The title of this song came from Roger's son Felix, who said "radio caca", which became "Radio Ga Ga". I swear I can hear Roger saying "caca" instead of "ga ga" (at 2:06, for example). I think he's gone on record confirming that's what he was saying, but I could be wrong.
It was recorded with sound leaking on the headphones, and on the chorus, it was recorded multiple times and applied much gain on repetition, hence you can hear the claps in the instrumental
"Radio Ga Ga" Radio. Radio. I'd sit alone and watch your light My only friend through teenage nights And everything I had to know I heard it on my radio You gave them all those old time stars Through wars of worlds invaded by Mars You made 'em laugh, you made 'em cry You made us feel like we could fly. Radio. So don't become some background noise A backdrop for the girls and boys Who just don't know or just don't care And just complain when you're not there You had your time, you had the power You've yet to have your finest hour Radio, Radio. All we hear is Radio ga ga Radio goo goo Radio ga ga All we hear is Radio ga ga Radio blah blah Radio, what's new? Radio, someone still loves you! We watch the shows, we watch the stars On videos for hours and hours We hardly need to use our ears How music changes through the years. the song was written by Rodger Taylor after hearing his toddler son say “Radio Caca”, Freddie Mercury sings this in the song in some of the choruses as a type of Easter egg
Greatest vocalist and front man of all time. Axel Rose is second in my opinion. Then maybe Michael Jackson Bruno Mars Elvis Presley round out the top 5
Check out Ween. You're going to think I'm joking at first, but the more you listen, the greater you'll realize Gene Ween's range is. The things he can do with his voice are exceptional. I would put him in the top 5 male rock vocalists ever AND I would put Dean Ween up for top ten rock guitarists.
Ok, I'm about to ask a really stupid question, so be kind. ha... But when they recorded the song, did they record it without the music, then added the music? How did that work? That's seems like it would be difficult to do without the music.
@The Gonad they had multi track tape to record to. Seems from a short documentary they do some base instruments like drums, piano, and bass together. then lead vocals separate, then backing vocals separate, then extra instruments like guitar and extra pieces to complete it. Sometimes they would record over all 24 tracks then have to bounce some of those or all to one track together then make more separate recordings on the now free tracks. Bohemian Rhapsody is one example where they did a lot of recording and bouncing on 24 track tape. 180 vocal dubs and a lot of random instruments. www.phys.tue.nl/people/etimmerman/recordingfaq/multi/bouncing.html
Can't prove it but I'm pretty sure Freddie three lungs
clayp72 😂
Freddie three lungs
Lol
That's a gross thought.
You can actually hear faint claps in between the "Radio Ga-Ga" and "Radio Goo-Goo"
It comes from his headphones
Sounds more like snares mate
It is primarily because its nearly impossible for some of the instrumentals to be fully removed
3:32 you can hear roger taylor❤️✨❤️✨❤️✨❤️✨✨❤️✨❤️✨❤️✨❤️
sophie woooooooowwwwwwww!!!!!
Oh Freddie! You are on heaven now, singing to the angels
JJ he is the angel singing
He's not singing to them, he's teaching them to sing, where else would they have known to sing so well?
One of my favorite songs of Queen

Mine too! Used to listen to this as kid before going to sleep. :)))
"Don't tell Deacon that we won't be smiling in this photo."
Regal Dasher Did you get this comment from "I want to break free vocals only"?
@@fluttershee Oddly enough, I didn't watch that video.
He's usually the only one smiling in the pictures
@@cav101 Yeah, generally if one of them's smiling it'll be him. If not, there's the standby Deaky pout.
-sleepy octo- they’ve done that a lot lmao
3:27 .... RAAADDIIOOO😍✨
That voice is incomparable.
You can hear Roger Taylor
The Account Remains the Same thank god
Account II Yeah because he is the best at the high notes Rogerina ❤️ I wish I was just as good as Rogerina “God knows”
And Roger Taylor can hear you

He definitely says "radio caca radio goo goo radio gaga" every time.
At the start of each chorus, it's actually radio ca Ga, that's being sung, not radio ca ca
I get goose bumps when I hear just the vocals 😍 urgh my heart melts for him.
I could still hear the claps in the background
It was recorded with sound leaking on the headphones, and on the chorus, it was recorded multiple times and applied much gain on repetition, hence you can hear the claps in the instrumental
One of the best voices ever know to man. So sad as he was taken too early. Miss you freddie

Oh, this is feeding into my latest obsession... listening to Queen songs acapella...
simplemente espectacular freddie mercury
uma das melhores musicas do queen na minha opinião
Sim mano
At 2:17 on the final "blah" you can hear John Deacon making his rare appearance of actually singing backup during a recording session and not live.
That’s Brian
Neither of them probably. It's doubted Brian sang in this track. That's probably Roger.
these should be preserved
Absolutely astonishing!
Ohhhhh i found some internet treasure
that first minute just zooming in the photo actually scared me
This is no vocals only,I still listen the music in my mind.
queens music did change in 1981-1984 it went synth wise only radio ga ga and I want to break free worked

1. Freddie Mercury THE QUEEN
2.Elvis Presley
3. Frank Sinatra
4. Micheal Jackson

I can't agree with Presley or Sinatra. I'd include Stevie Wonder miles ahead of either of them.
You should research who John Farnham is. Better than all of these.
Holy cramole.

ok, but this ‚RADIO’ sound is really creepy
Does it count as a “vocal only” video if I hear every single instrument?
Ok, I'm about to ask a really stupid question, so be kind. ha... But when they recorded the song, did they record it without the music, then added the music? How did that work? That's seems like it would be difficult to do without the music.
