    One of the best how to videos I have watched... No useless time wasting information or chatter - just the step by step. Answered every question I had even though I had already done mine... Next time I will do the 3 second water on/8 second water off flush since I did not know that was a thing... I would like to know how to clean my heating elements though...

      I completely agree!!! I never knew this flushing was a thing! Last year my water softener head failed and needed to be replaced, which it has been for about 10 months now. I could not figure out why I was getting some darker water with my hot water, when the water softener system is functioning properly. Then i remembered ahh, need to drain it within the next week. Love this video!

    Very clear and to the point. After tripping the breakers, I always check with a meter at the elements to make sure there is no current flowing.

    You are a great presenter. I already knew you had a video on replacing the anode rod, but a link to the other video in each comment section would make sure viewers could easily find the other video. I needed to hunt a bit :-)

    What! How'd you just pull that thermostat cover off like that?? Took me like half hour to wrangle that thing off and broke thermostat cover off doing it. I'm watching that part a few more times lol

    Some states require 90 gallon water heaters on home with large tubs - But some houses did not come with outdoor basement access that limits a large HWH so the builder installed 2 50 gallon WN.

    Great presentation, finally understand the process now. I have a 47 gal Lowboy in my crawlspace, my first Bradford White (same model) lasted 14 years. How often can you expect to replace the anode rod. I know it’s a sacrificial part and will need replacing every once in a while. My current water heater is less than a year old. Thanks. 👍👍

    What if the electric water heater makes a small water boiling sound. Mine started doing that. It’s also hot too. Its where the top cover is where you unscrew and open up the insulation and see the reset button and the thermostat. The bottom one seems fine though. Had to turn off the water heater for the night and wonder if its something small that i can take care of like in this video or call service tech.

    Do you recommend replacing drain valve with one that has a larger opening to flush sediment more effectively? If so what valve is best?

    • @joedc8169
      @joedc8169 3 роки тому +3

      Increasing the size would increase the volume but would reduce the flow (speed) . I recommend the same size as the Manufacture intended

    So, my Bradford White 50 gal gas water heater was installed in January, but the water here is very "hard" due to high mineral content. So, it's been about 6 months. Should I go ahead with drain and flush? And what about the anode?

    Flushing an electric tank doesn't do a whole lot. They do not heat from the bottom. You're better off replacing the elements. If you're in the area with hard water and no water softener.They should probably be replaced every 4 to 5 years. It will keep the water heater more efficient and heating quicker.
