Shawn, as always, your Sunday inspiration "hits me right where I live"!! I have made it a point, when at Sunday Mass, to really hold onto a person's hand until they make eye contact with me, and then I say something like, "Have a great week-end, or I hope you have a wonderful evening, etc......" rather than just saying the perfunctory, "Peace be with you".......no eye contact, barely a hand shake.......makes me so sad!! People look rather startled....and they react.....positively for the most part!! I do the same thing as you do, Shawn, when checking out at a store; I always ask, "And how is the world treating you today?" And then calling them by name.......I remember doing that once, the checker asked, "Do I know you? How do you know my name?" I said simply, "I read your name badge"........ It really is the little things that connect us.......and it probably makes ME feel better than the person I'm connecting with!! I remember my Dad quoting a saying, ".....if there is any kindness I can do, let me not hesitate, for I shall not pass this way again." Powerful stuff from you, Shawn, and my Dad!! May your Sunday be blessed..........
Thank you Shawn...great piece and great word. I have owned my store for 33 years and it means so much to people to be greeted and acknowledged when they walk in the door. That is lost now in retail or even customer service anywhere. Customers or "people" just aren't valued in this world of technology! So sad! Thanks for sharing your love and life with us.
You are absolutely right about that. We are all in this world together and kindness goes A long way. And the connections that can be made in an instant could be just what we need. There's always A message we can receive or give. Enjoy your soulful Sunday Shawn🤗
I love this piece. As I looked at how you framed the saying from the Ephemera it looks just like a rear-view mirror. the way we grow is not to look back but keep growing and through kindness is wonderful way to live our lives. I agree no one connects anymore too busy looking at their phones. I do say good morning to people no matter if they are strangers and I do feel the difference in side. Thank you for my art pause and making our lives better by your talent and inspiration on how we have to change our word with kindness.
I love the way your canvas turned out. You always use so many items in your art, it is amazing to me. I enjoyed this video very much. I agree with you about kindness and common courtesy. For some reason no one is taught to be that way anymore. One of my pet peeves is when I say thank you and the other person says "no problem". I would love to tell them that the proper response is you're welcome, but I don't. I don't think it would matter. The world sure is a different place than it was when I was younger.
Right on the money, Shawn. I always try and acknowledge the persons name at check out. So many times I can see in that persons eyes or smile that they have been noticed and it makes a difference. You are loved, Shawn❣
I love your style and the result of this canvas. I agree with the “being invisible “. We should always try to be engaging to others. A smile, a kind word...kindness is free and it does matter♥️. Thanks for this awesome work of art♥️♥️
Lovely piece and sentiment as always! May I ask a question you've probably answered a million times ... what's the purpose of the directional arrows on the board?
I really love your process and teaching style. I have a question. I always see stencils in videos that are not clean. Am I wasting time cleaning paint, ink off each time I use them? I understand I have to remove paste but I spend so much time cleaning it's so laborious. I'd love to let my stencils get covered in colors and not sweat it. Is that ok? Or will it ruin the stencils I've spent so much money on.😊
You will need to clean them eventually. Because the paint builds up and you lose a clean edge. But i onky clean mine once every couple of months. I gather them together put them in the sink with hot water and dawn dish soap ket them soak and the paint comes right off. I guess its a personal chouce. Thanks for watching!
Will you be doing a live spot this week in our group ?? Do you attend Creativation? It's in Phoenix again in 2020. Have you ever thought about a hands on workshop with your viewers ??
SO PRETTY !! But the music is ANNOYING , I had to mute it, Thanks for sharing your gift with us. Thanks also for the lovely tag that you sent with my recent order. I am a follower of your work and look forward to your next video.
