There's something just timeless about this performance. It captured the same intensity and energy they had the first time I ever saw and heard them in 2004 when they were opening for Silverstein. You could tell this was one of the first times they got together and performed after breaking up where you can get a sense that the band still felt the spark they did in the beginning. Their music means more than ever now since the fans thought we'd lost them. The ever blossoming timbre of Dallas's voice, the energy that Chris and Wade bring to the stage, the frenetic chaos George contributes, and Jordan's locked in cadence... AOF are one of the bands whose blend of energy, riffs, poetry, and humility that have and will always resonate deeply with those of us that have always felt like we were the odd one out in the crowd. It's an incredible feeling having seen them return with new music, a new album and touring again. This past Wednesday was the first time I could take advantage of the opportunity to see them live in 18 years. A 2 hour set of the same energy they delivered at this performance in Reading and in that seedy dungeon of a hotel bar called Ace's Basement in Greensboro, NC all those years ago. Finding myself now on the wiser side of 40, I look back at all their music has meant throughout my 20s and 30s... They are one of the few bands I can say that truly enriched my life and helped tremendously to carry me through the darker times, so I extend my most sincere gratitude to Dallas, George, Wade, Chris, Jordan, and Jesse and want to thank you all for sharing the parts of yourselves that have made your music the treasure that it is.
No doubt my man. I've been a fan since day one and to be honest it was like 2001 and I saw an ad with their weird name and I just checked them out. The rest is history.

MardyBum100291 nah, it’s actually like 80% the sound engineers. You even have them to thank for the CD sounding how it does, the band plays the instruments but if it wasn’t for the vision of the audio engineers/producers, half these bands wouldn’t sound how they do. Sometimes the producers even help the band re-write songs etc. Yes the musicians are crazy talented, but the producers/audio engineers play a bigger part in the bands sound than you’d think.
Saw these boys in 2019 at Blues Fest in Ottawa. Been coming back to this weekly since to relieve that night. Never let Alexisonfire die, one of the most under appreciated bands in Canadian history
During the northern there's a bit where they all walk to the front of the stage....really stands out that they have 4 front men. Best band ever in my opinion ❤❤
I was there for this. Was amazed they were playing main stage and only 4 off headline. But absolutely incredible, class is permanent. And recently saw them at Brixton Academy and so glad they're even more than the band they used to be
I see these 'old guys' doing this after getting retired once from music, and see the other shows at the same festival, and realize that Alexisonfire schooled them all big time. That Dog's blood part after the calm...its just insane. They will always be legends. Too bad they didn't come to Portugal yet
Too bad the crowd was mega mega boring and lame, wouldn't have happened in the early 90s. What a bunch of boring kids! Hardly jumping nor crowd surfing, hilarious! What a snooze fest
Alexisonfire never disappoints when it comes to playing live, seen many live shows and they always sound just like off the album and there performance is always energetic,Canadian Proud for these guys very lookin forward to the new album.
2002, they were one of the first post hardcore bands that fuzed emo with metal, with melodic singing with an emotional tone, fuzed with hard rock and metal screaming....its been copied a million times, but not many bands did this in 2002, underoath was one of the first too
Underoath feel like cheap garbage to me. Up against a band that isn't just singing pop songs to a "heavy" soundtrack, they really come across very lame to me. Alexisonfire is a much better band, instrumentally, vocally and lyrically. I'm not saying they aren't kinda guilty of some of the lame sad guy lyrics but they're fewer and far between and weren't playing the "I'm with jesus" angle. Underoath started off as a very good, very heavy blackened death metal sounding band only to simplify and codify their sound to the 15yo emo audience of the time. After Dallas Taylor left, there isn't a single song I can palate from them. AOF, on the other hand, never struck me to have written songs with the sole purpose of pleasing their fans. They appeared to me, at the time and even now, as a band that wrote what they wanted to write and happened to be stoked when people liked their new music.
