Absolutely a full rebuild/restoration. It's rare enough and special enough to make it worth it. A zillion of these were sold in Japan so I'd have to guess there are used and aftermarket parts available. Hopefully you could make the huge list and buy them all in the same place so they could ship it all at once so save on shipping a zillion pieces separately. Good luck and I am looking forward to this series!
Full rebuild. Would be really nice to see someone actually make one of these old "will it start" actually look awesome. Good body, nice paint job and maybe some off road looking accessories.
Full rebuild absolutely! I guarantee your awesome rebuilds are what brought most of your subs! I know I’ve been watching since the beginning and I’ve loved them all! Keep up the good work!,
Another UA-camr I follow, Mustie1, has a very similar model. He did extensive work on it which may help you. Go back a couple years on his channel to one about a Mini Truck, Let the Fixin Bigin. Several months later he bought another but it is Chinese made. He did a lot of engine troubleshooting and diagnostics on it which is very helpful if you’re trying to get any three cylinder to work.
Yes, do the build! This is going to be a good set of videos. Looking forward to the transformation. Hoping some more sponsors see the build and jump In on the fun to help support you too.
In my country we still use this trucks for carrying goods around the islands villages through the narrow roads. The liquer stores use them for providing the beach bars with "goods". Basically is a mule. You can also use it as a small campfire truck carrying the basics and sleeping bed after. A jet ski carrier above sounded like a good idea. Anyway the choise is yours. Just build it good so we can all enjoy it through your videos.
Good job getting it running. I respect that you started with that. I've seen one guy that starts with cleaning everything perfect, and starting cosmetics before actually fixing much. I'd say keep fixing before making it pretty.
I hope you go crazy with this one, I didnt realize how cool these could look till the picture of other builds at them end. You would come up with a great build I am sure
Zach, absolutely love your channel man. Love to see how it’s grown and watch all the cool stuff you’ve done over the years. Definitely an inspiration for me to keep getting my hands dirty!
Cmon man, you have to do a full rebuild on this! As far as parts go, there are numerous JDM importers that could probably help- off the top of my head, I think of Mayberry Mini Trucks in Mt. Airy, NC, JDM Imports in Irmo, SC and Tokyo Direct Imports in Durham, NC. They may not sell parts, but may be able to help you source parts.
i can't find much directly from google, but I found that if I searched "kei truck" or some variation of that into google maps it would pull up a ton of small jdm/kei vehicle parts dealers all over the place
Least you got it running it takes some time to figure out what more you need to do. But you will get there . Keep up the good work and never give up. Bro
In Iraq, 06-09 anyway, they were referred to as Bongo Trucks, usually the blue ones were friendly and the white ones were considered.......not friendly. Usually had some sort of roof mounted machine gun or bed full of locals shooting at us. There are a lot of parts scattered around Baghdad and the surrounding cities and towns. "The More You Know"
all of them were called bongos? the Mazda Bongo is essentially this but 1.5x the size and runs on a diesel engine, aside from that there are about six common kei trucks, and another larger one like the Bongo called the TownAce
Another entertaining video.. episode? It's great to watch you take on every project and carry all of the things you've learned/are learning forward. Great work, especially in the middle of Florida summer
I used to have the full van version, it’s a Mitsubishi Jetstar, a gift from my uncle, this sure brings a lot of memories. Thank you!!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Full build? Yes for sure, please!!! 🤙🤙🤙🔥🔥🔥
That kei truck looks awesome. I've been wanting to get one for my daily, albeit a honda acty instead. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it
full rebuild would be awesome!!! challenging but cool. I think it would be great to make like a little off road camper truck, I've seen a few people make slide on campers that you can slide off the back of the truck when you want to use it as a truck but then slide it back on when you want to use it as a camper (typically some removable jack legs that lift the camper off the bed)... could even do more then one like a camping box, a party box, a tool box, a food truck box.... have it like the Swiss army knife of tiny trucks.
A couple of ideas: 1. Seek out as many parts off the shelf/junkyard/motorcycle as possible replacements 2. Make a replacement tailgate yourself or take to a fab shop 3. Make a front bummer - a kangaroo bar and lights might toughen up the look. 4. Interior mods needed or go minimalist as possible. Raptor liner and neoprene covered seats. 5. Does it come with AC? FL is damn hot - plan for a fan or other solution. 6. Make safari doors for it? 7. It needs a headache rack and bed tie downs.
I have a Mitsubishi Mighty Mits here in Southern Cali that is a twin to yours, but mine is only 2WD unfortunately. I got it for free as a guy was throwing it out! All I did to get mine going was very carefully disassemble the carb, clean it out very good, and re-assemble it with the old gaskets. Works great, and no leaks! I have had it here and been using it on my property for more than 15 years now! The fuel pump recently went out, so I replaced it with a cheap little clicky-clack from Amazon. Yes, the parts for this thing are very expensive! Mine also needs a windshield, and it really needs a pair of new front struts. I am betting yours is a 3-speed like mine. I did some research online, and it appears that those transmissions are actually 5-speeds with a blocking plate inside the transmission to keep you from accessing the 4th and 5th gear gates. Anyway, good job getting her running again, and have fun with that 4WD!
Zach, such a great project! Looking forward to seeing more… I agree something like a rebuild would be great… you don’t have to go crazy with it. Repair the damage and repaint as cheaply as possible so that you can still use it for work truck stuff… my 2¢
Half way throughout the video I thought you just wasted a lot of money on this piece of junk but you have proven me wrong. That must have been such a rush to get it running again, amazing work.
100% restore it! like to see some motor work on this channel building the engine idk anything about this particular motor but who doesn't want more power, turbo kit🤷 slick paint job rust repair im down for it and will continue to watch all your videos all the way through no matter what appreciate this channel
When I lived in Virginia I went to Japanese Classics (they sell these things there). In the conversation I had iI was told a lot of Honda parts are available through Honda dealers for there. At one time that company had a parts business but it is not on there website now. In any case they may be a resource for information. The look of yours has grown on me I would renovaste the inside replace the front glass and do rust repair and that might be it
I used to drive that in '89. Marietta, GA county bought some for all maintenance stuff. If you slam on the brakes or downshift too fast, they tip forward on 2 wheels. Good times for this 16 yr old. Haha.
As these are so popular here on the states I’m surprised that some manufacturers for motorcycle parts don’t make adaptor kits for carbs, fuel and water pumps etc. that they could sell more parts they already make, more sales in a different market.
I reckon you get all part from Thailand or India it should be more cheaper and many of them are exactly the same with the Japan one just a lower quality but it’s still good
Oh, and youve painted several vehicles to look rusty. Now you have one that really is rusty. I say embrace the patena. Add the tires and wench and all that stuff, make it run good. Clean up the interior. Make it nice, But keep it looking rusty. Maybe add an old school/hand painted looking sign on the door. You know, like a garage would paint on the side of their work trucks or tow trucks back in the day. But maybe tie in the disney history to it. Like Mickeys Garage, or Disney Wreck and Towing. Something fun..
This looks exciting i love to see stuff restored . I also don't love when people destroy vehicles these things are cool just take care of your stuff don't destroy it like this former owner did
Would be cool if you could turn it into a mini stealth camper somehow. You could tow it like a 4 wheeler to awesome state parks and do some primitive camping out of it deep in the woods!
I'd love to see you try to find what it looked like when Disney owned it and do a rustoration of it to look like an old work truck style but fix all the rust on it so its structural sound and will last for a long time. Think if Tow Mater was a Japanese Mini truck
Was that even a question? Yes full rebuild please and thank you.
nah leave it like that
I agree full rebuild
@@drewmcguinn7994it's steady, revenue generating content for his channel.
These types of "will it start" channels rarely do full rebuilds even when they ask their audience if they should. It's just engagement bait
Full rebuild? Yep!
Nice to get a project that comes with it's own work bench. Looks like fun...

Custom Jet Ski hauler. With ramps to launch built in. Perfect for you never seen it
Full rebuild. Would be really nice to see someone actually make one of these old "will it start" actually look awesome. Good body, nice paint job and maybe some off road looking accessories.
What a fun project, Zach. Whatever direction you go, have a blast with it. Can't wait to see what comes next.
I just subscribed, i want to see this fully rebuild and i believe that you can do it!!!
Full rebuild absolutely! I guarantee your awesome rebuilds are what brought most of your subs! I know I’ve been watching since the beginning and I’ve loved them all! Keep up the good work!,

Issue with him is he never finishes a project.
Yes, do the build! This is going to be a good set of videos. Looking forward to the transformation. Hoping some more sponsors see the build and jump In on the fun to help support you too.

An idea - Yard Truck - better then a lawn mower for moving things. Put hitches on front and back. Push Bumper. Winch. Engine Hoist in bed of truck.
Dude that thing is crazy cool, old 80s minitruck thats lefthand drive? insane
Full rebuild please. That thing is awesome. I would love to see what you could do to it.
Always wanted one of these! Would like to see a full rebuild
Full rebuild would be my vote! That thing is so cool
Zach, absolutely love your channel man. Love to see how it’s grown and watch all the cool stuff you’ve done over the years. Definitely an inspiration for me to keep getting my hands dirty!
Excited for this one.... Total rebuild... This thing is like a collector's item ... Do it right up ... Be amazing little cool truck
Full rebuild would be awsome but don’t burn yourself out your one of the best Chanel’s on here much love from the UK
It would be cool seeing it rebuilt and maybe more power. It’ll be a great little truck any way you decide to go.
Cmon man, you have to do a full rebuild on this! As far as parts go, there are numerous JDM importers that could probably help- off the top of my head, I think of Mayberry Mini Trucks in Mt. Okay, I've wanted one of those trucks forever. You must do a full rebuild.
Oh yes full rebuild. BTW I used high speed Lexan on the windscreen in an experimental plane I built. That would be prefect!
In Iraq, 06-09 anyway, they were referred to as Bongo Trucks, usually the blue ones were friendly and the white ones were considered.......not friendly. WHATEVER you decide will be awesome... can't wait to see more work on this lil' beauty!
Another entertaining video.. episode? It's great to watch you take on every project and carry all of the things you've learned/are learning forward. Great work, especially in the middle of Florida summer
no brainer, full rebuild.
New to the channel, and YES! Full rebuild or custom rebuild. This mini truck deserves a second life!
I used to have the full van version, it’s a Mitsubishi Jetstar, a gift from my uncle, this sure brings a lot of memories. Thank you!!!!🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Full build? Yes for sure, please!!! 🤙🤙🤙🔥🔥🔥
man, talk about keeping me addicted to this channel...love it ..
I really like the flow of your videos different vibe and not boring. Keep up the good work mate.
Awesome little guy! It definitely needs a good restore!
That kei truck looks awesome.
I've been wanting to get one for my daily, albeit a honda acty instead.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it
That front bumper has "CHARACTER" keep it.
Really cool project! Would love to see it with a fancy go fast paint job!
full rebuild would be awesome!!! challenging but cool. Make better than Ryan’s if go this way
Cool full rebuild please... With long 30-45 minute videos! Love the channel
I would love to see more of this little thing!! Thanks for videos!
Definitely, a FULL rebuild would be down right Awesome ‼️
I own a 1993 Daihatsu Mira Walk-Through and love it❗️
A couple of ideas:
1. Seek out as many parts off the shelf/junkyard/motorcycle as possible replacements
2. Make a replacement tailgate yourself or take to a fab shop

I would love to see a full rebuild. They are very cool.

yes full rebuild, love your work and your channel!
Cannot wait for the full mad build of this Zach.
Extremely excited to see a full rebuild.
Zach, such a great project! Looking forward to seeing more… I agree something like a rebuild would be great… you don’t have to go crazy with it. Repair the damage and repaint as cheaply as possible so that you can still use it for work truck stuff… my 2¢
Soo Cool yes clean rebuild !! I’m sure you paint would be killer
Looks like a fun, but work extensive, project Zach!
Half way throughout the video I thought you just wasted a lot of money on this piece of junk but you have proven me wrong. That must have been such a rush to get it running again, amazing work.
This would be awesome to be rebuilt as an overland rig!! With a RTT or some sort of sleeper.. looking forward to the following vids!! 👍
Can't wait to see the paint and body work on this one.
Full rebuild!!! Go for it
Dream project, love those little things (and the little Japanese Mini Vans)

100% restore it! like to see some motor work on this channel building the engine idk anything about this particular motor but who doesn't want more power, turbo kit🤷 slick paint job rust repair im down for it and will continue to watch all your videos all the way through no matter what appreciate this channel
Improvise !!! ... good job. I'm interested in getting one of these trucks. This is why I am so interested in what you are doing.
I love it and I'm hoping one day to pick one of these up myself and make it into a mini RV
Yes, full rebuild/restore please please!
You're absolutely extraordinary in the rebuild department...so rebuild! 😎
When I lived in Virginia I went to Japanese Classics (they sell these things there). In the conversation I had iI was told a lot of Honda parts are available through Honda dealers for there. Great project. Looking forward to watching this transformation. Perhaps no rust effect this time.
I'd like to see a full rebuild. Love the content.
Neat truck, I have a 96 Hijet that runs and drives well. Makes me smile just looking at it.😊
Full rebuild with a cool paint job
I used to drive that in '89. Marietta, GA county bought some for all maintenance stuff. If you slam on the brakes or downshift too fast, they tip forward on 2 wheels. Good times for this 16 yr old. Haha.
"Ultimate rebuilds" is the name....go big or go home I always say....full restore for sure
Go crazy with it!! These trucks are so awesome.
Full rebuild, It’s cool and paint it Blue and power coat the rims. Keep videos coming !!!
Sounds mint with the bike carb.😁
I would have liked to see that original carb in person.
As these are so popular here on the states I’m surprised that some manufacturers for motorcycle parts don’t make adaptor kits for carbs, fuel and water pumps etc. that they could sell more parts they already make, more sales in a different market.
Definitely a full rebuild. And paint it metallic blue !!!
I’m excited about this project. Looks like fun!
I reckon you get all part from Thailand or India it should be more cheaper and many of them are exactly the same with the Japan one just a lower quality but it’s still good
Supercool build! Much more original then a ‘supercar’. 🛠🏆👍
Remember this. Japan made is always repairable not replaceable
Oh, and youve painted several vehicles to look rusty. Now you have one that really is rusty. I say embrace the patena. Add the tires and wench and all that stuff, make it run good. Clean up the interior. Make it nice, But keep it looking rusty.

Yes you should do a full rebuild on it
This looks exciting i love to see stuff restored . I also don't love when people destroy vehicles these things are cool just take care of your stuff don't destroy it like this former owner did
Would recommend running marvels mystery oil through it to help clean up the internals and will run smoother after time of use
Amazing seeing new engine parts in an old banger.
Would be cool if you could turn it into a mini stealth camper somehow. You could tow it like a 4 wheeler to awesome state parks and do some primitive camping out of it deep in the woods!
Full rebuild!!! Lets goo!!!
Both of the inspiration trucks at the end are 🔥
Off frame rebuild! That red one was neat.
A full rebuild would be cool,A chance to bring some life to an unusual find.
Full Build? --- Yes Please
Full rebuild! Could be very cool when done.
Looking forward to this build!
Love these things. Full rebuild would be awesome. True trail monster would be cool t see. V6 ending big tires onto sleeping quarters .the hols bit ?
Yes rebuild it you have the talent
I'd love to see you try to find what it looked like when Disney owned it and do a rustoration of it to look like an old work truck style but fix all the rust on it so its structural sound and will last for a long time. Think if Tow Mater was a Japanese Mini truck
