- What’s better than having the fastest Supra in the 1/2 mile on the planet? Having a second Supra on your team as back up incase that one breaks! We headed down to the east side of the Caribbean to check out how Puerto Rico does 1/2 mile events, and we were not let down! Puerto Rico sets the standard AND raises the bar for 1/2 Mile Racing events! From the hospitality to the wide array of cars across the country, we were blown away! Facing a very strong headwind, the odds of re-breaking the 1/2 Mile Supra record were already grim, but the team faced issue after issue from turbos to trans across BOTH cars, fortunately they managed to get some great passes in and left smiling!

7:38 imagine being a child again. And you're walking down your sidewalk at night. Some guy does a launch in a Supra underneath a streetlight next to you at the green light. You see that silhouetted rear end suddenly vanish into the sound of absolute terror of the launch. I would never forget that moment and that car. How terrifying yet mesmerizing to experience that as a child.

You have a car making 5x the original power through the original clutch-operated H-pattern 6sp trans that is being shifted at 9000+ RPM on a very sketchy surface. Not to mention he's manually engaging the nitrous, which instantly shocks the tires loose... I'd say he did a pretty admirable job considering the circumstances. I'd LOVE to see a video of any one of you banging gears in a 1000+ HP manual trans car..

it was my dream too, but things went little bit different for me...and i cant afford supra BUT i have 2jzswap car with 760whp, but not a 9 sec car yet lol....because where i live stock supra cost around USD110k (equivalent) some more expensive...

i watched a vid on traction problems on full race super cars and one of the craziest solutions that actually fixed the problem but it is really complicated to fab up was, this team installed a large fan and ducting that actually makes the car suck to the ground at high speed. but it completely fixed the high speed traction problem. just a thought

Ekanoo's is the 1/4 mile on a prepped drag strip. This is a 1/2 mile on an unprepared air strip which changes the traction conditions quite drastically. The world record right now for RWD in the 1/2 mile is 227 mph by Sal Patel's old street legal, full interior 1999 Viper GTS.
Epotheros why lay claim and keep changing the rules....maybe someone will run 3/4 of a mile and then they can lay claim of fastest in the world....since we're claiming fastest....I'm guessing this is speed velocity and not time...guess we can open another bag of worms with that one

So many people criticizing the driver. The man drives a 7 second S2000... The conditions on this event were not the best. The car had traction issues and also the wind was terrible. The car has done 214 on a previous setup and a previous event.
Absolutely right, I raced my car that day and the headwind was insane(30mph+) and on top of that it is an unprepped surface with a lot of dust and dirt.Being able to reach 200mph on both cars in those conditions was an achievement.
Thats bs anyone can hear the car at max revs for 2-3 seconds before he shifts up dont sugar coat a sour turd!

Dude these cars are modified for these races, specially the white one which is the record holder.They are not meant to be street cars.The black one looks completely stock inside but the owner would not drive that on the street either.I met the owner and the driver of these two cars prior to the event at dyno, really nice guys and they do know their stuff, parts fail every now and then when you push a car this hard, thats inevitable. I will be uploading the dyno runs of the black one(1687hp) on my channel Flat Out Supercars

i honestly can't say exactly what he did wrong but I know whatever he did wrong he did a lot of it and often. i bet a softer launch would be a good start. i dont know how its set up but i probably would want to have the n20 kick in at a lower rpm to make up for gear changes... or i would wait and arm the N2o twards the last half so i am not on and off the throttle or losing traction when i get back on throttle. maybe he needs 2 stages of n2o, one 50shot for getting into the long gears and a 200 when he gets in to the long gears instead of knocking it over the head with 250 directly.

might not beat any of these records but my 51' ford f1 project will get started this year and it will have a turbo v8 ( not a LS ) single turbo capable of 1400hp fully built BOSS 4 bolt 302ci.
