I just picked up a cheap 2006 ZX6R off a colleague and this video has been invaluable to me. I now see how many bolts and fasteners my bike is missing XD
@Christopher Terrence I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and I'm trying it out atm. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@@johnast yo are you in the states and what state if you are? I own a 06 zx6r that needs a little love since i dropped her and broke my collar bone last june. Bike is caged and everything so only cosmetic stuff like fairing were damaged. I think water has seeped through the gas tank since its been sitting garage stored since i went down. If youre interested in the whole bike as a parts bike, lemme know maybe we can work something out.
I liked the way you went from start to finish in one video. Not keen on the rear pegs or the decals on the fairing but you have skills. Keep up the good work👍
Your rebuild video made me not give up on my 636. I just got it started up today after 3 months of constantly trying to figure out wtf was wrong with it because it wouldn’t fire up. Got the mechanical side figured out and now it’s time to turn her into a beauty. Thanks man
@@luckybguy owner prior to me snipped off the ground wire to the power commander. So the power commander wasn’t shooting fuel into the valves bc of the ground. Hella frustrating but man is she FUN to ride around
dude, i just watched like 2 of your videos and it's pretty late at night but idc. i love watching these bikes being brought back to life and i'm hoping to see them running on open roads. i mean like clips tho. i'm from philippines and such a big fan of these monster bikes, hoping to be able to buy one someday hahaha. i'm going to subscribe to you right now. this is so cool!
When you were putting on crash protectors it reminded me when I did the same with basic tools and the engine bolt snapped, my old man had the manual hand drill and I was there for an hour or so gnawing at it sweating and somehow managed to not fk things up. 😂 Bike looked fantastic after btw, you know your stuff.
I think this is one of the best rebuilds you've done along side the Honda Repsol rebuild, both bikes came out looking like showroom condition models even better than the one's that walk the catwalk..!
I had this exact same bike, sold it about a month ago. She had an abusive owner and I just couldn't afford the repairs any longer. I loved that bike so much, so watching this video gets mixed emotions... thank you so much for restoring this beauty.
Great effort bringing this one back to life. A couple of observations: 1) First audio track was a bit too Alvin and The Chipmunks. 2) The blacked out look would have been perfect for this bike, given how bold the fairing colour scheme is. So perhaps black pegs, discs etc next time? 3) Custom gauge set up is excellent!
Hi Rob, tell me your thoughts on this idea regarding the cluster mod. I was thinking thinking of modifying it further by replacing LED that sits at the top ( red line ) with a red LED, what do you think? I’ll post a pic once I’ve done it… 😄👍
Happy Birthday Robby. Only just started watching your channel and subscribed. I own an R1 in England. You have given me the confidence to at least, take a few things off my bike either to clean or maintain. Keep those tools busy. Cheers Paul.
Grab a book or do some reading online about how fuel injection works . Only time you have to touch the throttle with a factory fuel injected "anything" is during operation. Good video my apologies for the scrutiny I think its so funny when someone pumps the peddle or twist the throttle trying to start anything fuel injected. You were right the first attempt cycle the key 5 to ten times to prime the fuel system
OMG I've just started watching this channel and I love it , I'm over 40 but wanna start a project ,God help me LOL , don't want to buy something with cracked neck or engine failure...
I own a 05 636 and have little details to fix on it this video has helped allot. Please comment online stores to find parts since I’m struggling to find some.
I have the same bike I'm also bringing it back to life its all black with gold triple tree and green spikes on the wind screen my gole is white carbon fiber wrap trimmed gold and gold pinstripes and green highlights where the wind makes down force nice livery

great work! When U R doing the decals for it You should modify the small sticker on the right side of the headlight fairing.Where it says Icon motorsport,to RK motorsport. I think that would make it more personalized, special and would make your company stand out a bit.

Been binging your rebuild videos for the last few days! Great work. Thanks for not taking 87 episodes to put on a clutch cover...
Finally a 636 build that isn't a stunt bike
yet.

LED headlights. I put them on my 05 636 and what a difference. Not only at night but it also makes the bike look "newer". Great build man.
The new owner of this bike already has some LED headlights ready to install!
Turned out beautiful, minus keeping those stunt pegs and not doing the seat cover. Well done. Fairings look great.

@Christopher Terrence it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D

@Musa Johnathan Happy to help =)

Few days after on Craigslist, "Mint 2005 Kawi 636, never been dropped"
I can't stand people that do this... 😑 I am one to let someone know as much as I know about the history of the bike

This is purely amazing 😍 I owns a 2013 ZX6R but no doubt the older zx6 is way much sexier especially with the under seat exhaust
I agree, the 03-06 636 styles have a special place in my heart. But those 13+ 636's are hott!
13 636 is actually best body style

That shits sick with it looking kinda retro green
I have the same bike. 19,000 mi. Runs great handles well, new tires and I got her going 153 mph the other day. Stoked!
Nice! Gotta love the 636!
Love seeing these bikes brought back from the dead
Looks killer! My 636 got stolen in Feb and I got it back three days ago, definitely going to use this as motivation.
Yes Rescue that beauty :D i love when people rescue old cars bikes and just overall saving vehicles im a huge bike fan and i just need a bike one day
