- The swim jig is a great way to cover water and find aggressive bass in the spring. It works well around the spawn but shines in the post spawn and shad spawn period. I share some of my favorite swim jig trailers in this video.

Another great day of fishing!!
Thanks Ryan
Some good tips on the trailers, the Rage Craw is my favorite. That Bass flopping in the boat gave Finley a rude awakening, Haha.
Thanks RWA. Finley was like "what the huh!!" Keep catching them buddy. Congrats on our new PB
“SWIM JIG TO THE FACE” I like the menace as a trailer too. I have one that I use called the Rocket Craw, its a Berkley Havoc bait. Has great action and lift for when you want to fish shallow around grass. Good video Gabe!
Cool. Lots of good baits to use. Appreciate the feedback.
I fished Cedar Lake Thursday morning. The spawning carp were blowing up the water. Distracting as heck!! Fun day on a beautiful lake!!
LOL Those things scare me every time. Makes me want to through a buzzbait or toad until I realize that it's carp
I like the Yum Money Craw. Older bait, but still effective. Also, the Zman Goat series of baits and Zoom Z Craw.
Thanks
The paddle tail zako is a really good swim jig trailer.
Swim jig has been a go to bait for you last few years . Thanks for sharing Gabe.
Thanks Bill
You have some beautiful lakes there. Hopefully, you can get the motor issues sorted out. I'm looking forward to some strip pit lake videos this summer 👍
I think I got the motor figured out. Just have to cough up the money to have it fixed.
If you like the ozark rig, try the core tackle swim jig. Phenomenal jig. I use three trailers, RI sweet beaver, spicy beaver, and little dipper as my main three. My alternates are SK rage craw, rage menace, and xzone swammer for a different look.
Thanks. Looks like a cool jig
Good job on another teaching video and sharing the knowledge Gabe. I love a swim jig bite when I'm fishing from the bank and you see the fish trailing it and it hits just a few feet from the bank and you see it eating the jig.Heart rate goes up and so does the smiles! Have a great day buddy and thanks for the videos.
Thanks Tom. Rapid heartrate and big smiles equals good times!!!
Well for starters I'm a little jealous I haven't seen the water that calm and over a month we've had nothing but Wind and Rain enjoy the video some nice fish you caught and some good information I appreciate that I think Finley might be trying to help you out a little bit telling you where to fish what do you think😊
Nice job Gabe, I like fishing the swim jig because you can cover some water. I usually have two tied on a white one and either green pumpkin or black and blue. For trailers I like a swimbait in cold or clear water, and a menace grub in stained or muddy water.
Appreciate it Jeff
My biggest fish were all this year after i picked up a swim jig!
It kills around the crappie spawn too.
Like a rage craw trailer most of the time although fishing patchy grass I switch to a boot tail swim bait trailer
Good call. Appreciate the feedback
My swim jig has been tied on for two weeks and, I'm loving it. I use a bluegill 3/8 ounce with three different trailers. First, the SK Rage Bug works well when I'm working it slowly and, the SK Rage Menace in Moon Juice to imitate the bluegill tail and the ZMan Baby Goat in The Deal. The Deal also imitates a bluegills tail. I used to just chuck it out, let it sink and hop it and that still works but, this week I tried another retrieve after seeing several follow my bait back to me. I swim it slowly trying to make contact with grass and either snap it out or give the reel a few faster turns once I hit the obstruction. I was never a believer in fish chasing my bait but, the way they are taking my swim jig while it's moving has made a believer in me! Caught a good 30-40 bass just this week.
Moon Juice is a nice color. Just bought a pack of those last year. Appreciate the tips.
Have you tried the new Core Tackle Swim Jigs yet⁉️
Not yet. Is it working for you?
Xzone Swammer
Thanks
You left us hanging on the motor problem! Nothing worse than engine issues. Hopefully nothing serious and you made it back to the ramp.
It's in the shop getting a new fuel pump
@@TheTinHorseMonty had my fingers crossed it was just flooded. Hopefully you weren't too far from the ramp or were able to get a tow. Had a similar incident many years ago when the fuel pump came unbolted on our old Evinrude. Unfortunately, we were all the way back at the beginning of the no wake zone on Kinkaid. Could pump it up and it would start and run until it ran out of the gas we manually pumped in. Finally let our son drive and had to manually pump gas to the motor with the bulb all the way back to Paul Ice. That was a long run and made for a sore forearm for the next few days.
lol. That’s basically what I had to do. Pump the bulb about every 7 seconds from the no wake to the marina. Luckily my tank is easily accessible
@@TheTinHorseMonty thank goodness you have a tiller steer!
Any updates on the Virtus rods yet?
Just seen that GSM has bought Dobyns rods Wow they are buying up everything.
I sent an email to GSM inquiring about the warranty on virtus jewel rods and it’s been crickets. Reached out on April 13th. Nothing back at all. … just listed my virtus jewel rod for sale at what would have been the warranty cost. Hoping it sells so i can recoup the warranty money to put towards a Cashion icon.
I'll reach out to GSM and see if I can get an answer. Sorry
@@TheTinHorseMontyno reason to be sorry at all. Dobyns was bought by GSM as well. It’s unfortunate is all. Yard sale and marketplace sites by me are now flooded with dobyns and virtus jewel rods. Avg selling price is $75 which is unreal.
Farrz. I just talked to GSM about your situation. They said to contact Virtus about the rod. Just google Virtus. They are handling all claims on their rods. Talked to the product manager.
