Gearing is so low in the GD, I wouldn't shift to first. Even in my Golf where 2nd goes to 75mph, I keep it in 2nd. More time wasted shifting and focusing on shifting than keeping speed up. That being said, you had great improvement over the 4 runs. Looked smoother. Just gotta look ahead more to setup cones better. Wish I still had my GD for AutoX.
Great video series on the Fit. I can't get over how supportive your gf/partner is! Hold on to her. She's a rare one. Thanks for the videos. I'm looking at Fits so maybe I'll get to autocross it one day. Later, bro.
we need cars like this again. Cheap, fun, reliable, and can live with daily. Nothing like this exist anymore brand new. The closest thing I would say is the FL1 Civic Sport with 2.0 NA and manual.
My Fits stock but watch channel from time to time, GD3 like yours. 100% full suspension route like yours is better way to do it but i found decent balance sticking with all seasons in rear, summer up front, tire pressures with annoyingly unadjustable alignment 34-35F and higher in rear by 2-3 PSI actually works nicely. Car still ends up understeer baised, but you can kick out tail intentionally during braking if need be, or alternatively if more gentle transition on corner entry you can simply cut out a lot of under steer. Wasn't sure how well staggered tire setup would fair but i can totally recommend it now that i've given it some more time.
Love to see Fit drivers get out there, it's a great car to develop driver skill in.
