    deleting the dpf doesn't make it unreliable 😂 if anything it can prolong the engines life making it more reliable.

    Best to buy a pre DPF 2015 to 2016 no fines then. More power and better reliability better fuel economy.

    9 times? Go the 1KD! 12yrs of trouble free running in my '91 "always late in a 2.8" & 15 yrs so far & 312,000 in my '05. I"ll be sticking with the quality built stuff! Cheers

    After a lot of research, I won't be touching my dpf or egr. If the egr is blocked off, it will overheat the gasses in the engine and cause more particulates in the dpf. Removing he dpf will allow the soot to build up in the exhaust

    UK subscriber here, love your videos as recently purchased an 03 Prado so having a lot of preventative maintainance done before turning it into a tourer. Do you have any advice regarding doing a diesel purge? (I have a can of Liqui Moly that I'm about to run through the engine at the weekend). Cheers 👍

    My 2015 Prado is the first fitted with the 1GD-FTV 2.8. Toyota has up-dated the ECU software many times at service. I now know when a burn is taking place, good thing, and have the useless manual burn button fitted, my opinion! I also run a Scangauge which I have set to show percentage full of the DPF. My findings is that the DPF will clear/reduce only if driven under a decent load. On a drive to Queensland towing my caravan I got 1,145 km between burns. Driving without the van up and down the coast the DPF will build up as I think the EGT does not get hot enough, but will show more kilometres between burns compared to around town. To finish-up... I have had no issues with my DPF BUT still worry about it!

      Did yours have the adblue? I can't figure out if adblue has always been a thing with a dpf

    Yes that is OK for places that have long journey times but in Barbados, the longest stretch of road is about 5mins long... So not enough road to get a regeneration going...

    Howsit. Well being from SA driving a 2008 Tuna I've took mine out about 100k km ago and havent had any issues with my Tuna and it's almost on 250k km.

    Anthony, having issues with 2017 Dmax, Dpd light coming on all the time Isuzu did a forced regen , worked good for 40km then same issue plus alot of engine knock under load, isuzu then said engine has been dusted and that low compression in cylinders plus by using electronic tool determined by removing injector 4 was making so no difference, so replaced it, vehicle was better but still engine knock under load. Tested other injectors, where found to be overfilling by between 5 and 10 %. ISUZU basically said because of low compression, engine has done 250000km you will never get a efficient burn. At present still driving mainly does open road driving each day around 300km, put into 5th gear set cruise control to 2000 rpm and seems to run smooth , Number of dfd burns has decreased , driving home the other night in the rain, vehicle ran a lot better with cooler air vehicle as a snorkel. So far isuxu have bill me $4000 and told me to get a new engine. ANTHONY chasing some options, what could be causing engine knock under load blocked dfd or egr cheers Jim

    Anything that a DPF captures, get burnt off, so it ends to being exhausted anyway. Potentially even worse gas's because its burnt off at higher temps into the atmosphere. With a dpf delete, the particles stay bigger and fall to the ground.

      Injected diesel vehicles have microscopic particles and worse for lung adhesion that old diesel systems. As replied before your comments are lacking knowledge

      That’s not right.
      These bigger particles float in the air for you, your kids, your grandkids to inhale particularly in cities.
      In fact the DPF burns off soot resulting in ash.
      This is why ash is what will build up in the DPF long term and every 150,000 to 200,000 klms (less in city driving) they will need to be professionally cleaned.
      DIY on this particular job and you will be doing it again really soon.
      I know of Western filters that have this equipment and one in Brisbane at Rocklea.
      These places then test the filters to prove it has been cleaned to specs.
      I think $600-$500 plus freight.
      Cheaper than $3000 plus for a new filter.
      About 97% of existing filters are suitable to reuse.

    LOL, the engine takes the focus off your face!
    I clogged my 16' Hilux DPF at 120K due to the bad mapping that came out with the car. I knew there was a problem after I came back from a 8000K high speed trip towing a 2 ton boat. The car had much more power as I had burnt off all crap the in the pipe! Replaced under warranty - perhaps avoid mineral oils in these new diesels...wink wink.

    Why is this even a conversation, deleting a DPF is 100% illegal and you as a shop would get massive fines for doing so.
    The diesel industry needs a good kick in the arse to stop promoting these illegal mods. Same goes for the EGR system. (Yes I know you said not to do it in the video, it was a general statement not targeted at you)

      cut out the internals of the dpf and put a strait through pipe and reconnect it back up and you wont know then if somebody buys it if you sell it they prob wont know jack about it

    Toyota has had massive law suits against them for poor quality dpf units. On a global scale. Do some research mate.

      What’s the difference between a lawsuit and a massive lawsuit you sure the DPF units poor quality are you sure about that or is that just what they called a lawsuit because They had to call it something and they don’t really know what the problem is what exactly is a global scale

    What about when you are in the middle of the paddock and the dog does a burn, they get that hot they catch grass on fire, best thing is to remove them

    Soon we will be forced to pay hefty carbon tax for all ICE powered vehicles. Imagine what the fines will be for anyone caught with deleted DPF? If you don’t want it save yourself headaches and just buy a model without it.

      already done it, here is some tips for u 3 bolts on the turbo to manifold flange, pull the 5th injector plate off and move it to the side, turbo will sit in place, bracket under the dpf that you get through the wheel arch, and another bracket on the back of the dpf that bolts to head
