Don't be afraid to get close to cones, you have to visualize clipping points where your front wheels will be merely an inch away from the cone and the least input of the wheel possible to get to that point.
Glad to see you are having fun with your BRZ. Racing the car in autocross or at any other venue requires practice, practice, practice. It's just like playing any other sport like tennis, golf, soccer, etc., you need to train your body to react to what's going on without you thinking about it. Learn the line, this is the fastest way around the course. Try not to be too aggressive as you will only learn bad habits. Mostly keep having fun and you will get better.
1st instructor was useless. 2nd was better. The instructor who drove was good. Steve's run was a good example of looking ahead. That's probably the hardest thing to do. Talk to yourself during your runs. That helps me on course. Walk the course as many times as your can. Walk with experienced drivers. It's addictive and super fun. Have fun. Any questions, hit me up.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. If you are ever looking to attend another event, we would love for you to come to our next Motosports event at Summit Point - an event supporting veterans with PTSD.
I just sold it :/. I have a S60R now though. Will be autoxing that. Still waiting for wheels and tires, so hopefully in time for the NNJR event 2 on the 28th -Hansen
this is a sort of test you all should have with all the cars in the group. a s60r would perform good here, not sure about the v70r though. Would be interesting to see how each car performs though lol
Yep, I was right. Nicholas Barbato, 2nd instructor. Hope you paid attention to him. One of the best in the country. @Forcednduckshn
I’ve been re reviewing the clips. Hopefully I’ll retain it for the 28th!

Might want to mic up the instructors next time, but overall this was a really fascinating video. You take instruction very well

If you're not hitting cones your first few Autocrosses, you're not getting close enough.
Best episode yet. I'm not building a spec car. I just want to see your journey in the auto cross world. I'm hoping to start doing more soon.
What was yellow s2k bro's time?? That was a quick lap. What a car!
36 seconds
Best beginners' video! Great job. Thanks for sharing.

I got smoked by a stock 2018 accord in my turbo integra gsr lol. Time wise
I saw an elantra N absolutely dominating at the last one I went to. That man could DRIVE
Why don’t they just have some sort of temporary paint that tells you where to go ?
Sometimes they do. But you just get used to the cones after a while
Some better tires would’ve done you well here
Jason Rivero / that's what i wantet to say ! some type os comparsion with volvo V70R

how many seconds was Steve's laptime? why didnt you show it?
He starts around 10:02 ends around 10:53 his lap was between 51 and 53 seconds. Hard to be exact without a stopwatch haha.
