I have an AVH-X595BT. Only plays MP3 files. for Mpeg4 and MKV, it says unplayable file. I think it's a scam.
The Pioneer AVH-X595BT will playback Audio and properly formatted video from a USB flash drive. You can see the video playback on a similar Pioneer receiver in this video: ua-cam.com/video/C6h7IJ7wpmc/v-deo.html You may need to adjust the max resolution or max frame rate of your video encoder to achieve proper playback on the in-dash receiver.
Be sure to format your USB Thumb Drive as FAT16 or FAT32.

i have a pioneer 3500 nex and my usb reads error?
I think you have the USB drive formatted incorrectly. Please take a look at this video for playing audio and video from a USB drive on Pioneer NEX receivers: ua-cam.com/video/KWaYfYk90IU/v-deo.html After formatting the drive properly if you still have trouble, try a couple things. 1. Press the microprocessor reset button. On the AVH-3500NEX you can find the microprocessor reset button behind the detachable face. You can see it here: ua-cam.com/video/ibWu0o2hW24/v-deo.html and 2. Try to use a different USB drive. Please be sure to install the latest firmware for your Pioneer AVH-3500NEX. The video still doesn't work
If you want help, you'll need to be a little more specific with your question. What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? Are you seeing an error message on the screen? Do you have the parking brake engaged in an On-Off-On operation? Do you have the USB drive formatted as FAT 32? Can you play music from this USB drive? What format and frame rate of video are you attempting to play?
