Coastal Adventures | Pt. 3: Salmon Fishing on Vancouver Island

- In the summer of 2020, Austin and I spent several weeks completing a tour of British Columbia's beautiful coastline, starting with the Sunshine Coast and then moving on to both the northern and western sides of Vancouver Island before returning to our home in the Fraser Valley. We spent most of our time exploring and fishing new rivers, as well as simply enjoying the truly breathtaking landscapes that our province has to offer. While nothing can ever compare to the true majesty of British Columbia experienced in person, we did our best to capture some of our experiences along the way, and we hope you enjoy.

Truly love your videos, my kind of storytelling. Five stars, you guys! Thank you!
Thanks Keith! So glad you enjoy them ☺️
You guys look very happy!
Beautiful scenery
BC is a stunning place! 😍
wow the drone footage with the school is crazy!!
Yeah, it was super cool to film! It's not every day you get to see something like that 👌
beautifull place❤️
It is magical!
Do you know Chinese small lobster? The one that beautiful lady held was satisfied the size of Chinese spicy small lobster! Very good in the summer with the beer
Whats the name of the river in the very first clip ? Not really looking for fishing spots but looking for some nice calm rivers like that for canoeing
From what we saw the majority of that river is likely too rough for canoeing, we just found a small calm section to fish. All the rivers in this video are located on the west side of top Island. Happy canoeing!
@@AdventuresomeOtters that's awesome I just got here yesterday and plan on taking on Taylor river but that'll be at the end of the month
@@troycharland3298 Awesome, I'd love to know how that goes! Where are you starting from and ending/your planned canoeing distance? How many days? Canoeing trips are the best!
My fishing partner and I were there, too, on the Gold River at Tim's Rock when you were standing on that boulder in your bikini... A real mermaid for sure!
Thank you! ☺️ It's an absolutely gorgeous place to fish!
What month is it for you? I know the season for salmon is very specific would love to know!
Great video just gained a subscriber. Does this river name end with a Y. If so I think I know what river.
Thank you so much! No, the river name doesn't end with a Y. 😉 There are so many beautiful rivers on the Island, eh?
@@AdventuresomeOtters yeah fs 😉
Love your videos. Keep posting. I live in Vancouver Island.
Thank you so much! It takes a lot of time and effort to make these, so it's always very encouraging to receive kind comments like yours. Lucky you, you live in a very beautiful place!
Whats the name of the river?
Good
☺
Pink salmon there are some of the best eating
Yeah, most salmon are pretty delicious! Just have to know the best ways to prepare/cook each species.
@@AdventuresomeOtters I have caught them all in North America in one-year on the fly
@chrisburgess6964 That's awesome! We always talk about getting into fly fishing and even have a couple setups already, but we're gear fishers at heart!
@@AdventuresomeOtters cool I started fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon
🤣
Twiching jig for sockeye?
Can you show me your rigs next time?
You are lucky to have such a beautiful wife!
Thank-you !
☺️
Really nice video. I am also from Vancouver. May the know this fishing spot location?
Thank you! This video was filmed in multiple locations between Campbell River and Port Hardy.
I figured n island. Very nice! Gotta love the gorgeous spots, and beautiful fish!!
@@bpeterssen Absolutely! 😀
Also my question 😂
If you knew the sockeye were closed to retention then why did you keep fishing for them? You should have stopped as soon as you knew they were sockeye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you know what retention means?
@@robbarber7253 Do you know what responsible fishing is?
@@paulshaw5119 Also, I noticed you only showed one fish with the hook in it's mouth. Hmmm. Probably foul hooked the sockeye.
So beautiful places!
Yes, we are lucky to live in a place as beautiful as British Columbia!
Merry Christmas and happy New Year!🎊
BTW nice spot!👍
Thank you, you too! :)
Thia was really enjoyable
I'm so glad to hear that! Thank you 😊
