Love the fact that Cram was doing the commentary for this race for the BBC and that his Dad , Geoff was the stadium announcer. Who would have thought that Europeans would have filled the first five places as well.
That wasn't Cram on commentary. It was Rob Walker.
@@jamie.lennon1 yes, read my comment again. “ Cram did the commentary for the BBC” which he did. I am well aware that it’s not him actually commentating on this replay of the race.
@@darrenshaw767 Gotcha 👍
@@darrenshaw767 this was probably the red button commentary on the BBC and sometimes radio and for other ,
@@redd605 more than likely
I remember this so well, I screamed the lad all the way to the finish. Wonderful stuff and so richly deserved!
Eye RE-MembEr!
Amazing how the race was won with 200m to go. Jake got to the bend first and that half-a-stride advantage stayed the same the whole way to the finish.
HE stole ThE SHOW
I'm just gonna like your comment cause you took time off real life to write that absolutely unnecessary praise on the internet
You can tell Wrightman isn't used to winning because he was holding the flag wrong at 7:30, and the lady had to help him fix it!
Wow, what a race. These guys were moving so fast!
Every dog has his day A dream of every distance runner The day you run the perfect race and win You made all sons of Scotland proud
Gutsy run by Wightman. Will be interesting to see how Yared Nuguse enters the mix this year.
Road to budapest 23
Dont forget cole hocker
@@yankaitan8648 not even in the same sentence as the others
I think there are a lot of new notable guys this year. Nuguse for sure will challenge for a medal, he was 3rd in that dream of a 1500m in Oslo. I don’t think we can quite count Hocker out, he has really come into form. It’ll be interesting to see if the college athlete will hit the standard to go to worlds given he had such a solid showing at USAs. The only thing just about everyone will agree on is that Ingebrigtsen is the heavy favorite
Ran a 3:43 mile lol
Why do you upload this like a year after it happened
he fooled everybody
It was a great race! Its always fun to watch good races.
Because great races and exciting moments are always worth watching again.
Sounds like you’ve never experienced a winning moment to have such a negative take…
Better late then never. Is there another link of this race?
I also want to know. I couldn’t find a video of the women’s 400mh race anywhere and the race was absolutely legendary and record-breaking. If they want to grow the sport (which they claim to) then they should do far more to promote it online by posting full races right after they happen, instead of many months. They should also show more behind-the-scenes footage.
What a field 💥
Thanks for not disclosing the result on title/description
And watch out for Kerr, he's got the shades!
History repeats itself 🇬🇧
He was sick
@@RUNISFAST Jakob always with the excuses
why cant they post all the times like ussual????amazing!!!!
Who's watching after Josh Kerr's win?
💗how the presenter hugged Wightman😌
Nice one but where are the replays?
Jake´s running form is picture perfect
like best mid distance stride with Wilson Kipketer 800m GOAT
David Rudisha would like a word
His form really is something
Nobody fell off. It was balls out all the way in a sub 3:30 race.
I'm still remember this 😂❤
Never get tired of watching this. A very special moment for the Whiteman family.
No timing clock at all there. Didn't even see the time. Hard to believe how poor the coverage can be
Why does Scotland have world championship runners both in the female and Male categories Scotland what a country!!!
Mcsweyn needs some tactical help. Trying to run the outside of lane 2 around a turn to get into a spot that didn’t help him at all and then slowly fall back is step 1 of how to not race at champs. You might as well give everyone in front of you a 5 meter head start, at that level you can’t do that. 2 of the 3 medalists started the race at the very back and then gradually moved through the pack. No wasted movements. Not swinging out to the outside of lane 2 on a turn. Reminds me of Johnny Gregorek at USA’s a couple years ago. Slower paced race but Johnny spent a lot of time in lanes 2 and 3 and fighting for positions that didn’t matter
To the last place runner...You made it to the World finals. Crowd was still cheering.
Thats the last time jakob loses, he needed this to find more fire 🔥
This comment didn’t hold up well. 😂

Homie has 1:43 speed. You don’t want that mf anywhere near you with 200 to go. Perfect race - glorious W
"You can differentiate between the two Kenyans bcoz Cheruiyot has very distinctive forward lean". That's the D humour right there
incredible
Good to see Jakob be humbled a bit
He portrays a boastful personality, from my perspective
@@chibwemasamo6750 it’s crazy how he acts considering I’ve seen people with far more accomplishments be respectful
@@johannsebastianbach1649 at 22 years of age ?
bro jakob is a humble person wtfdym??
When has Jakob been disrespectful?
SO annyoing that the on-screen clock isn't turn on before around 600m!
Go Jake Wightman
Crazy that the top 5 in this race were all European
we are coming back
Did not even know these games were on.
Why would the announcer say something like that about the two Kenyan runners?
omg.. you see that the unofficial results shows Kerr at 1st.. and they dropped of the clock off the screen so you couldn't watch the time..here the announcer is saying Jake Wightman with the performance of his life and the tv result board showed Kerr..wtf.
Le jode perder al noruego pero mantiene el tipo; ademas es un valiente.
Jake deserved that one but I don't every see him beating Jakob again.
i think Jacob will move upto 5000 permanently he just doesnt have the sprint in the last 100
"You can differentiate between the two kenians because..." C'mon, really?
They all look the same though lol
true, its due to geography @@cashmoney8672
Ingebrigtsen spent the early part of his career losing to a Kenyan before winning the 1500m at the Olympics, but I never thought I’d see Ingebrigtsen lose to a Wightman 😂
Jakob f**ked when he was distracted around 150metres
Huh??? He got beat! He wasn't out there thinking about what he was going to have for dinner!!! He was racing
I am sure Jacob let him to win)
This is not going to happen 2024 🎉🎉Jakob is Winning this time

It s seems that lot of runners can nowdays run sub 3 30 easily not like in.the past when it was few.

Hicham el Gerouj
Not even tryna be funny but the caption had me puzzled for a second.
At 6:00 it says Kerr wins lol
to commentator, Olympic Gold is much higher than World Gold
it’s really not tho. it’s all the same people competing. getting gold in the 1500 at the olympics is just as hard as getting the gold in the 1500 at worlds
@@trevorturner8037 not true.
@@mathematics5573 give me an example how it is any harder. also the 1500m record in worlds is faster than the olympic 1500m record😂
@@mathematics5573 the only thing you can say is that the olympics is more known because it’s not only track & field. that doesn’t make it any more impressive winning
@@trevorturner8037 Olympics has more history and more prestige. It is a psychological thing. It is less often than the worlds. it is more special. Surprised you do not know this.
Not be critical Jakob portrays a boastful personality

♥️🏃♂️♥️
Have WR 3:26.00 ?
You can see Jakob's disappointment. This will never happen again.
He was definitely disappointed, and probably angry too. But it shows a lot that he congratulated Wightman at the end. Even in defeat, he showed some class. He talks a big game, but he only does so when he can back it up. He’s been backing it up this season
@@benanastasoff8980 You're right. I can't wait for the world championship. 1500 and 5000 is going to be insane. If Jakob decides to run both, it's going to be very challenging to win two gold medals. Aregawi, Kejelcha, Kiplimo, Cheptegei are definitely in the game for gold.
This didn't age well...
Aged like milk
I'm glad he lost considering the way he ran semi final. He's cocky. He needs to humble himself
what a showing off. little star...

Er 3:28.32 Ingebritsen OG tokyo 2021
Who came back after jokab loses again in 2023
Commentatore alla TV italiana agli Europei l'anno scorso: se la metti sul piano della resistenza vince lui, se la metti sullo scatto vince ancora lui. E come fai a batterlo?
i never expect dudes with muscles to have treble voice
When the commentator says Jake “legitimately” cut Ingebritsen up, I’m wondering what the rule on that is. It didn’t look legitimate to me and it definitely affected Ingebritsen’s race….though he still had the opportunity to pass him all down the home straight.

So sexist to call the MEN’s 1500 as blue ribboned but not the women’s. It’s quite shameful really
Blue ribband signifies the challenging nature of the event. The true blue ribbands is probably 100m as it's the most popular. The 1500 meters is blue ribband because of the "4 minutes mile". It's just more popular due to it being able to attract wide audience and the historical significance. Women volleyball are more popular than male volleyball in Asia. It's not because it's sexist. It's popularity.
There are no men rhythmic gymnastics and artistic swimming. If Olympic is sexist, it's towards men not women
