    Will Smith is someone I've looked up to for a while. Not just for his external success of being a grammy award winner and grossing over a billion dollars with his movies but in terms of his mindset, his work ethic and the attitude through which he approaches life.
    At the core of this series is studying success - extracting the habits, practices and beliefs of the most successful people on earth so we apply them towards our own goals and dreams.
    www.peakyourmind.com/5-life-ch...
    There is so much we can learn from Will Smith's wisdom and experience to elevate the way we think, to give us the motivation to become our best and the inspiration share our gifts, talents, passions and purpose at the highest level.
    This inside the mind of Will Smith.

    I think that initially we have to live outside of our comfort zones and focus on living each moment with the big picture in mind. Eventually the comfort zone will either not exist, or encompass anything and everything we could ever fathom doing. Achieving this is when my human experience became a life.

      Hey Addy, I agree. The more you get comfortable with the uncomfortable the more your courage grows to try new things. I don't know if your comfort zone ever disappears, because the less you flex that courage muscles the larger your comfort zone grows, but I do believe that when you practice doing the things that scare you, you're no longer limited by those fears and you get to enjoy doing the things you want, free from it

      +PeakYourMind True! I love hearing from people who recognize the power of perspective! Life is a precious gift, and getting the chance to live each moment to fullest is something I'm so grateful for. I love how your making the most of your voice. After all, what's the point of language if we don't say how we feel? ❤

    Amazing video! I really needed this. I’ve been struggling with the decision to leave home to start college. So many things going through my mind. How will I afford it, where will I live, who will I know..etc.! But I’ve come to find that those are not questions, they are fears. I will overcome them. Thank you for this.

    Great video! Hit the nail on the head! Will Smith is incredibly inspiring and so are you!
    However, just out of curiosity - why distant yourself from people that ''bring you down'' or don't leave the best impact in your life? How about fixing friendships, creating better communications etc.? Nowadays sometimes it feels a lot like ''if I don't like it, I'll run from it.'' It varies, of course, but I hear this one a lot... ''leave your friends, cut down your communications with ''the wrong'' people etc.'' Kinda agree somewhere, but not 100%

    • @PeakYourMind
      @PeakYourMind  6 років тому +4

      Thanks El! Yeah, I'm actually totally with you on that. I'm not a fan of just running from something because it doesn't feel good, or because you don't like it. I believe some of the best things come from pushing through what's difficult. My friend Holly calls it "Doing The Hard Stuff". With friendships or unhealthy relationships, it's totally a case-by-case basis but there's something powerful that happens when you surround yourself with people who encourage and support you and who you do the same for them. It helps you build belief, make each other better. That's often hard to get to if you're constantly around people to take jabs at you or poke holes in your goals.

    I think we all have confronted lesson #3 before as students. That fear you have the night before an exam that you studied for. You'd have all these queations of 'what ifs' - and poof - in the middle of the exam you realise that you are actually doing okay, and that, that fear days before - was pointless and if you had spent less time fearing the outcome you would have achieved more than that 75% and Aced the exam cause all that u read, you have encountered. I think that, should have been a long-term lesson enough for us not to GIVE in to our FEARS.

      PeakYourMind I am! I’m trying to write a play script at the moment with the mindset that it’s an important topic to me and it’s okay not to have everything figured out/perfect at the moment because as long as I’ve got a first draft, I can edit from there :)

    • @PeakYourMind
      @PeakYourMind  6 років тому +2

      Absolutely!! I heard once, maybe Ed Sheeran or someone like that, that says when they write, they write for the wastebasket. Just getting their ideas out, getting the creative juices flowing and instead of judging their ideas, they just focus on creating. Then, like you said, edit from there :)

    I come from a very successful family (intellectually), both my parents and my aunt are university professors who are well known for their work and as much as I thought I wanted the same, the closer I am to achieving it, the more I think that it's not for me and thst I want something different. I am interested in so many things, yoga and nutrition especially, but don't feel confident enough to pursue it, for many reasons - feeling "less" than what my family has achieved, not being able to live up to the standard that I'm used to, etc. Also, I've kind of developed a fear of everything the past few years which is completely unlike me, yes, I have always been picky about when I decide to do something (as in going down the slide, or riding a roller coaster for the first time), but otherwise I want to try as many things as I can. Is there help for me?

    • @PeakYourMind
      @PeakYourMind  6 років тому +1

      Hey Kate, first of all, it's awesome that you know what you want. Sometimes it takes proximity to it, seeing it up close to know for sure. What are your specific fears around nutrition and yoga as a career? I know you mentioned some briefly, but is it the expectations from your parents, the fear that you won't be able to succeed at it, or when you say standard do you mean personal standards or living standard? I get the fear thing. That happens. You're either moving forward or backward with fear. The less you flex your courage, the stronger your fear gets. That's an easy fix but combined with the context of working on building belief in your ability to succeed at your goals, I can see how it would be a bit debilitating. There's always help. The beauty of life is that you never have to stay stuck, you can always find a way to progress and move forward. Let's get clarity on the questions I asked you from above so I can offer more specific advice for you :)

    -fear of people, what they thinking
    -fear of hard work, I can't do it if they can't
    -fear of failure

    Point 2 - What if I don't have any friends?

    • @PeakYourMind
      @PeakYourMind  6 років тому +3

      Hey, regardless of whether you've got a friend group or "tribe", it's about being intentional about who you surround yourself with. Seeking out people who encouage and inspire you and who you can encourage and inspire too. If you don't have a friend group, then you have a fresh start and that's awesome because you don't have to "break up with your friends"
