- Motor was hard to start and had blow-by in the radiator. Was leaking coolant as well. Replaced head gasket and re-did timing belt. Water pump, bearings and the valve cover gasket. Starts and runs after the fix!

My 1996 Hijet should be shipping from Japan in a week or two. Looking forward to that project. Hopefully, I'll never need to replace the timing belt (done 30,000 km ago), water pump and head gasket, but thank you for this great video. Very informative. You got a Climber with A/C. I gave up looking when I got a good deal on a 4WD Hijet with HI/LO transfer case but no diff lock and no A/C. Checking out your other mini truck content!

I just bought a 97 hijet and 2 days later it started smelling like antifreeze and there’s a little bit of white smoke when it starts. I’m guessing it’s will need a head gasket sooner than later? Thanks

They will send you fake jewelry in a box & tell you that it's delivered.... None of the items you have paid ever arrives. They tell you to drive to your postal office to look for the packages, then try your neighbors all this is also part of the scam. Please beware my money has been lost but I would like to earn others not to fall for these ads with unbelievably low prices because your right, it's not believable!

What did you torque the head bolts too?
And are the head bolts stretch bolts or can I reuse them ?
We reused them and went to 20 ft lbs
They sell the kits without bolts or nuts so i assume its okay to reuse em
