    Have you ever noticed how whenever you have a big task to do - a paper to write, a project to finish, a video to edit that you find yourself doing everything but?
    I’ll be the first to admit that when I find myself doing laundry that I’ve been putting off all week, looking up random tutorials on UA-cam for how to play the harmonica (I don’t even own a harmonica) or taking another Harry Potter quiz that tells me what house I’m in based on my favorite dessert, it’s a sure sign that I’m in full-on procrastination mode.
    I know intellectually it’s a waste of time but sometimes it’s hard to get myself to take action and overcome the desire to procrastinate.
    Even in college, the only papers I procrastinated on were…all of them. Which led to a ton of unnecessary anxiety and stress.
    Even though we all struggle with procrastination on some level, I wanted to make a change.
    I was curious, how do you actually stop procrastinating and get more done with less stress?
    Which led me to The 5 Minute Instagram Cure for Procrastination.
    I stumbled upon this in an interview with Instagram Co-Founder, Kevin Systrom, where he cites it as one of his favorite life hacks for productivity.
    Since I started using it I’ve gotten so much more done, and there’s a simple reason why.
    What this procrastination cure does is 2 things:
    It helps you easily tackle what’s at the heart of why we procrastinate
    It helps you overcome that mental hurdles that lead you to typical-time wasting behaviors like the ones I mentioned above
    With today’s video, I want to help you take back control of your time and get more done, so you can get back to doing what you love.
    Watch it and leave me a comment sharing some of your favorite procrastination hacks.

    Having a daily to-do list helps alot. When you think of something that you need to get done, immediately write it down. Create different lists depending on a timeline in which they need to be completed. I always have a to-do list on a daily basis, even at work. Once you get it on paper, you won't have to think about it, just simply do it.

    @1:35 so true..I began a few years ago to tackle tasks in 15min bites, moving, and charting progress next to that task, written on my notepad. I still procrastinate but now more productive too.

    I am a new subscriber and I would really like if you can help me with something. 2 of my friends are kinda depressed and they never listen my advices. Sometimes, they are jelous because I am a singer and I have a happy life. I try my best to make them happy, but I end up being more stressed and I cry most of the times. I always listen people problems. They feel more relieved after talking to me,but I am feeling so bad inside. It feels like I took their pain and I can't get it out form my body. What should I do? :(

    • @PeakYourMind
      @PeakYourMind  6 років тому +2

      Hey Mara, sounds like your heart is in the right place. You want to help but you walk away feeling more discouraged or drained. It's a tough issue, especially when it's depression and it's your friends. I think the main difference is often when someone is feeling down, and they talk to a friend, that friend just wants to tell them how to change, how to fix it, what they're doing wrong, and they're coming from a good place and they mean well. But sometimes it just takes someone listening, being in it with you, empathizing with what's going on to then be able to come out of it. If these relationships are too toxic for your own well-being and happiness then it might be smart to create some distance. You shouldn't feel guilty for enjoying your life and sharing your gifts. But if you want to help them, I would just lend an ear, listen and encourage them away from self-doubt, lies, insecurity and remind them of what's really true. If you want to get more specific you can DM me and we can figure out that details of what that looks like. Thanks for joining our little community and being open and transparent about what you're going through! :)
