I know y’all have to be just as excited as we are when we say this section of cabinets is DONE! We will still need to add paint and trim, but those are minor details compared to what we have done thus far. Taking in all the sunshine we can, we embark on a projects we had been putting off for a few years now. Luckily, Ladly Rue was able to help.

I got to say thank y'all. I started watching y'all build y'all house last month started at episode 1. Mid way though I was watching episode 22 when my mom called me and told me my dad was in a semi-truck accident. He passed away in the accident. And through all the sleepless nights I turn y'all on and help me fall asleep in a weird way. And all the encouraging speeches y'all give at the end. It has helped this ol boy. Also had inspired me to build my home as well. Y'all keep up the good work it's awesome.

It is clear to me you folks are not allergic to work! We are watching your house building playlist IN ORDER so we are NOT actually watching this episode now, but we wanted to leave ya’all a comment. We did most of the hands-on work building our home in the late 80s. A lot of things have changed since then, but your work brings back a lot of memories. We wish you many blessings!

So glad to see little 3' is feeling better! And that purple "go to town dress" is just to much of a cuteness overload. 🥰 Jim, you should be very proud of those cabinets. I dare say not many of the people watching this video (including me) would have done as good of a job as you did. Love the bedroom walls and the tree looks great!! Looking forward to the counter top video. Love to all of ya'll from all of us.🙂

Love ya'lls program. Great that you folks partner so well. As to the discrepancy with cabinets to ceiling, trusses. Especially if they were engineered/manufactured. First house I did had 40 foot span, outside to outside wall. Had an inside wall, kitchen as well as big bedroom. 2 1/2 inch to top plate. Do not try to pull it down. Build to it especially if confident with floor level. Trim and caulk are your friend. $1300 on materials for cabinets? Fantastic, especially in these times. The house I am in now was basically constructed by me. Took me six years to get a CO. Rudimentary kitchen but all the essentials. Wife finally decided to move down here after the big house was burglarized. Harping on the kitchen. I had tile counter tops but only 4x4 posts underneath. Some shelving underneath. My bathrooms were beautiful, four of them. I found every toilet beside the road. I know my toilets, they were quality. As cabinets are concerned: went to Lowes and wife had a very capable advisor on the project. Came together very well with a great contractor doing the work. 44 K, may be a few appliances thrown in there. Still a huge amount as my first house was 53 K. I love what you folks are doing, not sure if the rank and file are up to the task. One comment on SAFTEY: Make sure your wife keeps her beautiful hair away from any rotating shaft or chain. Do not wear a necktie in a machine shop around lathes nor run an industrial drill with a chest length beard. Much Love.

Nice work, guys. Keep plugging away… what a dream life. Wish I started younger on this sort of path. It takes a lot of screws, nails, and a big mitre saw… but the most expensive aspect is “time”, and you spent it well.

Talk about divide and conquer. Yall killed it this week. Capt. Croc's - those cabinets look amazing! You said there were mistakes made but I can't see a single thing wrong with them. I did have a question though. once the wall next to the fridge is trimmed out, is there going to be any clearance issues with the fridge door opening? I couldnt tell from the video but looks pretty close. I like the texture walls as well and it makes the room really come together. Sure was good to see the little Miss enjoying herself and helping with cutting down the little trees. That was precious!! And that tree... wow!! what a beautiful tree and ginormous. great job trimming it up! Lastly, I sure hope yall werent too taken aback by Sunday's comment. Just seemed a little outta place for what yall normally do. Well, I had a great break today so back at it. Enjoy the rest of the week and looking forward to seeing what you bring us on Sunday!!

Bodie!!! Thank you very much! We were thinking the fridge might be too tight for the doors to open fully but it is looking like we are going to have about 1/2” of clearance on each side. Suspended ceilings are hardly ever level - a lot of kitchen cabinet designs will have an inch gap between the top of the cabinets and the ceiling. Its then easy to cut an inset trim to fix between the cabinets and the ceiling - cut to accommodate the changes in levels.

Hey just an FYI. Refrigerator's need to have air movement. If you completely close in that refrigerator there will be no air movement. It will decrease the efficiency of your refrigerator and freezer, and it will also be hard on your compressor. I love watching your videos. You guys are doing an awesome job!!

Just a small detail - if you don't level your fridge, Ice makers are a PAIN!!!! They are designed to make individual cubes not one long connected brick of cubes and when you aren't level this is what happens. I dealt with this for a while when we bought all new appliances thinking the unit was a peice of junk!!! Then I leveled it and it works like a dream now haha

Great work you two and 'almost 3 foot timer'. What's with the garden tractor project Jim got in Texas?

Just an F.Y.I. , I know that you like texturing your walls , but a texture gun with a hopper is far faster and you can make it s thick or thin as you want , just pour the mud in and pull the trigger than wait , ust like you are now for t to dry up a bit and knock it down as you like with a texture scraper or whatever you have een using , you can have an entire 12 by 12 room done in abut 20 minutes , the un is about $ 45.00 and you can also use it for popcorn along withmay oher kinds of wall or ceiling projects .

So glad your little one is feeling better. Have you thought about staining the cabinets vs painting?

Thank you! We definitely considered it but we always planned on a particular color. I believe they would be beautiful stained and painted though 😁
