For all those that asked, here's part 2 of my Supra.
Spoilers for those that TL;DW (too long, didn't watch):
- After getting the motor torn down they discovered that the ticking was due to a broken wrist pin in cylinder 6. CP Pistons apparently includes .150" wall wrist pins (which ironically is a thinner than the stock 2JZ hardware).
- Motor was rebuilt with the same specs as the first one but with upgraded .200" wall wrist pins. Rebuilt motor lasted an entire 100 miles and 2 weeks before spitting the rod cap of cylinder 4 out the bottom of the oil pan and puncturing the side of the block. The shop had forgotten to torque down the rod bolts to spec and they backed out, thankfully I was only in my driveway when it happened and (Thank God) not racing or on the freeway where I could've crashed.
- Motor was rebuilt yet again and the car was healthy until March 2015 when I cracked the transmission case open at a racing event.
- Pulled the transmission myself and found out I had also broken a discontinued V160 countershaft, luckily I found one and had the transmission repaired. Reinstalled it 4 months later and the I've been driving like a granny ever since.
- Also, a clarification from the previous video, I actually found out I had cracked the pistons and bent the rods of the stock motor which had caused it to smoke, which was the original reason I upgraded the motor in the first place.
Thanks to all who continue to support me even though I almost never upload. I honestly really appreciate it and it means so much to me that there are still those of you that support me so wholeheartedly. XOXO Hugs and kisses. Luv - Frank - Авто та транспорт
I've definitely learned to be grateful for a running car. pushing the limits just don't reward the troubles anymore. great video
Those beautiful animations took you 2 years to perfect them, huh
Still a great video, welcome back old friend!
Damn Saitama! Back at it again with the white Supra!
+Tommy Huynh Dude. He is totally Saitama. I wonder why I didn't make the connection until now.
+Tommy Huynh stop fucking existing-that vine is cancer personified
Frank your animations are truly next level, I've missed it dearly.
Please come back and do regular videos.
+AzureSteel ye, i was going to say the same thing, i gotta say i missed the animations most xD
see you in 2 years brother
Love the fact that you put up a vid detailing your troubleshooting process - helps future tuners avoid the same mistakes. This is what tuning is all about - the intellectual pursuit of getting more power from the machine and learning the science behind how. Anyone can add bolt-ons to a car if they have a big budget but huge respect to those who take the time to understand it.
I'm so happy that you made an update video to your car. It's such a beautiful machine & to see that you keep the outside completely unmolested on the outside, but an amazing build on the inside. absolutely beautiful car!!!!
Thanks for sharing your story again Frank, I always enjoy listening to what you have to say about many things in life and I appreciate you're genuine response to many of our blights. Keep up the awesome videos and I hope you find your NSX soon!
welcome back frank! see you in another 7 months
Frank!! I am glad that you've continued to share your experiences with us these past years. I'm glad that you are still happy with the Supra.
So happy to have gotten an update about the supra! Obviously I wish I had one, and it wouldnt even need to be up to 900! 500 would be more than enough. Keep it up Frank!
Finally! I have watched your part 1 about 50-60 times thats how much i love that video and it was about time you made this video! Your supra is amazing
Frank you're back!!!!!!! your last video made me sell my GT-R and buy a Supra lol.
Love the animations and insight on engine's work. Thanks for keeping us updated Frank!
Thanks for making another video Frank, you're the reason I started my fitness journey. Hope you're doing good man!
Good to see you've still got the Supra
You need to give your car a name. After watching what your car has accomplished and been through I would consider it a street legend. Really enjoyed your videos man. One day I would love to own an MK4.

Glad to see you're alive Frank~
To be honest, I didn't understand anything in the video, nor do I have any interest in the video's topic. I'm just glad to hear your voice again, Frank!

I really liked the visuals. Great job as always.
Very well said, i know the feeling. I have a 900WHP supra and very rarely turn it up to full boost via AEM 12 position trim pot switch. Great video.
This video is so overdue that I had to re watch part one .. welcome back man !
Oh shit one punch man is back!!!!! Missed ya Frank!
Thank u for making this update video! Gorgeous supra btw.
Loved the animations haha really well explained! You should do more vids like that, really enjoyed it!
holy shit!!! ive been waiting forever for this! And frank dont quit racing :( just keep the supra to a safer hp level like maybe 750 and you'll have way less problems (y)

The Weld wheels look sick! Keep the vids coming!

i didn't expect a lesson on the mechanisms of an engine but i think i learned more from your animations than i have from any other video
Amazing video. very informative and well made
OMG just hearing his voice brings me back to his old channel and his old videos. Well time to rewatch all of them.
DAMN FRANK BACK AT IT AGAIN WITH ANOTHER VIDEO. WELCOME BACK SUPERSTAR
ey frank! you should make more auto instructional videos! i think you did a really good job explaining the different functions on your supra and I learned alot! it be cool if you could talk more about the cars internals or just random car instructional videos for us car enthusiasts~
Thanks for the update video Frank, I still miss your regular uploads. Hope you are well.
Beautiful car, thank god it still lives!!!!!!! Great video and explanation btw!
I miss you Frank
This was an extremely informative video! i liked it alot man!
How did i miss this update?! Glad its back in 1 piece. I was afraid it would be a story where the engine "grenaded" and you had to buy a brand new one and put that in. So awesome you got to enjoy your childhood dream car though! I'm still working toward mine!
Ha ha ... one does not simply add Weld wheels and huge drag radials on the back and say they're done racing ... you'll be back! My stock NA Supra is still chilling -- I want to drive it this summer, before going all ape crazy with mine as well (plus my 700 HP Impreza isn't happy with me either) ... but congrats for being back on the road just the same.
awesome car, and i admire your persistence.
Your work is quality every time, so upload frequency isn't even important. People should support you for who you are, not for what you can do/what they expect of you. Continue blessing others & living for the Kingdom! :)
More inspiration and wisdom. More positivity, more humor. Great again.
We miss you, Frank! Just glad to know you're still out there doing your thing. I'm just a fan, but i hope you're doing well and happy. Take care.

This is so dope frank ! I wish you'd upload more lol.
Hard lesson to learn but you're absolutely right, be happy with what you have.
Feet on the crank-shaft... OMG I'm dying here!!!

Awesome! Been waiting for a while!
Awesome animations man !
Just seeing this video is the reminders of just how amazing the car was and is Whish to own one soon
Wow what a journey for that supra, glad its back to kicking ass tho
awesome vid my friend, amazing car. thanks for the effort to show! thumbs up!
absolutely loved the explanations and goofy illustrations :) great teacher
Love The Story and the educational aspects of it also
Love your videos and I can relate about wanting more. Had my 93 supra in and out of the shop while increasing power and breaking stuff along the way. went from 400-1000+ whp and built the motor 3 times and now a broken v160 so car is down again. I plan to keep it on low boost which is around 700hp most of the time to keep it from breaking shit.
You are a great teacher!
Manuqtix any car that is used heavily for racing will be unreliable. racing is a sport for deep pockets.
Damn that's quite a journey you took with the Supra!
Bring that Supra back to life man
I was just one youtube thinking...what happened to Frank I wonder if he comes back and this shows up. Weird how the universe works.
HE RETURNS!!
