    Ali has an understanding of MMA that's crazy ... Knew the importance of boxing and wrestling in a street fight

    • @antwnisls
      @antwnisls Рік тому +410

      I think he was referring to the fact that he was probably around 50kg while that bully was 80kg+. Beating him in boxing was doable but in a street fight where one punch can end things, probably not.

      @@antwnisls I watched a vid of Ali, I think it was titled as his first interview, and he was asked who would win in a fight between a boxer and a wrestler. Ali gave it some thought and said the wrestler. I think he just believed a good wrestler would beat a good boxer most of the time

    • @xoxoxoxo5224

      Wrestling is terrible in a street fight. You go down to ground, friends of the other guy can kick you and knock you out, and if the other guy has a weapon in close quarters, you're done. In a street fight, boxing with movement and staying on your feet, always being able to run away, is king. Ali is just being funny and humble to tell the story and explain the size difference.

    • @1Flyingfist

      @@xoxoxoxo5224 Using that same logic, the guy's friends can hit you from behind anyway.
      Just don't get into fights in the first place. 🫣

    • @xoxoxoxo5224
      @xoxoxoxo5224 Рік тому

      @@1Flyingfist No, you’ve never been in a fight. If there are multiple opponents actively engaging, running is often the best course of action. Not a goer when you’re getting kicked in on the ground. A lot of guys won’t actively get involved in a two guy punch up because there’s easy retaliation. Movement stops people getting behind you. The moment you go to ground you are just screwed if the guys have friends. A weak dweeb can concuss you with a clean back to the head stomp. Search UA-cam for Wanderlai and Chael Sonnen when Wanderlai initiates a fight outside a ring, watch what happens.
