Yuh Cailie Yes - it was uncanny!!! never seen anything like it even today. Well, yes but not at the level Radio Ga Ga at Live Aid. Not even close. Like the universe was in sync for several minutes.
I was born in 1989, and grew up listening to Queen. My mom was obsessed. I remember being 6 years old asking my mom if we could see them. She was all sad and said no because Freddie died.... I was devastated! Just thinking about it still breaks my heart.
I saw Bohemian Rhapsody this weekend and it was life!!!! OMG the set for Live Aid was dead on. Rami had Freddie down to a T. He's smiling down from heaven so hard, I believe that is why the sun is shining on my way to work.
UnicornMangler who give a flying fuck about Madonna? This video is about freddie Mercury and it happens that Lady Gaga used it as her stage name a form of respect and inspiration. To hell with Madonna. She’s nothing but an old hag.
Without knowing it, I had a huge desire to watch Bohemian Rhapsody on November 24th. In the credits, there it was, the date Freddie Mercury passed on. I broke down in tears... You are loved... you are remembered. Thank you for your performance on stage; for your melodic and resonate voice.

I don't know why, but I find this song so beautiful. Like, I get so emotional listening to this. Especially at the "who just don't know, and just don't care" part. For me, this is the best song Roger wrote ♥♥
It's my favourite Queen song, and I also get a bit emotional. It came out at a time when I was a teenager getting started in listening to Radio a lot, first to distant AM stations at night and then to international stations on short wave. So the first verse of this song and the line "Radio, someone still loves you" mean a lot to me.

Can you imagine the super bowl halftime show this band would've put on if Freddie was still alive? It would be a repeat of the live aid performance. Just a damn masterpiece
Very true sir! I listened to it the first time and overlooked the lyrics. As I started listening to the song more I noticed the lyrics. It portrays a very deep message that truly impacted me by listening to the story. A masterpiece of a song!
me too, everyday all day lately I've been listening to Queen, singing Queen, discovering other songs I didn't really know about before. And in the past week alone I've become a huge Queen/Freddie Mercury fan. Counting down the days until the November release of the movie!
@@AlexShiroki that's a great question. At first, I was a little bit disappointed because of the whole thing where Sacha Baron Cohen was originally kind of supposed to play the role. I thought he would have been perfect but of course that didn't work out. I was still a little bit disappointed though because I thought Rami doesn't look anything like him and has too small of a build to play him. I do however respect Rami Malek as an actor and I think he's great so I have warmed up to the idea of him played Freddie now, and I think he'll be pretty darn good. plus I suppose the small figure will help for the scenes that take place in Freddie's younger days as well as his ill days towards the end of his life. So in conclusion, I am now looking forward to rami's portrayal of him. :-) I am super pumped for the movie. Seriously listening to Queen everyday and watching Freddie documentaries and concert clips on UA-cam every day!
It was for me :) I'm not that old ( 52 ) but remember that a lot of my music influences came from the radio as a kid. Here in the UK we had BBC1, BBC2 and ITV as far as TV went. Channel 4 launched in 1982 ... When I was 15. Radio played a big part in my interest in music, especially with stations like Radio Luxembourg, also as a kid listening to late night Radio One which exposed me to a lot of music from all over the world and all sorts of genres. And, yes, the radio was almost a mystical object ... It could transport me into many places on the planet, expose me to cultures I had not experienced before, and ( mainly ) introduce me to amazing music I had not heard before. I'd have to say that the mid 70's to around 1980 I found the radio more important to my life than the TV.

Absolutely 100% agree amazing band definitely one of my favorite bands of all time and you're so right their sound was whatever they decided it was gonna be this time around. Probably very few bands that have a catalog that as eclectic as theirs.
Freddie chose the film 'Metropolis' for this video and by doing so proved he was an absolute genius. 'Metropolis' was about enslaving the public and making them robotic slaves to work for the upper class, with only the rich being free. Freddie is expressing his love for the radio because it sets the nation free from enslavement with music. EDIT: I'm referring to the choice of film folks, NOT the lyrics.
@Rowen Starchild It's completely inaccurate though, Roger Taylor wrote it about the takeover of MTV from Radio. It had nothing to do with " politics" for a start Freddie wasn't even political or a socialist.

When I look to Brian May I think he's a very nice guy way back then til now. He has just that humble and soft voice while he speak. And Freddie is not a self centered person as well because the way he sees the Queen is not by his own self but as them as a band. :)

I don’t know why but at Live Aid when they performed this and everyone clapped along at the same time, it’s just.... so, powerful.
Yuh Cailie because, as a five year old in Wembley Stadium for LiveAid, Freddie did make us feel like we could fly.
I was six.... seeing in my former house in a shitty TV and clapping, and my grandma in first time has strange my behaviour, then when she saw.... (she has working in wardrobe of opera theater in my town) she was amazed

Yes - it was uncanny!!! never seen anything like it even today. Well, yes but not at the level Radio Ga Ga at Live Aid. Not even close. Like the universe was in sync for several minutes.

Sparkles and Sunshine Do you think that Rami Malek will be any good at portraying a super man like Freddie?

Welp, radio is everywhere as we know it
It was for me :) I'm not that old ( 52 ) but remember that a lot of my music influences came from the radio as a kid.

A aesthetic that can be described as a mix of steampunk and post-apocalyptic themes.
Ahead of his time!!!!
The vocals, the energy, the theater… truly mercurial..

When I look to Brian May I think he's a very nice guy way back then til now. He has just that humble and soft voice while he speak. And Freddie is not a self centered person as well because the way he sees the Queen is not by his own self but as them as a band. :)
They were a family after all so it makes sense
A nice guy, with a phd in astrophysics, and a man who then proceeded to play a guitar solo, while on a skateboard, shooting lasers, in a son titled invisible man
Don't forget Brian is a devoted animal rights activist who campaigns against fox hunting and badger culling
Me, a 73 year old grandmother..... Queen rocks....

It’s strange how in the moment you don’t realise history is being made, that you’ll look back to those times and be so grateful that a group of of a people or person or both had affected you so profoundly. Thank you Queen, thank you Freddie.
Thank you Mark ! 🤘
How true. I think I was 17 when this came out .. I never did appreciate it at the time.
Freddy Mercury's voice will always be a blessing forever
Agreed!!!!

Your legacy will live on!
Steve Perry as well. What a legendary duo Freddie Mercury and Steve Perry would have been
Mi corazón va a estallar con la energía de esta canción. Es tan poderosa. Gracias Queen❤️🔥
THANKS ROGER TAYLOR, FREDDIE MERCURY, BRIAN MAY AND JOHN DEACON, FOR GIVING US SUCH A WONDERFUL SONG.
Yes, and they’re hot asf
Amazing ❤❤❤
You're welcome - Roger Taylor
@@cheesegod1337Taylor definitely deserves the bulk of the credit for this amazing song. It's fantastic that all four of them wrote hits. However for all the songs May, Deacon and Taylor wrote they always gave them to Freddie to tweak and finish.
