    - 10:1 compression built motor, Eagle rods, CP pistons, ACL race bearings, ARP head studs and main studs
    - Precision 6466 dual ball bearing turbo, 0.81A/R with SP cover, 41psi
    - OS Giken R4C quadruple disc clutch
    - Fuel Injector Clinic 2150cc injectors x6, dual Walbro 416 E85 pumps, dual feed center return Titan Motorsports fuel rail, -6 AN feeds and lines, stock return, Aeromotive FPR, GM flex fuel sensor
    - ProEFI 128 standalone ECM, tuned by Dave Jusko, flex fuel enabled
    - 19x9.5F and 19x11.0R HRE C95 wheels (street)
    - Tires for racing are Nitto NT-01 R compound 275x40x18 in the rear
The rest is too boring to list.
You know what? This will decimate all, after, you put about 15 grand in it, or more. And if we have to, overnight parts from Japan.
    EXCEPT heavily modified GTRs.

It's not that hard, nor is it expensive. You don't need high tech expensive turbo to get more power, just go to a junkjard or just find a ford power stroke diesel and smack it into the car lol

Excellent video. It exemplifies car ownership from a gear heads point of view. As you mentioned it went from a car you enjoyed on a daily basis to a car you rarely drive. I find modders usually either sell their cars once they've attained their goals or just keep upgrading. Is it the what if and planning that brings enjoyment or the final product? It becomes an expensive endeavor that never quite brings expected fulfillment. This is a wonderful video wish more were done like this. Hope you do it again.

This is a great message you're sending here. It's a story told over and over again by countless car enthusiasts. My story is sadly the same. You go out and beat on everything with your car until one day your number is finally up and you lose. Then comes the pursuit of avenging that loss again and again. Like you said it's a slippery slope. My car went from being an awesome reliable and fun DD to an all out race car that I barely drive for fear of having something costly go wrong with it again. It takes time to come to terms with the notion that there is always someone faster out there, and that's ok. Having fun is what counts, and honestly having a car constantly being tore down and built back up with months or even years of downtime isn't fun for me either anymore.

    • @AzNightmare
      @AzNightmare 4 роки тому

*The problem is that straight line racing in reality, is very boring and a one trick pony. When people lose, the only option is to just throw more money into it and build more power. Barring misshifts, if you lose the first time, you'll lose the next time, and the next time, and the time after again. Your car is simply outdone. Once you add turns and an actual race track, or even just blasting it around the canyons. People will realize top end power isn't everything, and there is so many things that can be improved, such as one's driving skill, better racing line, etc. Which in turn means, it's not all about just your car's power output, and flooring it flat.*

@@AzNightmare This comment was from 4 years ago. I used to do a lot of street racing back in the day. I have gone back to my first love of road racing and have done multiple track days at Mid-Ohio (home track). So essentially I agree with what you're saying. On the racetrack driver skill and the way the car performs are equally important.

I'm content with mine. I don't race it, but with all the upgrades, it has reached my desirability of a classic JDM machine with some flare. I can ride into the coffee shop with no boost and the car will become an instant celebrity. I can pass people on the highway with no effort and I will avoid more rock chips from semis. I can let off the accelerator and the blow-valve will excite all living molecules.

Respect dude. I told my friend who wants to buy a supra the same thing, this isn't a 240 or a honda or a bmw. This is a car that is going to require some financial sacrifice. There is nothing cheap about a supra and you can't just pick it up and be content, on top of you can't just pick one up and mod it like you can a cheaper and newer or older car. We don't have a huge abundance of OLD skylines in the US either so very few know that feel.

      Big Mike No.
Even though USDM might have slightly more HP and torque there's something special about a JDM Supra. It's a Supra in its most pure form, created in it's original birth land. Plus Japanese laws are extremely strict, they HAVE to maintain and inspect their cars every 2 years + on top of that, Japanese manufactured cars are more reliable to their USDM counterparts.
Sorry you US guys won't get to enjoy them until 2017-2020 because of your laws.

    • @derekmartin3126

The only real difference (besides crash ratings) in the USdm and jdm supras are injectors and brake calipers both of which are smaller on the Jdm Supra. I also agree that the jdm seems more pure of a Supra and that's the reason I own one (in us) 😉

This a great educational video and it reinforces the same lesson that I had to learned the hard way too. I've had some of those issues and experiences with a 1987 Buick Grand National that I use to own. Like Clint Eastwood used to say "A man gots to know his limitions."

Great Video, being an owner of an also heavily modded and expensively modded car. I completely have felt exactly what this owner describes. Lucky for me I figured it out early and set a goal that I have kept for the last 2 years. Sure my car can do 900whp+ but I'm super happy with the 700WHP I agreed on for balance of reliability and longevity. Now all do is enjoy the car and replace the screws that might need repainting or rust replacement.

Dude I really dig this documentary. You can tell how quickly you bonded with your dream car and that your sense of desire for more pushed you and the car to the limit. I agree with your moral lesson you put into this short film because I see guys with 800+hp cars all the time and they always say they are high maintenance and can take away from the fun. Definitely enjoyed this film and would recommend for any car fan to watch.

This is so cool to see now that I’m starting to get into cars, there’s something so comforting about how I can identify with a role model of mine a little more, especially when I feel weird for being interested in cars because I’m female and am worried if people believe it’s for attention/something similar. Hope you’re doing well Frank :)

very nice clean supra. I found it amazing that your internals held on 41psi without blowing and survived a drag day. I currently have a 94 silver n/a which will be turbo in about a year (due to my license restrictions, love australia... :l )

This was a very beneficial video
I think that from your 3 years of owning this amazing monster, enjoyed it a lot and that you don't regret as much. Coz it all comes down to experience. I bought myself a 800+ BHP Supra but I didn't experience the fun of modifying it just fixing and playing with it. I still don't regret it. Thanks for this video, and good luck.

you sir have made one of the best videos that I ever came across. not only does this video show one of the best cars known to man kind but some moral to what often happens when obtaining something you've waited so long to get your hands on. what you've went through and are still going through will probably happen to all in the same position. but unlike most you admit that it is a fault. but it won't be forever with the right mind set. great video hope to see more when its up and running again! thumbs up!

Well said at the end. Def makes it worthwhile watching the video. I have a 1200 how mk4 Supra myself and I'm tempted to drag it but fear getting addicted to it and all the spending that goes along with it on top of what I've already spent. Just wanna look at it when I want to and take it out for a spin every now and then

The whole time I was watching this video I was thinking "This is awesome but its TOO Much" I like when you had it stock with just a increase in boost to 420HP. I would have been happy as hell with that, I'm all about street ability.
I totally did not did not expect that ending and respect you very much for being honest. Im a big fan of Stu Hagens 1997 Supra Turbo. I love how he tried to keep it as stock as possible and "Built" on what Toyota did.
