Brah if you can ride that death trap the way you do/did then I'd love to see what you could do with a brand spanking new bike... Start torture testing reviewing every sport bike on the market
I was instantly fascinated by this in the first min I was hooked to this series... Just think. He was doing 180 in this thing barely held together lmfao.. What a legend.
@@Gspotgarage the bike did 169 stock. The body panels got busted up stunting the bike. All real riders have zip ties. You shouldn't ride, although I can already tell you don't.
Nah my shit is the same no lie. Steel wires holding shit, missing bolts, ebay exhaust, mismatch levers, smoked visor, and a 4 inch bolt for a right foot peg.
Hi Jake...thanks a lot for rebuilding Gixxer Brah's bike...I'd just always assumed that he was having it regularly tuned & maintained @ his buddy's shop--since he lives close by to it, & he seems to drop it off there a lot...actually, I am completely shocked at its state of complete disrepair--especially considering how hard he pushes it on so many of his rides (at least the ones he posts on UA-cam)...I know you'll do great job on it!
His buddy’s shop is really just a dealership they don’t do very much bike maintenance besides the dealership inventory also g.b. Isn’t very mechanically inclined
I really like your reactions to this bike, I've felt the same working on friends bikes a ton! WD-40 is amazing as a degreaser, it's mostly Kerosene and fish oil so it smells nicer than any other degreaser too (In a closed garage this really matters), it's the best thing I have found for removing old chain lube.
This will be great content to watch. I'm looking forward to your GSXR Bro rebuild series on this bike.. Dang, difficult to believe he let that thing deteriorate like it has.
Cool to sit back and watch the entire process from tear down to cleaning and eventually to some new part installs. Huge fan of both of you guy's channels. Jake has been an inspiration to wanna get a bike since i found him on YT.
As someone returning to the bike scene after 8years I was thinking damn this is a great watch, who is this chap? Jake theGardenSnake! no wonder! I used to follow you back when I had a bike, great to seen your still making fantastic content! instant re-sub.
Everything that can wear out on a motorcycle will be worn out on that motorcycle. I wouldn't be surprised if the frame sections the bearings sit in aren't hollowed out. It is a tribute to how strong the stock bike is that you are actually having something left to fix. Good luck.
I bought a gsxr 600 years ago not knowing about bike culture. At first I didn’t want to embrace it but over time I realized with stuff like this I’m a full on gixxer bro
you should try the frozen tank trick to get the dent out! Fill it to the brim with water and freeze it, the displacement of ice can sometimes pop out the dent to original. I’ve tried it a few times on Harley tanks and Honda tanks it could work!
I keep rewatching this video. Incredible. I had no idea this bike was that clapped. Can't believe he was ripping on this thing like that. This bike is damn near a complete tear down, except for the engine and trans.
Tbh this is the bike build type I prefer. Not a crazy money dream build, more of a "I bought a terrible lemon cus it's all I could afford and now let's make it probably ok maybe sometimes"
Reminds me of one of the last Buells I picked up. Rear motor mounts was cracked in half in two places (how?!), rear shock was cut on purpose by the owner to lower it but never put back together right so it just fell apart when the tension was released. All the electrical was just twisted together and taped. Forks were leaking and caps mangled for some reason. Exhaust can was missing its mounting bolts (huge no, no on Buells as you'll almost instantly crack the headers) plus a lot more. Some people shouldn't work on bikes. Worst thing was I asked the guy if it was ok to ride home 2 hours before I showed up and he was like "Ya! Its great" Glad I ended up bringing the truck instead.
I’m having PTSD flashbacks from trying to help people who were having issues with the “motorcycle mechanics” they had install their parts. Zip ties, uneven lowering kits,Fork seal leaks, horrible wiring. 😂😂😂. Also I’m on your patreon now finally.
Subscribed to follow this series Jake! If it was me I probably would have sealed off the TB's and ignition switch, rolled that thing outside and pressure washed it! 🤣
8:00 originally the breather would go through some wizardry and back into the intake... but right now hes just put a filter on it and all the engine stuff thats supposed to be burned is now getting flung allover the engine... poor GSXR
I see Jake as a broken man right now. Part what the hell did I get myself into, part why the hell did I opt for this as a build. On the bright side, we're here to support you all the way! :P It's going to be very gratifying to see so many wrongs being righted! We're up for some good content in Jake Land! :) You got this!
@@TheGardenSnake awesome! i just got a gsxr 750 with that chip and a dynojet fuel adjuster. are these plug n play? i do not trust the previous owner does the bike need a tune?

The fact that this dude prioritizes saying "BRAYYAHS" every 3.5 seconds over his bike not falling apart while going 170mph on highways and long wheelies is insane lmao dude is a TRUE squid regardless of gear
I was at robs when brah was installing new spark plugs, the bike was in INTERESTING condition. I asked if he had topped it out (duh he posted it) with the dent in the wheel rim. He said "what dent?" and I pointed to the large dent.. yeah he ordered new wheels that day lmao

still beats a 50k shiny and squeaky clean ducati 😆
Looks like my stuff
Forgive the obvious question, but why not just get another Gixxer of the same year if that's the major thing for you?

this is a really good chance for us k5 / k6 people to see some tutorials. With the bike being so old its hard to get info on these sometimes.

The gold box in the tail is an Annitori QuickShifter. Althought, it didn't appear to be hooked up. Great quick shifter, if all the parts are there.
This is the only channel I will not skip an add on. Make this channel profitable again!
I tend to put off certain work on my bike and watching this is literally snapping me into shape xD
