100 SWB Club Cab 440/727. It went everywhere, hauled like a 1 ton. It SHOULDN'T have been able to do the stuff it DID.😊

I fell in love before you cut the first tree. Owned 3 power wagons in my days and miss them all. Mopar head through and through. Mopar tech now retired. Not anything on that truck I do not know like the back of my hand. Thank you for saving her.....She is a mopar so trans fluid check hot idling in neutral, they will show full in park, drop to neitral and it disappears from the stick.

Great video, I felt like I was right there with you, big smile on my face. Love the old chrysler/dodges.
The old 318's and torqueflites are hard to kill, I'm glad it ended up in the right hands to freshen it up, good work guys. Cheers from Australia 👍

That was an awesome Rescue of that Dodge Power 4x4 … to see it run with the nominal amount of work you n your Dad had to do to get it not only running but also Driving… it’s Joyous to see after sitting idle in those Backwoods shame it’s sat there Oh so long I’m sure with some of those Whiskey dents sorted an shine up it’s patina maybe sandblast that pickup floor of rust an give it some paint … bringing it back with new bumpers n tailgate you’d have a going to town Rig … Right there !! 👍👍😎

That's technically what patina is as well. An oxidation layer on a non ferrous metal.

I grew up on the opposite side of South Carolina from y'all - Lowcountry. Growing up we called Dodge trucks of this vintage "pasture trucks" because when they wore out or just stopped working, farmers would just park them in their pastures because they knew they couldn't sell them or trade them in. Woods aren't pastures but I'm getting the same vibe from this one. That being said, you and your dad take the same thorough, methodical and common sense approach to your rescues and I have every idea that you'll get this one in good enough shape that someone will have fun driving it. Looking forward to following along on yet another successful Budget Build.
