I've watched all your Affinity Photo Tutorial videos more than once, I've learnt so much, once again thanks sharing your knowledge and ideas with us all.
You absolute stud! Can't wait to apply this in my own way for ideas that I have. Thanks for showing the tools that seem daunting or confusing for newer users.
DM!!! WHAT'S GOIN ON BUDDY!! Glad to see you back! The beginnings of the 3 vids that you've made since you've returned from your extended hiatus are frikn HE-LARRY-US!!! LOL. Your humor is to be admired Sir. So, now that I have despensed with the unformal formalities - QUESTION - I'm trying to make sure that I am looking at this right -- Pulling up 'Mesh Warp' using the Live Filters tab at the bottom of the Layers panel, that gives you the exact same non-destructive 'Mesh Warp'... Doesn't it? Or does there exist a difference between those 2 in some sort of way? Nice to have you back brother!
Hey Comps, good to see you! You are absolutely correct - using the Live Filter tab is doing the exact same thing, I just like to lay it out for some who have never used it. Hope your well!
Hey, Do you mean how do you separate certain sections so they aren't altered when you pull the other portion around? If so you just have to click with the warp tool selected and create new nodes, this will apply a new line and you can go around to chop it up. If I misunderstood I'm sorry - let me know!
@@rejointrident Hey with your mesh warp tool open double click on any existing line (top, bottom, right, left) and a new line will appear, you can add as many as you'd like.
Very clear information, particularly about using the live filters. Thanks.
I'm glad it's coming across well - I never know when I'm recording it. Thanks so much for the wonderful comment!

I'm so happy to help! thanks for watching Red!
@@bydesignmethod My pleasure!
I use MS PowerPoint and GIMP but this is a very useful video.
Thanks! I've heard GIMP is quite powerful.
@@bydesignmethod GIMP actually has more blend modes than Photoshop [38 to 27]. Each software has something unique to offer.
Thank you for this helpful tutorial. Does this work in V1 as well?
Great question, I no longer have V1 to test but I do believe the mesh tool is available as a live layer in V1 as well.
@@bydesignmethod Thanx
Another masterpiece! Great video.
Thanks Dusty! Appreciate ya!
I think they are called Bezier handles and control points.
You're absolutely right. Thank you for adding that!

They're called "handles"
that's the word I was looking for!
I'll never understand why the good version of the tool is hidden in a menu instead of making it the default on the toolbar. Thanks for the info tho
I know right?
Awesome, Thank you.
You're so welcome! thank you so much for watching!
Your tutorials are pretty good, live filter ftw looks like every time eh
Thank you very much. Live Filters are the way to go.. change em, delete em, whatever!
@@bydesignmethod sure looks like it! Thanks great channel
Why if I raster the image I want to distort (be it perspective, or distortion with mesh but using live filter) many areas are filled with black?
is this a background image or something on top of the background? can't say I've ever seen that. Can you send me a picture? bydesignmethod@gmail.com
dude but how do you divide the mesh?

@@bydesignmethod hi thanks for the reply. i meant how to add more rows or columns inside the mesh. ty

they are Bezier handles
you are correct! thank you. My mind was elsewhere at the time.
