    Nothing better then fishing with pops. Mine showed me the ropes when I was young. Had me throwing a bait caster at 7. Take it in bro. My old man can't get out as much anymore. So do it while you can. 🤘

    In Jersey we use those crabs to catch stripers in summer time. Put 3 on a circle hook, and cast them in a rip or just in the troughs.

      I have, but in freshwater. It certainly sounds like it would be an absolute blast for back bay fishing!

    Another great video. It’s great getting out and fishing with your dad. Just finished fishing with my dad, we both got skunked. Which leads me to a question do you feel like a lot is luck, knowledge, retrieve, lures, fish aren’t interested? To be honest I’m getting discouraged, I’m putting in time and reading and really trying to gain more knowledge cause I enjoy fishing thoroughly.

      John, it sounds like you and I are in the same boat. I wouldve given up a long time ago if it was all about catching fish. I enjoy the process of fishing but it does get discouraging to go on such a LONG streak without catching fish.
      Even though I’m not catching on a consistent basis yet, I feel like I may be headed in the right direction. I’ve finally started keeping a log (which I know feel is imperative, especially for saltwater). If you dont catch anything. Write down your observations (water temp, tide, moon phase, was there baitfish around?)
      I would start by fishing 2 hours on each side of the high tide, or low tide. If youre not catching but the baitfish around you, chances are youre in the right spot.

      I think it’s a combination of all of those. You gotta remember, there’s an entire ocean out there! There’s much more water and shore line then there are fish. You may be in the wrong spots at the wrong time. Maybe right now the beach there’s fish because for some reason bait schooled up there. You know? Just keep on keeping on. You’ll get them. Soon enough we’ll have some snappers coming through and they usually cruise the shorelines and there’s a lot of them. Small spoons and light tackle will be your best bet for that. Also, when it gets a little warmer we’ll have the mackerel coming close, blue runners, and much more. I’ll be making videos of EVERYTHING and helping the best I can to get everyone on as many fish as possible! Good luck! #smoochandrelease

      Great response and exactly what I needed to hear. I am doing a lot of reading of books about tides and moon phases,etc. I have heard that keeping a log is also great. I know I won’t catch on a consistent basis cause it is called fishing and we all know they have a mind of their own. I enjoy it so much. Thanks again for your response it makes me feel great that another person feels like I do

    • @johnmulcahy2311
      @johnmulcahy2311 2 роки тому

      Thank you again for responding, I’m going to keep on keeping on hahahaha! I know there is so much water out there as opposed to fish. I’m new to it and I have to learn more and I enjoy learning but would like alittle reward you know, even a bluefish cause I like the fight and will put it back.

      Within two hours of high tide is usually a good time. Dawn or dusk. Talk to other local fisherman and tackle/bait shops. Dont give up
