Jake you can use a zinc or marine grease thin coat on pins of calipers which should allow penetration of zinc into the metal pins. Otherwise this was a fine job man. As for R6 calipers. Steel braided lines would have been enough for Tokicos and a better master cylinder lever.
PSA: dont be like Jake. Take pictures of everything when you pull it apart because we all know damn well you're going to get distracted and come back a month later and forget everything.
I have a completely disassembled ktm 125sx that I can't remember how to put back together. If I took pictures before I ordered all the bottom end bearings, it would be much easier to reassemble.
An electronic rectifier takes the AC power from the generator & through a bridge rectifier changes the AC power & changes it to pulsed DC power. Then through different combinations of capacitors & resistors recgulates a specific DC voltage to give the bike the voltage power that it requires to run all of the other electronics, since they all require a specific DC Voltage to run properly. I learned this from DeVry to become an Electronics Technician. I have worked in electronics for 40 years. Most equipment I work on has one built in to convert AC power from your wall outlet to create the DC power that most all electronics use.
@@TheGardenSnake thanks, but not a wizard, just an Electronics Technician from DeVry who actually uses the knowledge they taught me for my work some 50 years ago.
Pretty sure the seat just holds the battery in on these, when I crashed mine the battery completely ejected itself, I’ve got a zip tie holding it in now though 😂
8:06 I absolutely hate having to do anything with batteries! My bike was assembled with the battery in wrong, and I was panicking as I was trying to get it fixed. Not to mention all the times I've nearly zapped myself when trying to jump-start the truck at work. (I fused the two battery clamps together once... that was fun!)
Regulator rectifier uses a bunch of diodes to make the sine wave voltage that the stator creates and makes it into a DC voltage that the bike can use for stuff. It also regulates it to less than about 15 volts.
@@BATTLEMAD241 In my defense, I did read that comment at like 4 AM. But yeah, fair, though I'll stand by the fact that anyone doing mechanic shit will have a physical stock of WD40 that's pretty large. Shit is just magical.
the Vacuum brake bleeder... here's a tip. I do this almost daily, because, well I'm paid to do it. If you have the line going straight up off the nipple, (and then go back down to the receptacle) in that first part, any air can only go up, and fluid can only go down (back to the calliper) so you know for sure you have all the air out when you get a solid line of fluid, there's no air getting back in because it goes straight Up hill. I did this first on a very stubborn car when there was nobody free to help by pumping the pedal while I worked the vacuum (like I said this was a stubborn car) and this simple trick of having the line going uphill before going down to the receptacle makes the job much easier and faster. but I'm still not going to share it with the old guy at work who thinks he knows better and takes twice as long and has to do it again over and over again until he either runs out of fluid or actually gets the result he is looking for.
Imagine I come late to these videos just so I get a chance to watch the videos without cliff hangers, and I arrive to this video 2 months after it has been posted to be told the next video won't be too long as Jake is working on it in the next day or 2 to realise that the video still hasn't been posted after 2 months 😂😂😂 bless him
a rotating magnetic field generates an AC voltage. a _rectifier_ converts it into a DC voltage. and then the _regulator_ does exactly what it sounds like... regulates that voltage to keep it at the level needed on the bike.
you gotta put oil on there... no you don't, there already a shit ton of oil on the surface you're sealing against and it's going to spread itself all over the rubber anyway. because clinginess and rotation... (unless the area was so grubby that it needed cleaning, but a finger smear is all it needs) you do it to get the torque right, not to make it seal, the only time a filter will refuse to seal is if the thread is out of alignment with the rubber seal (and yes I have seen that, and it's easy to spot while you are winding it on) and secondly, to all the people who claim you must fill the filter with oil... when it is on its side, or upside down like most NEW vehicles, you simply can't do that. and it doesn't hurt the engine on those upside down filter engines! and they use similar pumps pickups and bearings... just start and let idle until you hear the sound change to normal, then switch off and check the level after a couple of minutes (so the oil has time to drain back into the sump)
Hey Jake I bought the Same Front Calipers as what you put on. My seems to need spacers. I was gonna put them on my 2005 Zx-10R. Could you Maybe tell me what I would need to Mount them Correctly? What type of spacers I would need if I need any at all?
you know why his oil filter is hella cranked prolly from that crash he had where his oil filter came loose, after i saw that video i went out and immediately cranked my filter a little more.
Bro Jake insane news is going down The US government is trying to keep Kove motorsports and CF Moto out of the Country because you can connect your phone to your bikes! No Lies 👍 Also Good video Love watching your rebuild of this one.... This bike really was owned by a crazy person, Practically a salvage tittle 🤣
How long did it take to pass your kidney stone? I’ve never had one & hospital told me I had one about 3mm. They give me antibiotics and some lame ass pain med like ciro something. Anyways just curious. Don’t know what to expect or how long till I’m back to normal? Scared to death bro I’m young just got in my 30s.. PS soon as you said Kindey stone lol I instantly felt a Bond to your channel lmao
Just being Blunt and honest so how many more months is it going to take before he could get his bike back it's been way too long already. I know parts are hard to get sometimes but 6 months or more come on man drink some red bull and lets get this bike back on the road 👀🏁🇺🇸
I’m definitely going to give that oil filter one more crank 😂
Euphemism? Saving that for the OF content?
@gixxerbrah don’t want another oil leak on the highway
stop it
You lucky you got detailed folks around you. 🤌🏾🫶🏾🙏🏾

well not to spoil the joke but I know how it goes together, it's just a bit of fun for the video
"That's why god made fuses because I'm reta-" - felt that one in my soul.
yammieeeeeeee hey man
Hope this guy didn't build your busa before
lmao fr
Was watching gxsr bros vid until he said you have been making progress with the bike then came straight over here and boom here it is
You know some one has military experience when they talk about spending the budget to get more money. 😅
Any government job really

I've heard a lot of these stories from people like my Brother who was in the Navy
wonder how weird the 1000 is gonna feel for the brah after all this time
I bet hell still go straight to BP on it

Just went from a 14 minute long gixxerbrah video to a 17 minute long video of someone else working on gixxerbrah motorcycle 😂
“These guys should be put on an island somewhere”
They are, bro. They are.
Love watching you work on stuff!!!

haha thats what I figured it was
Don't worry about your posting frequency jake, we'll be here waiting
RIP doggo ❤
Rip to your dog. Solid video as always!
I'm glad someone else puts stuff down then immediately can't find it.
the regulater rectifier regulates the voltage and converts ac to dc voltage now love me lmao
Been waiting for this, thanks!
sorry to hear about you're dog bro..

Whenever I hear "darkweb" I always hear it as the skids in Letterkenny.
I cant be the only one that thinks Jake has stocks in WD40 because of how much he uses and how often.
As a mechanic, if you do mechanic shit a lot, you will have a stock of WD40 laying around along with some investments into it honestly.
It's too good.
I buy it by the gallon, not kidding
I meant that you have invested in the company😂

The regulator rectifier changes ac voltage to dc voltage and keeps it at proper charging voltage on most bikes around 14.2 volts
You can put tinfoil over the headers to keep the oil from getting on them..

Consider doing another bike build series like you used to do, those were great to watch
you can aluminium foil around the headrs to guide the oil over it and not get it on the headers

The way of the Bros. The regulator rectifier converts the AC power into DC power. And then Warren Gs that shit. Regulates the fuck out of it. 💪🏼
I just peeped the second video and then this gets uploaded w

Vaseline in the filter doesn't stop it from a dry start 😂 always put oil!!
We got to get you some quality stands, my man.
You’re supposed to pull in the clutch on gixxers to start them. If the clutch switch wires are tied together you are losing power from it.
oh he's got some goofy switch on there I'm fixing. I'm gonna do this clutch switch mod I did on my MT-07.

Well, all I’ve learned from the comments is that no one actually has a solid understanding of how a rectifier works.
Why can't i see this video in all of your vid but i can go to the playlist for his build and its there?
try now
8:50 so relatable...I hate when ur in that kind of mental state

What do you mean that once you crack open one of those brake fluid bottles they are basically used up?
They pull moisture from air
you are an expert in your trade my guy
Why did that fuse pop? Oh I hooked it up backwards. I'm re..
Did you delete the video with the valves ?
About time we get back to work on this thing
this video was over several months of filming, look how often my clothes change
If it doesn't relate to moving or stopping, the torque spec is for the lord to decide, that's what I always say
15:04 there is one thing you can do about it. just make a little aqueduct out of tin foil to channel the oil where you want it.
"these guys should all be put on an island somewhere" speaks volumes
I got a hobo freight air bleeder and it is da bomb
"It will not be a Long Time till the neext Update" 2 months pass and nothing but crickets....
Next day or two (13 days later) lol man life just kicks the nuts sometimes 😂
You should be saying "CLICK" out loud when you hit proper torque spec with the impact. Otherwise, they're not torqued down proper.
what ratchet are you using?
It uuuuuuhhhhh.... regulates and rectifies?
Sorry to hear you had to put your dog down. I remember when you got him, gah I'm getting OLD 😂
I'm feeling offended over here 🤣🤣
What up brehhhhhhhhhs!
OIL IN THE FILTER IS FOR NOT HAVING A DRY START NOT TO WET THE FILTER LOL WOW
I love how this bike is the epiphany of gixxer's. Owned and ridden by the brah, zip ties and all lmao
Herodotus spoke of this bike in his book
Tbf if you were there for his like 150mph crash because his oil filter backed out you would put one more twist on it too 😂
He's Ninja Brah now
maybe gixxer brahs bike was the friends we made along the way
Thought he was on a 750 that was purple
Waddup brahs
k&n filters suck these days. go for hi-flo brand instead.
learning computer, a neural net processor 👍👍
the real shame here is the dewalt tools the bikes fine dewalt cant handle that gixxer power
