Chris Blancato is the guy who mixed and mastered this. He got this sounding so perfect to how it was coming out of the speakers, it's insane

i think they re-wrote sound at studio and put it up on the video (a standard thing for concerts, coz concert sound is typically trash). the sound is too perfect. but anyway vocalist is very strong

Marcus plays the entirety of a set, performing incredible screams and cleans, and then just hits you with “sleepless” and absolutely nails it. That was a vocal performance for the ages. This dude is different.
Totally agree, his vocals are so good in this performance. So sharp and he didn't miss a note.

@@pashul1n Exactly, it's so annoying. Adrian sounded awful when I saw them live. Maybe it was an off night, but based on clips I've seen he didn't sound good on those either. Now people are complaining about Marcus from Invent Animate. They say Ben was much better and I disagree with that as well.

Jesus it's such a high quality concert. Camera's and resolution is fantastic with tons of clarity. The sound is so pure and well put together by whomever the technician is. This is a phenomenal concert. Northlane killing it!
the fact that there are so many switches between extrem dim light/complete darkness and bright lights and everything looks sooooo fucking crisp.

Mike Patton has a 6.5 octave vocal range, way out of Marcus's ability.

Adrian was a huge influence for me personally as a vocalist, his crushing lows are going to remain some of my favorite metalcore vocals ever. But... I saw some really dumb comments just for the sake of favouritism and not being able to somehow move on after all those years. Marcus is one of the best live vocalist if not the best I ever had the pleasure to see in the genre. His technic is absolutely flawless, if people still doubt him they’re seriously just doing it for the sake of trolling and act mischievously. This man deserves a lot of respect and so is Northlane as a whole.
I can't think of another vocalist that sounds as good as Marcus does live. Marcus is pretty much copy paste. Sounds like he does on the album. Even better in some bits when he REALLY gets going. He's brilliant.

Honestly they’re very different. I don’t think Marcus has the best screams in the genre (not saying he’s bad because he’s far from it), but his clean vocals are astounding. He has some absolute pipes on him.
In saying that, Adrian was incredible at screaming, but he lacked a bit in the singing department.

The more I listen to these songs of their new record the more I realize that ALIEN is a fuckin' modern masterpiece of whatever the sub genre is called. I hope that these guys will get the attention they deserve, this is a phenomenal live performance / band.
I have a feeling someone in their band discovered the album The Height of Callousness by Spineshank and put their spin on it. That album was heavily inspired by the industrial metal groups of that era

Alien album is insane, it's like first time hearing hybrid theory, emotionally heavy and glorious!
Quantum Flux still rips just as hard as it always has.
It's absolutely insane... 4D at 27:15 doesn't just sound great, it's honestly better than the studio version. I also love the atmospheric guitar in the chorus of Details Matter 9:25, love this version more than the studio one too. I keep coming back to this video so often lol

I remember when they first dropped Obelisk shortly after Marcus joined the band and the uproar was crazy, so many pissed off fans. The contrast now seeing the crowd go SO fucking hard to that song is actually awesome. This band is incredible.
The reason for the uproar was mainly because the original track is pretty poorly mixed, at least compared to other songs on Node and their discography in general. The drums are pretty muted, and Marcus's vocals at times seemed to be at the back of the mix rather than front and centre.
Every other version of Obelisk (Ghost City Sessions, Analog Future and now Roundhouse) has nailed the mix with the track. The drums pack the proper punch, the guitars aren't as compressed and Marcus is allowed to shine properly as a vocalist.

Couldn’t agree more mate! I mean, the album version is near perfection but it’s impossible to single live and because of the amount of vocal layers Adrian never managed to properly perform it live and somehow Marcus pushed this song to a whole new level!
Marcus needs to convince the band to play Grateful live. That would be INSANE.

I HAD TO COME BACK BECAUSE OF EVERYTHING BUT JINN THOOOO 😭🥺🙏🏼😍...oh Jinn....you guys curated a song that doubles as a teleportation device. Every time I get sent to another place. Not only do I resonate with that song lyrically, but...man. Marcus- absolutely flawless delivery throughout the entire show. This song along with the end chorus of Bloodline in the higher octave just CHILLS mate. Alien is my favorite record of yours. You took a big risk, did something different and IT PAID OFF. I've always loved Northlane dearly, but when I heard Alien--- I was thrown back in my chair as memories of the good, bad, sad and in-between came flooding in. I needed that release. I cried. I felt like I conquered. I felt vulnerable, I felt shame, I felt guilt, I felt strength, power, wiser, unstoppable...just thank you. You have no idea how much this record means to me guys. 😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Next time you can make it up to Detroit, look for a girl in her late 20s, with long red hair on her head (that's probably banging) with tattoos all over the place including a vampire mouth neck tattoo (can't miss it) I'll be the one right at the front singing the songs back to you with everything I have. Literally want to send you all edible arrangements 😂😂😂 that's how much this shit means to me. I come from a family riddled in psychological abuse, addiction, selfish narcissists, and never felt like I belonged with this "family." I heard Bloodline and I bawled my eyes out. I’m a 44 year old metal head that’s listened to so many live bands and I have to say Marcus is there with some of the best.
I don't know how they are going to top Alien. That album is just a masterpiece. Doing that shit live is beyond amazing.

It’s time they started playing at least 90min sets. They’ve got 5+ albums and Marcus is far better live than Adrian ever was.
Difficult to sustain over a 15-25 date tour given how important the clean singing is to Marcus' style. Bringing in guys like Brendon I'm sure lightens the load a bit if he can fill with backing vocals on certain parts.
Oof. That's very demanding when you play every other night on tour.

Definitely a fair point. Quantum Flux and Dream awake with Adrian are still my favourite Northlane songs but Marcus has been able to perform well live for whole sets and sustain it, can’t fault it at all.

I cant get over how great this guys vocals are live. To be able to hit all those notes while also screaming for an hour straight is nothing short of amazing. No fatigue whatsoever even towards the end of the set, this vocalist is truly special. Bands great too, im a huge fan
This is peak music in 2022. One of my favorite live concert recordings of all time.
I literally comeback to this almost every day and every single mother fucking time I listen to Sleepless, I get destroyed and start crying. There's so much emotion in what these guys do, that it's hard to describe it.
These guys aren't just a band, these guys are one of the reasons I keep going and believing things will become better one day. At this point, I don't know what I would be without their music.
We all fucking love you boys and we hope you never stop inspiring people the way you do.

Marcus is catching Sam Carter as my favourite vocalist in metal right now. Marcus definetly has better cleans but Sams harsher vocals are on another level. Either way this is one of the best live shows I've seen. Whoever mixed it needs a raise
After this show I’m honestly convinced that Marcus is the better vocalist. I absolutely love Sam and he is definitely amazing but he tends to get more tired during the later parts of the sets and his singing especially suffers from that fatigue. Marcus hits it at 100% from start to finish. I would say he’s got more range too. It’s next level stuff.

I have a personal bias because i absolutely love Architects and some of the screams I've heard Sam do live are absolutely insane but there's definitely an argument for Marcus being better. Either way, very lucky to have 2 unreal vocalists putting out amazing music recently

As much as I enjoyed Adrian in Northlane, he is nowhere near Marcus when it comes to live vocals. Marcus is an animal.

The sound here is MASSIVE all around. Great job to the production team. I think Northlane really found themselves with Marcus. He has improved live so much since he joined. I am sad, though, to see Brendon leave, he was a great addition.
