In this tutorial, I'll show you how to remove dark circles/eye bags in Affinity Photo. With just a little bit of retouching, your photos will look better than ever! 😊
Another great and simplified lesson. Frequency Separation has always been a bit confusing to me, but you managed to explain and demonstrate very well, and remove some of the stigma associated with the difficulty of using this great tool - thank you!
I was confused when I first learned Frequency Separation, but it's so useful once you get the hang of it. 🙂
This is the best explanation of the Frequency Separation filter I've seen. Demonstrated and explained in an easy-to-understand manner. Thank you so very much.
Thank you! That's so nice of you to say 😊
I totally agree. Well done Ally.
easy to understand? not for beginners like me.
Very effective without a doubt, well done Ally.
Thank you! 😊
Wow, that's just next-level re-touching!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked the video. 😊
Wow! This was a real eye-opener. ( No pun intended!) I had no idea of what frequency separation was for, but now see how useful it can be. Thank you!
Frequency Separation is pretty unintuitive at first, but it's a great tool for retouching after you know how it works. 😊
Thank you. I enjoy this new tutorial. Because of your tutorials, I feel that purchasing Affinity Photo is worth it.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Affinity Photo is amazing!
Thank you very much. Finally a tutorial on frequency separation that is really easy to understand.

Thank you, it helped me to understand frequency seperation much better.
You're welcome! Glad you liked the video. 😊
Excellent demo!
Thank you! 😊
Another brilliant demonstration of, to me, a difficult to grasp concept. Thanks Ally

Thank you! Glad you liked it 😊
Brilliant presentation as per usual Ally!
I have a request: please make a video demonstrating the many uses of the Point Transform Tool in Affinity Designer.
Thanks for the idea!
Affinity Beta 2.6 just came out and has some great features too. I was anxious to see your opinion on it in a video.
I'm going to make a 2.6 video when it's out of beta, because the new features might change before the update is actually released.
Thank you for the demonstration i love these short video demonstrations. I do a lot of portraits airbrushing & need a way of turning a image to black & white but I also need to reduce the opacity of the image so it's like a ghosted image i need this for ticking up the artwork, could you help with a demonstration of how to do it? I know it seems easy but i really need the help.
Wow... I wish I had known this years ago... awesome!!!!
I'm glad you liked the video! 🤗
I wish it was that easy in real life! 🤣
For real! 😆
Let's get started!
Ohhh ya! 😄
Seriously , I have been mastering this stuff thanks to your UA-cam videos. I've gone from never having used Affinity or edited a photo in my life to putting out pro level headshots that are actually booking me busniess. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
@@Tremmor500 That's awesome!! Way to go! 👏
James Rison of Affinity Photo has a different approach on using Frequency Separation for Portrait photos.
I haven't seen his technique, but there are lots of ways to retouch a photo, so use whichever method suits you best! 😊
take that, wrinkles!
Poof! They're gone! 😄
tbh its better to use 100% hardness and something around 70-80% flow when you work with the texture layer, because its easy to mess with texture and make it too soft and messy.
Interesting! I'll need to give that a shot.
It seems you can do these same things without creating a high frequency layer and pixel layer. You didn't really explain these and why they are necessary. Sorry, i am a nubie, but I thought that was the target audience. I do very much love your videos though.
