This style is going on for decades. One day, ten years ago I met a travelling Italian art student who came to my door
She offered to sell me a rolled up canvas with extremely heavy textured paint , gold leaf and collaged faces with deep
Scratches and expressive marks made by crayons and kitchen implements. Her work reminded me of Leonardo Da Vinci’s with soft mystic eyes and enigmatic and ghost like blending.
I could not help but want to touch it.
She gave me permission and I ran my fingers along the extraordinary features and crackling paintwork. It truly was masterly and I had to have it….How much?
Give to me £300 pounds, she said
I may give you more! May I give you £400
I have it framed and hanging in my Pavilion where everyone can see what a masterpiece of intriguing textural work it is.
These paintings here evoke the very same enigmatic qualities. I love your work❤

I use a projector to show a photo on canvases, explore the size, scale and cropping, then pencil in the most basic points. The rest is me painting photorealism, which could possibly be what he's doing. These works are incredibly beautiful and thoughtful!
