To explain better, Polish people often make fun of city guards(almost as much as we make fun of police), because their interventions usually consist of giving tickets, locking wheels and very weak attempts of stoping the violence. Another words, they're useless when we really need them.
Ofcourse not every city guard is like that, but those are main reasons, why we joke about them. But it's like joking about doctors, who treat you diffrently when you go to them privately or on NFZ. Every job has something shady to talk about, might as well laugh about it.
This reminded me of joke about police.
Why do policemen walk everywhere in pairs?
Because one of then can read and other can write.

i'm from poland and sometimes me and my friends joke, that in police serve those who did not qualify for the army and the city guards are the ones who were unfit even for the police, that's why they were surprised that anyone would volunteer to the city guard.
The Polish word "rower" comes from the English company Rover, which once produced not only cars but also bicycles. The word "velocipede" used to function in Poland. But, that it was used by Russians, and we wanted to distinguish ourselves somehow, so we began to use the word "rower" with the letter "w", because the "v" in Polish does not appear in the original.
It is typical brand name generization.

Here's why they laughed at him wanting to be a city guard. While the police might help you with a robbery or find your stolen car, the only interaction with CG you'll ever have is getting a parking ticket or they'll ask you to turn down the music because the babcia next flat over can't sleep. They literally exist only to patch the holes in the budget.
Turn down music? Where? In my city everyone is so loud and city guards don't care.

Jokes aside, Otwock is about an hour out of Warsaw by train and is famous for it's Świdermajer architecture. Well worth visiting. I have good memories seeing it with my mom and finishing the trip off in Sosenka cafe in the city park (which is also built in the style). Although in truth the Świdermajer architecture has been build along this whole railway line, between Warszawa-Anin and Otwock. So you could rent bikes, go to Otwock by train with them and then sightsee while biking back towards Warsaw. If you get tired you just get to the nearest station on the line, get on the train and get back to Warsaw. A neat tour for a spring or summer outing! : )
I am from the town they talk about , Otwock😂 40k ppl so not that small but we don't have city guards.

Just for the context - city guards are something comparable to Local Authority Enforcement Officers in the UK. They deal with low-level offences (littering, noise, parking violations etc.). They are not like the Police, and usually people do not take them seriously. They had a reputation of wandering aimlessly, trying to issue parking tickets.
You wanted to say they do *not* deal with low-level offences. Because in theory they should, but in practice they never care.
@@Netsuki Oh, they do deal with the lowest of the low level offences. If you need to give a ticket to a grandma selling parsley without a permit or if you want to put a lock on an illegally parked car (especially if the car obstructs traffic and should be towed not locked), Straż Miejska are the go-to people for that stuff.
@@MikrySoft They rather sound like a nuisance. And it's perfectly picturized in the sketch. They would rather give you a ticket than actually resolve problem that is more important. Because giving a ticket doesn't take effort. We had some issues in our "yard", don't remember what was it about. And instead of resolving it, the guy tried to teach us what is lawn. So they act high and mighty and think they are smarter than everyone. They never resolved any issue to us. We had to resolve the issues ourselves.

Rob if you use form "przyjaciele"(friends) you should use form "witajcie" (welcome people) either but if you use form "przyjacielu"(friend) then form "witaj" (welcome you) will be corret.

The word "rower" in polish language is a name of firm, wich as a first saled this vehicles in Poland. In many languages we have "bi-cycle", it means "two-wheels(vehicle)" ,in Poland we have "rower" (Yes, the same firm wich made Your car). The same like , for example, "autokar"(bus), "elektrolux" (some older people - especially in the south of Poland - use this name for vacuum cleaner), "bosz", "flex" for angle grinder or "dżip" for a terrain car.

Polska w Euro 2024! 2 - godzinny pojedynek. Ale w zasadzie do samego końca ważyły się losy. Karne to już w sumie jest nawet trochę bardziej gra... nerwów😅. Trochę niemiły incydent z wygwizdaniem polskiego hymnu narodowego przez kibiców Walii😏. Ale Polacy podobno zrewanżowali się przy najbliższej nadarzającej się okazji czyli... już dwie minuty później🤗. Więc trochę mogło to nawet przypominać spotkanie ignorancji z głupotą albo jakichś promilii z procentami🥴🤦🤮. Teraz Polska ma niecałe trzy miesiące na stanie się super drużyną marzeń💪🦸, bo czeka nas 16 czerwca spotkanie z Holandią (6. miejsce w rankingach), 21 czerwca gra z Austrią (25. według notowań) a później tylko 25 czerwca rozgromimy Francję😄🤣🤭 głośne cha cha cha (Lewandowski - Mbappe spotkanie na szczycie😄 - ustępujący Lewandowski dodajmy, bo to chyba już może być ostatnie Euro w jego karierze...).
Raz zdarzyło mi się wogóle zostawić rękawiczki blisko siedziby straży miejskiej i... wciąż tam były jak się po nie wróciłam, więc może jednak jest jakieś poważanie do tej instytucji (choć może też akurat złodzieje okradali właśnie bank, więc rekawiczki ich nie interesowały w tym momencie🤔😁😉 cha cha cha).
