@@Averroes_417 His coach has had a couple other athletes banned for EPO use in the last few years, and was literally found with syringes of EPO in his bag. Bit of a red flag if you ask me.
Can we all talk abaut Makhloufi,,,he's the most consistent middle distance runner I have seen,,,been winning medals in every championship he competes in be it 800 or 1500m. Kudos
Yeah in 5000 and 10000 it's not bad because they really do have to pace themselves and they run quite fast for the whole race anyway. But 800 and 1500 they can run so slow at the start and it's only 2-4 laps all up, like they will run slower at the start of an 800 or 1500 race then they do in a 5000 or 10000 race it's weird, like the 400m and 200m athletes might as well have a go at it if they can just survive the first lap or two.
Along with Beatrice Chepkoech's victory, I think this was the most deserved gold of Doha. Neither had won a global title before this, but this year they were head and shoulders above the rest and just went for it in the finals. So deserved!
Cheryout was the most dominant male athlete in his event for the whole 2019 season. Just one loss, in his season opening, then crush the rest of the world for the rest of the season and crownd it with a dominant world Championchip gold.
This race makes me smile each time i watch it he was too confident, this is how racing should be than people being so tactful going too slow at the start then splint at last , its sad no Olympics this year
Awesome race! Blew them from the start! He tried it last weekend too and Jakob showed him how to be faster and stronger! Do t see Jakob losing to Cheruiyot anymore!
Can they never host an athletics championship in the middle East. No fans. Take a look at 2017 u18 championship in Kenya. The stadium was packed for u18 championship.
At least the long distance races were in the spotlight for once. But comparing to to Kenya is on the other end of the spectrum - they live for athletics.
If this race was not on the same level as Filbert Bayi in the 1974 Commonwealth Games, it wasn’t too far from it. Outstanding display of front running.
Every racer has to decide what's best for them. Some are better finishers, some have better endurance, also fitness varies race by race because they are human.
If you are a true runner your heart must be pumping faster by just watching this video like you are in the race. In my high school years I have run track and field and cross country for Nathan Hale high School in Seattle Washington from 1996-2000.😂😂😂😂
Timothy learn the lesson from what happened to the Kenyans kiprop & kiplagat in London & Rio when they run slow races vs Algerian Makhloufi .. if they run like him they could easily won Gold in last 2 Olympics Games
3.29 plus change is a serious time for a final at the world's.....I compare this to the Jacob counter of Cheruiyot at the Olympics.....Hicham El G would be proud...
As a Norwegian, it hurts to see Jakob getting so close to the podium, but not medalling. But we must not forget how insane this is for a 19-year-old. 4th in the 1500m, and 5th in the 5000m. This has never happened before, and I'm sure Jakob got allot of valuable experience from these championships. The line-up for this final was rather surprising. So many great runners did not make it to the final: Musagala, Souleiman, Filip, Tefera, George Manangoi, Iguider, McSweyn. Grice didn't even compete in Doha, despite him having a great SB of 3:30.62. If anyone would have shown me/told me this final's lineup before the Championships I don't think I would've believed them. (I also found it a bit weird that Centrowitz did not compete in the 5000m despite him running a great 13:00.39 earlier in the season)
Yeah, he likely would have won the US trials at 5000m. He may have even been able to medal, the 5000m race at this championships would have played right into his hands.
Wow couldnt belive Jakob Ingebersten is 18. Now he is nailing every race. Interestingly i watch his race few month ago i think it was 1500 when he broke world record. I knew this guy was special. Now no one comes near him
Gives you and idea how fast that was when the USA qualified at home almost 15 seconds slower. Both Engels and Centrowitz ran 10 -12 seconds faster than the qualifier and still finished well off the podium. Engels grabs Cheruiyot's hand at the end and Cheruiyot thinks he's gonna pull him up. Engels just walks away. Not thinking.
I wonder what happened to Kwemoi. He ran an incredible 3:28.81 while still a junior, so you would think he would be "the next big thing". And while he's still fast, he hasn't improven his PB from 2014. Some runner peak early, maybe that's the case for him. I hope he comes back running fast times, I think the upcoming years in the 1500m are gonna be extremely competitive, with some ridiculous times.
I just figured it was the usual Kenyan team tactics. Kwemoi wasn't in 3:28 shape himself this year but likely sacrificed his own chances to give Cheruiyot someone to run with for the first 800. Then Cheruiyot could take the second half on alone as Kwemoi faded.
Best performance of entire championships. Timothy completely bossed it.
