- Kenny Cannon Fishing For Fluke With Bucktails On Long Island
This is a quick video of a short fluke trip out in western long island on the south shore.
I'm using 3/4 ounce Spro bucktails (White) tipped with 4 inch swimming mullet.
I have to give credit to John Skinner for teaching me this technique. It is absolutely DEADLY for catching fluke from the shore, kayak or boat.

Agreed, and same here with that Bucktail setup and style of jigging. Works great for me too here in Texas shores. Great video.
Love it there Green Island.......nice job...
smokster0604 where is this in Long Island ?
Wow tight lines......see you there 4/1/17 coming fast.....
Nice action. What time of year was this?
That's so cool I pass through that bridge all the time also nice fish and good luck!
Thanks Mason. I haven't fished that area at all this year. I've been focusing on the north shore and eastern LI for most of the summer because of the brown tide that hit us. FI inlet has been great the last 2 weeks but all small fish.
Kenny Cannon Outdoors I fished the fire island inlet once this year, I only got smalls but we ran into a school of blue fish which was fun😀. I usually fish out of the jones beach inlet. Only got 1 keeper Fluke so far😬
One more than me. The only keeper fluke I got this year was from the surf. I had my mom out recently and she got one that was 20 inches. We loaded up on sea bass and porgies that day too.
Kenny Cannon Outdoors nice 👍🏻
Hard release
Cool Video! were you using a three way swivel?
Nope. Just a dropper loop about 12 inches above the bucktail
green island lol
Yeah. Not the pier though. I was straight down from the parking lot. The first spot I was planning on going to was the back side of Oak Beach but there was like 20 people out on the bar.
