At that point, I moved to Junction City, WI with my wife Sara and two boys Hank and Duke. I've been fishing professionally since 2011 and full-time since 2015. I've qualified for seven MLF Championships and won over a half million in tournament winnings at the professional level.

Thanks Matt. I have been a little busy lately but heard you have done great on the trail. Glad to hear it and stay focused, I'm pulling for you.
I use a trailer probably alot of people use, the rage craw. I do use something I have never seen or heard of anyone using, that's the Stanley ribbit. I use a 1/4oz jig with it and it glides over almost any grass. No rod shaking needed. Up high or mid column it gets bit. When most people put the swim jig down because the grass is to thick I'm still using it. Good luck at Potomac, it's a great fishery maybe I'll see you out there.

I have gotten to where I treat a swim jig a lot like a bladed jig - I'll use a fluke type trailer if I'm doing the Alabama shake so that jig has more action to it. I feel that a boot tail trailer or a flappy trailer actually inhibits the action. If I'm out more in the open just fishing over hydrilla, the I'll use a Strike King Caffeine Shad. If I'm skipping or fishing under flooded brush, then I go with something stiffer like a Zoom Super Fluke or a cheapo Creme.

Love that idea with the chunk trailer. I would have never thought of that, but the logic behind it is so sound. Thanks Matt.

Use a R2S D walker (100 for up to 1/2 ounce, 120 for heavier) and you dont need to do the Alabama shake thing… it makes that jig rocking motion you mentioned. Much better than a Keitech; best boot tail for a jig I’ve ever tried.

Good suggestions as always. I typically used the pit boss or xzone swammers, sometimes the gambler ez swimmers. Not so much with the gambler swimmers anymore since you have to boil the tails out almost everytime since they get folded over in the packaging.

Living in Florida I pretty much only use Swimbait style trailers to imitate Shad shiners or Bluegill so I go with a River2sea Dwalk, Gambler Ez Swimmer, and a few other thicker Swimbaits to get the head moving. Saltwater Swimbaits are great because they are thicker plastic = more action.

i just started fishing swim jogs this year and bout some quarter ounce while from Dirty jigs. and on some 3.25 inch rage swimmers on the back to mimic shad and have caught over 70 bass on them already. one of my favorites so far. i can also skip this very easy as well

Twintail Grubs are the best all around bass jig trailer ever. You can easily swim them, hop them, drag them along, vertical jig and just plain punch them through matted thick cover. They can also be modified and/or attached in many ways. They are killer slow roll swimming baits.... anywhere in the country. Especially for budget $$$ minded anglers.

Always great information being shared! I've always tossed the swim jig but last year I've been throwing the swim jig around more lately and have really grown fond of it. My 2 favorite trailers, the strike king rage menace and rage craw. Definitely going to try a chunk as trailer and do the " alabama shake ". Always hear about it but never tried it.

The best way to describe fishing is.... it's like playing with a kitten and a piece of string. Sometimes they hit it on the move other times you have to leave it lay to the point where they can't stand it and pounce!

I agree about the boot tail for sure. Keitech does the job but the dipper works better. I also like the xzone swammer. Both have a rocking action. …. I use the dipper / swammer or a craw style like RI Spicy beaver.

    Dwalker 120
    Largo Shad 3.5
    Keiteck Fat 3.5.
The only swim jigs I use are Dirty Jigs.
For me, and the way I fish, these combos are $🎣

Berkley needs to bring back the Havoc version of the Grass pig, swims a lot better than the Power bait version. That said I find the old fashioned single tail grub to be very productive though it seems to be a somewhat forgotten lure these days .
