Thank you very much! Funny you should mention Nanaimo because over the course of the year I have sent applications to the university in Nanaimo, Vancouver Island University. I got conditionally accepted and it is somewhere I’d love to go. So if I end up there next year, I will gladly let you know via email and we can try setting something up! I appreciate the comment a bunch and stay safe!
Thank you so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. We have eaten a lot of the salmon but have not yet smoked it. We are planning on doing that in the future though. And what we have cooked has been absolutely delicious. Best tasting fish alongside the halibut.
Hey Bennett! Awesome video, I really loved the voice over during the intro with the slow-mo scenes. You're really getting better and better at editing these videos. Very beautiful salmon my friend, those fish are strong fighters. It's so awesome seeing it pull the drag while you are reeling it in. I will be posting a video this Wednesday at 7pm, Salmon fishing on Lake Ontario! Same Chinook, just different waters! Great job buddy, you guys caught some nice ones! Edit: I forgot to mention the Halibut, amazing catch man!!
Thank you so much. Salmon and halibut are truly some amazing fish species to target. I'll definitely be looking out for your upcoming Salmon fishing video. I appreciate the comment.
It's my favourite place too. I've worked there. I've harvested everything from Puget Sound king crab to sea cucumbers and gooseneck barnacles there,.. And I caught my two biggest halibut there within 30 minutes of each other - a 77-pounder and a 101-pounder. That halibut you caught looks close to my 77-pounder. Maybe bigger. Not to mention rockfish and yelloweye. I gotta get back there.
Hey man I was in kananaskisk and I ran into your dad and he told me about your channel and it is by far one of the best fishing channels on UA-cam keep it up man
@@thresher818181 Or maybe he loosens drag because it has to be tight to clip into down rigger and when the big salmon run it’ll snap the line if it isn’t looser. He’s been doing it for over 20 years. I wouldn’t question him.
Amazing time on the water! Nice Halibut 🤙🏼
@@canadianhuntnfish Thank you! I really appreciate it!
Can't wait to give you a hard time again Ryan! Great guide and knows where to catch the fish!
Absolutely! I couldn't agree more! He's amazing!

@@Ronsgonefishing This was in July! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I appreciate the comment!
@ 7:20... guide loosens drag... boat still in gear... fish goes for 'massive run'. Guides know how to make em bigger.
