I been looking to change up the set up because I do a lot of alternative/indie music but with more distortion from the guitar. I want to try out different pedals because I want to keep the attack from my guitar but without drowning the notes if you get what I mean?

The more I listen to these guys, the more impressed I get by them. It's a two man band. There's a reason you don't see many two man bands. Hell, you don't see many three man bands, much less two. The less players you have in a band, the more space you have to fill. Not an easy thing to do.
Whoever mixed them is a fucking genius, everything is just the right volume, although the vocals could be a little louder and more rounded out, but everything else is fuckkng perfect

They are unreal live, and incredibly loud. From a guitarist perpsective, its an immense wall of sound. Best fucking band to come out of the UK from 2010 onwards. They are so unique and they have such a completely different tone and sound to any band Ive ever heard. Its such a dark, heavy, high octane sound. As a mash up, it has the psychdelic qualities of QOTSA, heavy riffs of Muse/RATM, coupled with the sqealing sounds of the White Stripes. Mike clearly takes a lot of inspiration from 70's/80s heavy metal sounds as well.
Not a huge fan of Royal Blood, however I saw them support the Foo Fighters in Milton Keynes in September and they were incredible. Like I said, not a number one fan but I can appreciate the show they put on. Loved the Iron Man encore at the end, and whatever it was at the end, quality!

It's because the time it takes for sound from the amps to reach the crowd is 0.25 seconds or so. For them it sounds in time but because we're hearing it directly from a mic on stage it sounds out of time.
If you’ve ever played in a high school marching band or in a band in general youd experience the same thing. It’s not because they’re off beat, it’s just because of the sound science stuff that was stated in the previous comment. When this happens it’s really hard to stay on beat, but they’re so talented that they’re able to play through the chaos :-)

I saw this band 3 times in a week by coincidence! Including this performance. I’d seen them several times on there rise in status. Again coincidentally. But I enjoyed every show I’ve seen them put in. This video doesn’t show how terrible the weather was.
You’ll find the answer if you look at other comments but I’ll still shine some light for you. Among the plethora of effects Mike uses. To get somewhere in the region of this tone I recommend 1 (or 2) octave pedals and a fuzz pedal. If you want to really experiment with tone then I’d highly recommend getting a digital modelling amp. I have one myself and it’s pretty much all I ever use.
I have a thing for two piece and trio bands that manage to achieve a "full" sound when playing live. Royal Blood totally achieves that.

I saw this band 3 times in a week by coincidence! Including this performance. I’d seen them several times on there rise in status. Again coincidentally. But I enjoyed every show I’ve seen them put in. This video doesn’t show how terrible the weather was.
I need that my eletric guitar sounds like this bass. Very modern tone. I loved it! These guys rock !
You’ll find the answer if you look at other comments but I’ll still shine some light for you. Among the plethora of effects Mike uses. To get somewhere in the region of this tone I recommend 1 (or 2) octave pedals and a fuzz pedal. If you want to really experiment with tone then I’d highly recommend getting a digital modelling amp. I have one myself and it’s pretty much all I ever use.
These guys are quickly rising up my list of favourite artists, 'cause, damn that's good.
