you should try setting forums for your top mud for coping first ,then use a tool crete concrete sprayer to shoot on your face mud for tile and carve the face flat and plum , set your tile and then you have a clean edge and you know your elevation and pitch for coping is spot on because your already set the mud for elevation . thin set and grout and then you know everything is one solid piece
Excelent work, thanks for sharing. Justo got one quedaron, after installing tiles you put concrete from outside? Does the concrete stick to tile or is it an adhesive?
Please help, so from what I understand here and all other videos you have regarding waterline tiles and coping, I have these questions. 1. For mortar bed, you used half Portland and half Type-s, any bonding adhesive ? or just those half and half? 2. Once the mortar bed / beam is aligned, do you wait for it to dry then apply thin set on it and on the tiles? What thin set do you recommend for pool tiles, not glass tiles. Thank you
Wow I am very impressed with your skills. From one pool guy to another and if you don't mind me asking, what's the mix you're using as a mortar bed for tile? Watching you true up that wall for tile showed me I've been doing it wrong. Thank you for posting this video.

So you’re not going to be concerned with the cold joint that’s maybe 1” above the center of the skimmer throat? Why not set the coping first then brown the waterline then waterproof the waterline then tile?
Once the wall is level it looks like you are installing the coping similarly as you would laying tile. Would you agree? I ask because I have seen others completely butter the coping stone vs using a trowel with teeth like you are doing. TIA

Hats off to these guys, this is a great example how should strive to work and flow seamlessly!!👌🏼
Coping should be set before tiling pool guys. That's just basic fundamentals. But do your thing.

I like my way better. But everyone work different ways. I save time doing my way.
Very good job man. Excellent work and excellent installation
@MT82 Man Pedal tile, coping, plaster. How it's been for a hundred years. You're very uninformed
@MT82 Man Pedal please give me your obvious reasons lol. The cantilever forms literally stick to the damn tile! Hahaha

The dude in the background with the shovel cracks me up bird watching.......Awesome pro doing the tile work though. I'm learning a lot!

What do you do with the gap between deck and bck of coping

What is the tool you’re carving the brown coat with called? Where did you get it?
it’s just a I-beam level that I shopped smaller
So what goes in between the gap of the stone
What you do when the coping is shorter than the bond beam? Coping is a 9 inch bullnose brick and beam is a 12 inch
LOWPEZ I had done some Like you’re saying. I did like soldier line on the back. But it’s hard to say without look at it.
Great video!
Maybe an obvious question but what material you used for a tile bed, tile glue and coping glue?
Vladislav .Kopetskiy we always use Portland base for mortar bed and thin-set to glue tile and coping(laticrete 254, custom products)
@@aquamasterpools9654 thanks a lot!
@@aquamasterpools9654 WHAT KIND OF COPPING MATERIAL YOU USE?
Good 👍👍
what grout should I be using if I'm redoing some natural stones in my coping?
On coping you can use regular mortar ( sand + type s cement) ratio=2:1.

great video more detail on next one please...
How you fill joint between tiles? and which martial to use?
use grout mortar. you can buy at home depot
Could you not get bullnose for the skimmer boxes ?
Good video but if he put bats to make level forts it’s way fast to do the tile job
No waterproofing at all??
Great video, but you didn’t show grouting the coping.
rotfan77 I’m working on a new video. I will include the grouting part. Thanks for bring that up.
No sealing needed?
They did after I finish.
Help please... when you add the mortar bed for the tile do you add any bond to the mortar or only water? Thank you
use some thin-set as bonding agent or some bonding adhesive! when i do glass tile i use some mortar acrylic fortifier.
@@aquamasterpools9654 hi could you tell me exact ratio of mix you use for the mortar bed .
ratio is 2:1 2 of sand and 1 of cement (half Portland and half type s )

How long did this take?
2 1/2 days, just because we had to do a lot of cuts on the travertine.
So what did you use to make the shape making a square again and then what did you use to raise the beam
Elliot Agosto just used the level to make the shape. Beam was almost the right level. So I just use regular mortar to float the beam for coping!

I just use waterproof on Raised walls or when it’s glass tile.
