Thank you Nicole, I love your pool, you are an inspiration. I'm building a pool similar to yours in Puerto Rico, similar size and similar tile. Thank you for making the video and posting it.
How did they hold up. I tried this in 2009 and thought I did everything right but they all fell off. I believe I used the right motor but didn’t use the glue you used. Our pool fills up high w water sometimes in winter so thinking maybe tiles were at ice line? Thinking about doing one side with the glue you suggested, and see how winter goes. Also I have a humidity tester bc we were doing our basement floor , not sure what the min humidity should be.
oh god you are a rock!! i have a hill and a 15m waterslide but want to make a concrete one (safer)....but its hill work and a lot of cement so not sure im up to it .....so im watching you for inspiration. thank you
Your doing so well Nicole, 😁 we go to Bali every year and see stunning plunge pools, it's definitely the way to go, who wants to look after a huge pool, not me ... I'm watching every episode you put up, we are thinking of using a 5000 gallon plastic rainwater tank as a pool, still looking at options though lol, the tiles are beautiful, maybe we could use tiles also, I'm unsure on a round pool but maybe small ones like you have used would be fine ... it gets sooo hot where we live and NEED !!! a pool badly ... watching from wide bay Qld Australia 🇦🇺 😁😁😁♥️
I wonder how it looks now. I lived in a rental with a pool which was lined with these type of tiles and it was horror, grout was impossible to keep clean and the so many little tiles had fallen out or were broken.
Excellent Greetings from Puerto Rico. I am building one like this at home. I recently retired and it's just me my wife and a 10 yr old daughter of ours. What are the dimensions on this pool?
I’m hoping this works out Because this looks like it was done very wrong. Did you use mastic instead of thin sets and you should have used an epoxy grout instead of a regular grout.
So epoxy grout? I am getting ready to do my water line tile and stopped by a tile shop. They tolde to use regular grout. I been worried that is wrong advice. Especially with salt water.
vince king Old post, but you can use regular grout. Thing is you have to check the specifications to find out if it can be used where tile is submerged, and how many days before you can fill the pool. Same goes for thinset. Not sure if that premixed mastic she used is meant for underwater. Anyways, mapei makes a rapid setting thinset and grout that allow you to fill with water after 3 days. Most grout and thin sets require 21 days.
I have some tiles fell off from the top edges of my pool and fountain, I would like to put them back. What is the glue compound you used? Need details, so I can get it locally. THANK YOU!
Hi from the UK, you channel came up in my feed, as a former trades person (carpenter) I think you're very good, but what I picked up on Nicole was your attention to detail and getting things right, I noticed this as I have the same trait , I was wondering whether you are a Virgo ? I'm not really into the horoscopes but this quality is a Virgo trait and it is very accurate.
No, not at all. The tiles still look great and are easily cleaned after the winter. Sometimes I wish that we did the whole pool with these tiles (as maintaining the paint takes much more work!)
Pink primer that's probably acrylic primer ... Not ideal for a swimming pool... Try synthetic penetrating primer , tanking and S1 tile adhesive not acrylic ready mix tile adhesive you will thank me after this winter (if you are in a country where you don't have a winter I am guessing this is fine as long as the render is water proof )... Also epoxy grout is a better option for grouting as it's stronger and easy to clean
The whole swimmingpool? In total around 6 months I think (before winter around 4 months and after winter two more). Only working during weekends and at holidays. Greetings from Amsterdam!
I have a large cement pool and would like to do the same as you. However my pool is already painted (epoxy paint). Will the adhesive stick to the paint (assuming acid wash is done), or do I have remove epoxy paint via sandblasting?
When we started, it was already complicated enough... We were afraid of leakages for example not being professional pool-builders. Maybe I would put a drain if I do it again, having more experience now. However, a submersible pump works also. We do not drain the pool often anyway.
@@MichaelBoerop can you explain to me why it seems you put no hardcore or crash and run stones under concrete on the soil.you put your cement straight on to plastic sheeting and you did not join the rebar up to the bottom blocks tie them in is that ok to do
You are great but you got a lazy husband and lazy kids too, I saw none doing a damn thing to help you, but you are great and did a grwat job, sorry about my comment about your family
Don't mind! The kids are often pretty lazy... I guess a usual problem with teenagers. But my husband is not at all! He makes the videos and likes people to believe he does nothing 😊. Besides supporting me, he cooks, cleans, does all the shopping and does the laundry. What more does a woman want 😍.
Thank you Nicole, I love your pool, you are an inspiration. I'm building a pool similar to yours in Puerto Rico, similar size and similar tile. Thank you for making the video and posting it.
Thank you. I live in San Diego and the quotes are stupid expensive.. this explains in about 3 simple steps . ..thank you

Brava Nicole, ottimo lavoro. Well done👍
Nicole is my hero. If you want it done right, do it yourself.
Wow Nicole you did splendid job on that tiling work.
Did she practice this on a pool down the street or something. I am watching this from beginning to end and each step is done with ease. Even the TILE!
How do you know how to do this?? Very impressive. Come to Washington, DC and help ME build a pool !!
oh god you are a rock!! i have a hill and a 15m waterslide but want to make a concrete one (safer)....but its hill work and a lot of cement so not sure im up to it .....so im watching you for inspiration. thank you
Hi Nicole,
Nice Job and well done, what kind of Glue & Grout you use or apply.
Regards
Haider
Gorgeous job!
Good taste in tile, and clothes. Nice job, thanks for sharing. Will look for the rest of the videos. I want to see the finished pool.
Nicole you used a tile adhesive that clearly states in the specifications NOT to be used in swimming pools
I noticed the same thing. Glue is for indoors! You must use thin set cement!

Is that mastic? Or an actual mortar? How long did it take to cure and where did you get it from
Excellent
Greetings from Puerto Rico. I am building one like this at home. I recently retired and it's just me my wife and a 10 yr old daughter of ours. What are the dimensions on this pool?
I just love her working boots .....
She likes this! Thx!
Well how long did it last.
Great Job. Greetings from Venezuela Nicole.....
Excellent video. Thank you. What is the size of the tiles?
Can we put in bottom of pool?
Can we try in wet floor?
How much time to take for dry the tiles?
Inspired ✨⭐️✨⭐️✨
Dankje!
Great Job Nicole..
But better waterproofing to be done first

Beautiful job!!! I will use this video to build Koi pond.
I’m hoping this works out Because this looks like it was done very wrong. Did you use mastic instead of thin sets and you should have used an epoxy grout instead of a regular grout.
Thank you for your nice response. Yes, The tiles are all still in place and the pool is great. The children say :-)
So epoxy grout? I am getting ready to do my water line tile and stopped by a tile shop. They tolde to use regular grout. I been worried that is wrong advice. Especially with salt water.
Sorry, i have no experience with salt water, yet.

I have some tiles fell off from the top edges of my pool and fountain, I would like to put them back. What is the glue compound you used? Need details, so I can get it locally. THANK YOU!
We used Eurocol 681: www.forbo.com/eurocol/en/681-marmercol/e975hj
But do you know the reason why they fell off? Maybe the concrete is humid?
The best tinset for the glass tile its platinun #254
And make sure u have a amastic on the top off the tiles! Or deck o seal
S1 tile adhesive for sticking back the tiles make sure you prime it first
Hi
Thank you for telling me the name of these ceramics that you stuck to the pool
Mosaic tiles 🙂
Not ceramic. Not tile. It's glass.

Yup, I’m a Virgo so I can relate! Going to try this on my pool steps. Thanks for the video.

Why not keep the tile whole and just fold it over to cover the top edge of the pool? This woman has skill 😎
Too slippery it will be a hazard
Hi Nicole, what are the dimentions on this pool? Did you install any pool filter or pump?
Hi Alexander, check my channel for verything about my pool.
What kind of adhesive did you use ma’am?
I used Eurocol 705. I guess as long as it is good for pools, you can use it.
Since this video was made, have there been any failures with the tile due to the premixed thinset you used?
No, not at all. The tiles still look great and are easily cleaned after the winter. Sometimes I wish that we did the whole pool with these tiles (as maintaining the paint takes much more work!)

I cannot believe that the glass is not falling off! You should NEVER use glue in a pool!!! Thin set cement only!!!
Linda ! Linda ! Linda demais! Congratulations!
Esta mujer es genial 😀👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👍🏾
I would have put a floor all around it with coping on the edges. It would have made it look official.
How many weeks did it take to build it?
The whole swimmingpool? In total around 6 months I think (before winter around 4 months and after winter two more). Only working during weekends and at holidays. Greetings from Amsterdam!
Where can I purchase this tile? And what's the name of it?
We bought it in the Netherlands at the 'Hornbach'. Big German DIY shop. I have no idea if you can buy them from abroad online..
It's not tile. It's glass.
Que medida tiene la piscina
Love it!

Why didn't you put a main drain in the bottom of the pool???
When we started, it was already complicated enough... We were afraid of leakages for example not being professional pool-builders. Maybe I would put a drain if I do it again, having more experience now. However, a submersible pump works also. We do not drain the pool often anyway.
Well done...definitely better squeegees than the one you used though! 👍
Great video but the music drove me mad !!!!!
Where is the last episode?
Episode 7 is online, now. Last one takes a fews weeks. Grts!
@@MichaelBoerop can you explain to me why it seems you put no hardcore or crash and run stones under concrete on the soil.you put your cement straight on to plastic sheeting and you did not join the rebar up to the bottom blocks tie them in is that ok to do
Como ago para conseguir
How do you drain it without a main drain?
Small pool, a plunge.
How do you get rid of the water? Do you use a sump pump?
Mawallah
Quanto gastaram nesta piscina
Muy bien
🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰awesome
No drain?
Small pool.
I guess you wouldn’t have to have a drain in a small pool
Pump out the water when required 👍🏻

She has her husband out of sight that won't let her get too far off course shot outs to her husband
Is this a spa, or a bath tub? Literally can't call this a swimming pool, you can't even swim from side to side lol
Why such a small pool and why are the teenagers so lazy not to help???
