I changed the supercharger clutch on my engine and i accidentally rotated the crankshaft anticlockwise just a fraction, i think that made the timing chain skip few teeth. I didn't start the engine but when i tried to rotate the crank shaft clockwise it got stuck.
Do I need to redo cam shafts and the timing chain?. If yes Can I make piston 1 half way down while the engine is still in the ski? And how do I know that the piston is in the right spot?
I would really appreciate your advice.
Excellent Video, thanks for posting. I'm chasing a strange erratic and temporary overheat (limp mode) issue on 2017 SX190 and wondering how far I'm going to go down the rabbit hole. Been suggested that I've built up sand in the head cooling passages. Again thanks for posting this video. Im good on two-stroke rebuilds but 4's are out of my comfort zone.

If I recall, the lower sprocket can be removed then you can put in on.

Great video have a question we have a AR230 2009. I like to rebuild the engine is there a place I can get the whole kit with gaskets. My problem I live in Mexico. I return to Florida all the time so I can pick up stuff. My engine is a MR1 HO

Yes by rotating them.
@@5StarPWC I want to upgrade the chain and cam sprockets on my '14 fx svho to the larger '16+ chain but wasn't sure if I needed the pricey $$$$ Riva spring compression tool. You made it look fairly easy.

The gear transfer drive bolt on the crank is reverse thread correct? Clockwise to loosen?
Why did you replace the timing chain, did it snap?
The engine was sunk while running and we had to rebuild it. This is the last step.
How to know if the crankshaft is in correct timing position?
If 1# piston is at TDC and the marks on the camshaft are lined up, when you rotate it around with a wrench everything will line back up again.
What oil are you using? and how many liters?
show how you got chain around crank not around cam gears please.
You must remove the oil pan and then separate the cases, then lift the crankshaft up a little to replace the chain.

I engine builder once told me you can remove or break chain then a oem chain ? kit? is used with a special link that connects to old and new chain to prevent spliting . special tool was involved as well. i can not verify this.

How did you get the chain on… absolutely no footage. Waste of a video
You have to split the engine case - center all the pistons as best you can and lift up on the crank about an inch and you can slide a new one in. The video was for someone who was working on the head. Thanks
