I sold it to my buddy after i had it for about 6 months. He has it in his Jag and it's still sounding clean. I'm gonna do a new build for my 300 in the next few months. All new door speakers, front and rear stage, new DSP, new 4 channel, new mono, new wires, and new subs. I just haven't figured if I want to go with two of these 12's or three of the 10's

Yeah I’d probably be able to tell the difference too having ran with W7s since 2005. This actually sounds real clean though compared to other demos Patrick has shown. I wonder how much this weighs and if they make a 15” version. 👍🏼
@@iargueta1220 yeah maybe but most people can’t. the w7 have a hard to beat sound quality but as far as numbers. Or being loud for a fraction of the cost. Unfortunately the biggest subwoofer a seismic audio makes is a 12 inch. And they don’t sell recone kits.

I have to say though that after running 2 12W7s in a custom box and upgrading to 1 13W7 in a box by FATBOXUSA there was a HUGE difference. The shop that installed it was shaking tremendously 😆 this guys shop looked like it was gonna breakdown. The 13W7 has an Fs of 23Hz!

These drivers, really aren't that bad. There is a guy, i met at the local cruise in they have at a local Hardee's each month. He has two of these in d2, ran on a SMART 3K and they sound pretty damn good for the money. He's had em for a few months and I think he said his enclosure was 3 cubes net, and tuned to 30hz. He's more of an sq guy from what he said, and they really did sound very good and responsive. Nice, honest review! 👍
It looks like the Fs is a bit high. You could add mass to it but it'd make the sub really inefficient. I don't think it's worth the money when you have the Seismic playing to 35Hz already and cheaper. Sure the Harmony looks cool, but your ears cannot hear that glass fiber cone.
Seismic is alright really. I use some of their pro gear. Theyve got some good cabs that sound great when using modelers or straight heads. I used to use their 4x12 with a 2x15 cab below it when i was more serious into music and playing around bars and stuff.
lol. I'll try that. Sometimes I've used acetone and it still leaves a shadow or it softens the poly and just smudges the whole thing. I'd rather replace with a smaller inner cap that's epoxied into place and then a nice glass fiber cap over that for looks.

I've looked at them since they introduced the car audio. There amps are cheap too on there website. They have some terrible prefab packages but I guess every market has it's own consumers. There 8s and10s are worth taking a look at too.

Motor doesn't look large enough. Even with a 3" coil, real world power handling would be closer to 800wrms. I'd have to test one out here. I think there are better deals than that on Amazon. I'm going to review the Gravity green stitch subs. Those are an even better deal than the Seismic and look basically the same. Gravity is owned by Boss Group.

Basically from top of the surround to the opposite side Will give you diameter. Chop that number in half, then multiply it by it's self.. Then multiply that number by Pi. A=3.14 x radius squared. ggle.io/5IaA
I recommend a little bit higher tuning. It'll give you extra free bass. 33 to 36Hz instead. Having a tuning frequency that low does you no good if your sub cannot play that low.
To answer your question, the Fs can be lowered by having a softer suspension, (spider and or surround), and / or having a heavier coil. I'm pretty sure this coil is aluminum, so that might be the item that I'd change to lower the Fs. Nice heavy, copper coil.

@@RobotUnderground never burnt, they glue the leads on the bottom of the spider. Both sets broke right where the leads leave the glue. If they had sown them instead of glue (CA) I believe because it was rock solid, I would still be using them. I have them torn down to repurpose them with a better frame, spider, and new cone. Just waiting on funds to play with.
And thanks to your videos Patrick, my son and I salvaged the coils to reuse them without any damage, we watch every video and discuss ideas you put into your heads!

I sold my 3 w7 subs and I’m now running 3 SA-gfc122 subs. Both get loud, I can hear the SQ difference on the w7’s but for the price I can’t go wrong.

JL Audio isn't bad stuff it's just way overpriced. MANY same or better options for less cost.
