Little trick for you. When you intend to keep your bottom plate across door openings...before standing the wall take a Skill Saw and cut about 1/3 of the way through the plate on the bottom, so when you cut it out not only is it easier you do not even risk hitting your floor and wearing out blades, etc...
Yes this makes it so much easier I was going to give Jim this tip but glad to see you did
Thank you so much!!
You Guy’s are so.. funny. Love when Jim says “we have never done this but we watched some videos” all the time lol. 🙏🙏🙏Blessings
Haha we just like to be real with y’all!
Almost 100th episode 🎉
🥳🥳🥳
Princess Ladley is just the mirror image of her Mom - same eyes, same cheeky grin! Jim, you just wait till she's a 'Teenager', you are so going to have your hands full! In the meanwhile, just love the little girl to bits, so precious!
🥹 I love hearing that. Everyone always says she’s a mini Jim!
every time I watch these folk,s juss somethin special bout em. juss lovin it! in awe of u 3!!
Drumroll please….💯 is on the way 💃🏻🕺🏻👀
Make it a double please 🙏🏼
❤️🥳
Jim & Lydia, You work so well together, Reminds me of Myself and My Wife , we'd always tackle these jobs together , And yet You always keep a positive smile on your faces, No wonder your little Girl always has a smile for us 😃 Take Care and keep up the Great work , You're such an inspiration
Looking good.
That's the way I sheetrocked arches.(don't anymore I'm retired)
My biggest one was 16 ft for an opening between a living room and dining room.
It was my first attempt.
I had several days of mental anguish before I started. I tried starting with an eight foot section which kept breaking apart. So I went to had to do four foot. I had to have help holding one end too.
Lady's "pushy pop" clip was so cute.😊
Always wanted a pantry. Finally have one where I live now.
It's a 4x6 with sliding pocket door. Three tiers of shelving on three sides.
As always wishing you the best in all you do.
Love you guys
Sounds like I am doing something right if that’s how you did it Jim!
Oh my lanta. You won’t hear my complain one time about the size of ours! I bet it ended up looking phenomenal. Section by section for big doorways is a good thing to know! I’ll put that in my back pocket.
She is an absolute hoot.
Sounds like a huge pantry! We are so happy for you Jim!
Hey Jim it’s michael from down under here again ,that nice new trowel is even more handy than you think
When you are taping instead of putting it down to get a knife just put it where you want the tape to end and tear it off like you are tearing a recipe fro a machine
Hey! Thank you for the tip!
wow! That looks great! .. and kudos for making the best of the unplanned armadillos motivation session. You just don't hear that every day ... 🤣🤣
Haha, next time we WILL be filming!!
I got a big check when you said you didn't want to travel to get corner bead! It's your house and I love watching the progress ya'll are making. If you aren't putting in a door then as sure as God made little green apples you're going to be coming in or out of the pantry and bang one of those 4 corner. Even using corner bead it will get hit soon or later. Corner bead is cheap and easy way to avoid a corner gouge. Better touching-up a flake of paint coming off of a corner bead than repairing a divot on an unprotected corner. Just a thought.
We are going to build a frame for the door to sit in to go around the edges. That is pure luck though. I’m glad you said this to keep in mind for future doors!
Pantry is looking good. Ladley is just super cute! Don't believe Jim seen an armadillo as no photos 😂. Thanks for sharing guys.
The 'slice the back of the sheetrock' is a common solution to do arches. When I do them I slice the back then flip it over and run some blue tape along the outer surface. This holds the strip together nicely. I have also used PL Premium and just adhesived the section in place. Some blue tape will hold it till it dries. Small pieces are harder to screw in without breakage. It seems simple to you now because it really is and you gained more self-confidence.
It just occurred to me to inquire if you ever considered a way to get up into the roof cavity quickly in case of a bad storm or flood potential.
I like the pantry there in the corner that's going to come in handy when you're cooking!.
I agree with Ladly, you just can’t beat a good push pop!!
Damn Ole Jimbo, you killin it man!! That looks almost perfect! I like the texture of the ceiling to Lydia. You all are doing an awesome job!! One day, I will be as good as yall😂😂! But as always, I love the video and try to stay out that heat 🥵🥵it's a hot one!!

Well now you have done it!! You are going to make me choose between "cookies" or "pushey pops"! Dang, I never knew following ya'll would be so hard!!😁 Oh, wait,.......Ill just have both!😃These kind of decisions prove how smart I've gotten in my old age. Oh and the pantry looks nice too.😉
Hahah Pushey Pop. I always look for your comments! Always makes me smile. Being an adult has its perks.. pushey pop & a cookie. If you’re really wild, you have them at the time same!😁🤣

Hey ya'll, don't know if you have ever used plastic grocery bags to do your texturing, might give it a try it. Just an idea have a good day!!
I have seen that! We might try that for the ceiling if my arms get too tired!
Another great job. Y'all rock. 👍👍❤❤..
Thank you Larry!
Looks great, soon to be the next project checked off the list.
Think it's time for a 'Jim's outfit of the day' portion of your videos. 😂
I need to show his side of the closet. 😂 the camo is color coordinated.
@@CajunCountryLivin closet looking like paint swatches at the Home Depot or Lowes 😂
Turned out great!
I love me some Push-up pops. Your going to want corner bead on there your tape job is beautiful but its going to crack over time or if you bump it with say a pan.
Yes, thank you! Love all the tips!!
Turning out great guys!!!! Awesome progress
I would love that ice maker! I would like to try it out. It would come in handy in West Virginia it is very muggy this year.
Excellent job as per usual jim but rhe corners aren't just to make it easier and look pretty they for impact protection to so you will need to be super careful going in and out if your not putting a frame and door in. Amazes me how easy you make it look welldone.
Thank you so much!
You could have wet the back of the gyprock, Jim, that will help you bend it, thats my tip for next time.
Looks good!
Enjoyed it. Happy 4th. Thanks for sharing
First!! Yay! It's really looking great. Alot of work for sure!

Push-up pops are the best

Thank you Mr. Timothy. We are replanting our garden this week.
@@CajunCountryLivin to hot here, will be doing mine about the 20th of Aug time to harvests before my 1st frost in mid Nov.
Good old drywall and Dap are for forgiveness, for all those gaps, holes and uneven butt joints. Looks good all around and the archway.
Thank you!
What is that little saw called that Jim used to cut the wood piece on the pantry entrance? I need to get me one of these. Could you post a link please. Love your channel.
It’s an oscillating saw. We love ours! Link is below.

Buen trabajo megusta
So very sorry. I hurts when an animal who you are responsible for gets sick. This happened to our grandson’s first milk cow. He has a healthy milk cow that is feeding their baby son. A lot of work but definitely worth the time. My prayers are with y’all.
❤️
Hi, I’ve asked this before, but I don’t see a light or wall switch for the pantry? Love the videos.
Hi! We will show y’all what we are planning in Wednesday’s video.
Remember to insert a valve inside the pantry on the outer wall
Thank you!
Thanks for suggesting this. May I know what valve and what purpose would it serve? Thanks.
@@oldporkchops It is important that the food to be stored in the pantry stays fresh
Nice.
Thank you!
Transformed that pretty good!! Quick question... Is there going to be a light in the pantry or is there enough residual ambient light that you wont need one? I cant wait to see what yall figure out for the door. Little Ladly Roo is so stinkin cute with her push pop.. Have a great 4th yall!!!
There sure is! Wednesday we will solve the light mystery hahah.
We can’t wait either! 😅
You as well! Y’all be safe!!
Hu guys 👋 I see you using some hart power tools. I have a weed Wacker and blower, but nothing else. Have they been working good and holding up for you?
