Hello Ben! My dryer is finally heating again after I followed your replacement temps. Is it normal to get a slight heat/burn smell after a first trial run? Thanks
@@srikondabattula7034 Sorry I didnt see this till now. Yes, totally normal. You usually end up disturbing the lint/dust in the cabinet when replacing, so you get some odor for a cycle or two. If it still persists after a week, may be an issue.
@@jesseniasantiago9510 usually that is due to a clogged vent that prevents the air from blowing outside and instead keeps it inside and blows the sensors again
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I am a mother of 4 with little time and zero experience with doing this kind of thing. I purchased the exact parts I needed from your site (which arrived in just a few days with FREE shipping), followed your instruction, and was able to fix my dryer by myself. Not only did you save me over $300 in having someone come out and fix it but you also empowered and gave me the confidence to do the job myself. I am all smiles today and very proud of myself and I owe that to you. Thank you again, blessings 😁💞
Purchased repair kit, got my dryer fixed! Thank you Bens Appliance!! Home depot doesnt carry parts, and the local guy 'doesnt work on samsung' this was perfect!!
I was lucky, disassembled, vaccum cleaned, checked all parts: everything seemed to be correct, re-assembled... WORKS! I think I had some stuff in the thermostat connector that caused it to short, so after cleaning it went back to working. Thanks for the video, really educational!

I’ll just add to many others: this video saved me buying a new dryer. I found the heating element in our five year old Samsung dryer was physically broken. I replaced it but found the dryer still wouldn’t heat until I replaced the other parts that came in the kit - I thought everything tested good but must have been mistaken. This video is a real service to consumers!
EXCELLENT video! You saved me $450 in a repair bill and no need to buy a new dryer! Thank you very much for a well detailed video! One of the good guys helping us all out!
Just fixed my dryer with your video! Thank you so much. I am no where near an expert. Just a mom that needed to save money. I just fixed my dryer myself for $34. Thank you!!!
My dryer stopped heating about 3 weeks ago and I finally got fed up and contacted repairmen to give quotes for the fix. Each quote was between $400 - $500. The day I was going to just hire one of them, this video showed up in my UA-cam video feed, I watched it and saw how easy the repair was. I ordered the heating element from Amazon for $27.99 and did the repair myself in just under 2 hours and saved hundreds of dollars. This video was incredibly helpful….. Thank you so much!
I wish I watched mine and learned from my Dad, he seemed to know how to do everything! We list him in 3012, seemed the whole planet changed… now I’m a single Mom and don’t know how to do very much! This task seems way over my head!🙄😩😢
This video saved me buying a new dryer and paying for a repairman. Followed the clear directions, found the broken heating coil. Ordered a replacement from Amazon that came the next day and - done! Thanks Ben!!!
My dryer was getting too hot- showing hE on the control panel- After watching this video I felt confident I could fix it myself, so I ordered a new heating element and said a prayer! This video helped me take my dryer apart safely, replace the heating element, and put it all back together…works like it’s brand new!! I’m a stay-at-home mom I’m not a mechanic or skilled in appliance repairs in any way- but I did it all by myself with the help of this video! Thank you for posting it
Had to buy a replacement dryer and used this video to guide me through the process of taking the whole thing apart in order to install a side venting kit. New dryer was samsung DVE45T3200W, very similar to the one in the video. Completed the job in about 2 hours. Putty knife to free the top worked. Lots of different screws. Draw pictures. Number the screws in an ice cube tray. Thanks Very Much!!
Just want to say thank you. The extra bit with the belt saved me 30+ minutes of frustration and swearing. The whole video helped in my replacing the heating element.
Thankyou for making this video sir. LOWES servicemen wanted to charge $370 for to replace my heat element and thermostat, sensors. So! After watching your video all I paid was $72 for the kit and did the repairs myself. Thanks again you save me $$$.
I've had to do this operation twice now. Thank you very much for posting this video. It's a game changer and I'm sure you've saved people thousands and thousands of dollars by taking the time to do this.
This video helped a ton! I was able to watch it and tear apart my dryer. I bought the part kit attached for roughly $30 and got my dryer heating correctly again. I only had one screw left over at the end but that just means I was more efficient than the manufacturer. Thanks for your help on this. Spending $30 on parts is way better than a few hundred for a new dryer. Now that I’ve torn it apart and seen how simple it is I’ll be confident if I ever have to do it again.
FOR ANY SKEPTICAL VIEWER Please follow the instructions as he tells it and you won’t regret it ! Also, please make sure to separate your screws because I definitely lost track of where some are supposed to be when I was putting the pieces back together . I know it says time consuming but honestly this took me about 2-3 hours and I would have gotten done sooner but I was recording myself as I went along for a video. If you focus and devote a few hours to it, you’ll have your dryer back in no time ! Thank you so much for this tutorial ! You explained exactly how it should be done . I would have never imagined myself being able to fix this issue but thanks to your video my dryer is better than ever !!!
Just like others, your tutorial saved me from having to send ours for repair or even get a new one. Our dryer was extremely loud. After disassembling it, I cleaned out all the lint which was a huge amount, but also pointed me to the actual problem which was the severely clogged exhaust duct. Thank you for your detailed instructions. On the model I have (dve50m7450w with no "/a3"), the front panel requires 6 screws taken out rather than 7. :)
Ben!!! Just want to say thank you for taking the time, effort and energy to make this video. Your experience and knowledge along with simplifying the steps made replacing the heater assembly an easy and affordable fix. Not to mention save me a bunch of money I already didn’t have. Did I mention I got browny points with the wife. Keep up the great work and content. Thanks again!!!
Great video! I used this repair opportunity to teach my high school and middle school aged boys how to use the multimeter and complete a simple appliance repair. They were able to do everything except the pully during reassembly.
Thank you so much for posting this video! My husband has been out of town for work and my dryer just went down. I was able to follow step-by-step and now have a working dryer! With four teenagers and a zoo of animals, it is definitely much appreciated!
Oh My God Bens Appliances and Junk, you are a SAINT! With your detailed instructions, I have successfully completed the dryer disassembly and found the issue was my heating element. I went to Home Depot, they said I had to go online and order that part. I looked around and found a local appliance store that had it in stock since I wanted to get this done ASAP & not wait on parts to be shipped. Within a few hours and rewinding this video back I installed the piece and put her back together. I can’t thank you enough!
This was SO helpful! I got the kit, watched the video, and was able to fix my dryer. I have a large family, and while I kind of got a kick out of drying laundry outside, it's not super practical, and it's been so great having my dryer back! Thank you!
Excellent video. $35 in parts and this video later, my Samsung dryer is back to working. The procedure isn't too bad, and it took just over an hour to complete. Thanks Ben!
I have this exact model and your video was very helpful. I did not need to call an appliance repair person and had the confidence to do this repair myself. I saved quite a bit of money. Thanks!
Just the video I needed to fix my Samsung dryer. I replaced the rollers for $30.00. I just couldn’t figure out how to disassemble it until I watched this video. Thanks!!!
I want to add a thank you, Ben. Dryer lost heat this past week and your video was outstanding at helping me through the process of testing and replacing the element and sensors. Excellent work and thank you for providing this invaluable service. 🙏😊
I want to thank you for your video. It was done really well and I was able to fix our dryer with no issues. It saved our family at least a couple hundred dollars in professional repair costs. It took me an hour and I was totally done with everything working awesome for only $27. 🥰
I watched this video before replacing the heating element on my daughter's Samsung dryer. Because of this video I was completely prepared and avoided frustrating surprises. Thank you for this valuable video.
I just got done fixing mine (exact same model as your showing) 15 minutes ago and working. Cost me $35 and saved me $500. Thank you very much for this video.
Hello from Toronto. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge online. My dryer heating element was busted last week. My husband watched your YT - and we bought the parts. We both did it (i am his assistant in the basement 😇). I’m happy for finding you calling/purpose in life. God bless your and thank you so much. Keep up the good works!
My man! Your detailed and thorough video and explanations have saved me hundreds of dollars on this dryer repair. And in this day and age, that’s big time, my friend! I’m an average DIYer but without your tutorial, I would have been slightly apprehensive to tackle it myself. Thanks so much and keep up the good work! Much respect from Ontario, Canada
Thank you for your video. Followed the instructions and had the whole canister swapped out in no time at all. Showing how to remove the belt and drum was especially helpful. I couldn't have done it without this information. Two thumbs up!!
Hey Ben, I just wanna thank you for posting this video... I had a Samsung Dryer quit building heat a week ago... I found your video and ordered the heating element parts for it from Amazon and tore it down this afternoon and had it up and running 3 hrs later... I paid $30 bucks for all the parts from Amazon, cuz Samsung wanted a $120 for the same parts... You saved me from spending $700 on a new Dryer and a better brand... We'll see how long this runs now... Very much appreciated... Thanks again!
Ok so I’m back. I NEVER send $$ on you tube but good golly I’ve used this one particular video 3 times now and you have saved me so much $$$ so thank you! Also we got a replacement lint screen for this model and it allowed SO much lint through that we just dodged a bullet as the lint blanket was singed inside! Again… thank you for helping me fix this monster!
This video helped me so much. I was able to successfully replace my heating element. Some of it didn’t apply but I just skipped it. Thank god for this gentleman
This video was FANTASTIC and I watched it several times for reference as I took apart my dryer! I bought this Washer and dryer set used for our new place . Upon setup I noticed the controls would turn on and all of that , it would spin normally but there was no heat! I found out my breaker was tripped and that was why my dryer wasn't heating ! It wasn't getting enough voltage! It gave me the HC error code . I replaced every part the heating element (which mine didn't appear damaged) the fuse in the blower and all the thermostats and it still wasn't heating .. and still read HC...mind you I took it apart and put it back together again 4 times... lol... I spent hours doing this . I don't know if anyone else has had this same issue . But before you go ordering parts and taking this dryer apart check your breaker/outlet. I felt silly that it was so simple🤦♀️
Thank you so much for this informative video! I saved myself a huge amount of money with the simplicity of your instructions. A rag got caught in the fan underneath the lint trap. I was able to disassemble it myself and take it out in short time. Now my dryer works again!
Thank you so much for your video. I replaced all the pieces and found out that my heating element was damaged. Your video helped me each step of the way. I appreciate it.
Thank you. I followed this exactly and it worked perfect. Side note, the kit I got included the housing for the element. I didn’t know so enjoyed taking the case off to expose the element. All worked great and for me it was the thermostat that was bad. I cleaned everything everywhere so all good now. All your recommended tricks worked and were needed.
Worked! Hopped on Amazon, found a kit that had the three parts to replace. Followed video, replaced them, success! Only took 1 hour from first screw out to final screw in.
Thank you so much! This video was so easy to follow and so very helpful. We are now onto our 3rd load of laundry in the dryer, and it's working perfectly! I have 4 kids, and I watch 4 kids in my home. We have a schedule that was interrupted by the dryer going out. Not bad for a 40 year old mom who hasn't fixed a dryer before!😂
I’m working on my dryer right now, changing the rollers. But using your video, I’ve worked on this dryer several times and I really appreciate your help. I’m sure so many do. Thanks!
Fixed my dryer belt for the second time, had to replace the pully thing. Then got the dE error. Could not figure out what I did wrong. Came here, at 2:49 saw the connection to the light - that was it! Found the cord, connected, it's working fine now. Thank you for your video.
Thank you for this excellent DIY video! You saved us a mountain in what could have been an expensive 'repair call' from a repair service. The video is very thorough and exact in what needs to be done. The only hiccup I had was threading the darn idler pulley! Thank you again for your time and knowledge!
Hey there I literally just finished doing this exact job and your instructions are absolutely perfect! thanks so so much! my $1800 CAD dryer is now fixed and serviced for $50! Bravo sir!
update! i'm back again and doing it AGAIN! one of the parts failed and no heat! the new kit I have this time has a much more robust-looking element so I think the last time the kit I got was for the wrong dryer? maybe I don't know? either way, this video is again saving my bacon! cheers!
My heating element went out in my Samsung dryer. I followed your video step by step and got the whole assembly replaced in less than an hour. Thanks for a straight to the point video with clear instructions. People like you are what makes UA-cam great.
Thanks! When I started appliance repair, I found there are way too many videos that are twice as long as they need to be. I just want to show how to take the machine apart, where the important pieces are, and how to tell thats whats dead and nothing else. Sometimes I try to educate about why they fail, but I really don't want to put out a 20 minute video when you don't need that.
Hey thank you for the video sir. Was able to take apart the washer and replace all the parts and now it’s working. Saved me a lot of money not having to call a repair guy
Thanks for your tutorial video. I saved hundreds of dollars in repairs fee doing the job by my self. I just ordered the parts in the link and follow your instructions. Easy explanation for regular people like my. Thanks!
Thanks so much for this video. $30 part that worked like a charm to fix my dryer in less than 2 hours rather than buying a whole new dryer for at least $500. Can’t say thanks enough. Subscribed!
Thank you so much for this comprehensive video! $34 and this video helped me fix my dryer! And I appreciate you not editing out the steps that were difficult or troublesome because most of us will have some type of problem - then don’t know what to do because the video they watched was perfect. This helped tremendously!!
Thank you so much for the video! It was a tremendous help. Had to put an element in my moms dryer. She doesn't have the money to pay a repair man. So Thank you again!
Thanks for the step by step DIY video. Just like others, you saved me a hefty bill. I try to do everything DIY as it adds up incredibly fast for repairs that I can do myself. Thank you!
thank you so much for making this video, i was able to fix my Samsung dryer using this video and payed off Big time. i had the dryer running like new immediately after plugging the power. It saved me from buying a new dryer or having it repaired.
My dryer has been having heat problems for months. I've made due, even tried to Crack it open and see. I was lost. This video makes it more clear and I can't wait to tackle it. Although my Samsung dryer is a little different, apparently they are all similar enough that this should work. My wife will be happy. Ty!
They are all insanely similar. Honestly, it goes way beyond Samsung. Kenmore, LG, and some Whirlpools are almost all the same with slight layout differences once you get the top off.
Thank you so so much! You showed us how to troubleshoot, pre-vetted our parts shopping, showed us all the tricks for repair and reassembly, saved us so much time and money... Thank you! It would be cool to know how much you have saved your viewers collectively!!
Thank you for this video. I ordered the Dryer Heater Kit from the link you provided with the video. Part came within a week and we just finished the install. Seems to be working well now. Had my daughter watch the video and guide me, everything was as you outlined. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much for this video! Saved my husband and I $$$ by allowing us to change the burned up heating element ourselves. Your instructions were spot on.
Just a wonderful tutorial. My issue was one of the wire terminals popped off some how. Plug it in and good to go. You probably saved me $150 or more. Thanks again!
I've been seeing WAY more wire terminals either burnt or popped off lately. Not sure why. This video has been up for 2 years now, and it seems like your response is way more common. No clue why. Glad it helped!
You sir are a Gentlemen and a Scholar, your video was clear and precise, I was able to change out my heating element in under 20mins with no problems but don't tell my wife, she thinks it took me over an hour🤣👍
Thank you very much! I ordered the part from you and fixed my dryer! Now I feel like I understand my dryer so much better and I’ll be able to maintain it
Thanks man! It took me approximately 1.5 hours and got the job don’t thanks to you. Didn’t have pliers to bend those little tabs but made it work. Thanks again!
Thank you so much! Dryer ran a few seconds and stopped with an HC error. My thermistor is at 1.2 K ohms, everything else checks good. New part ordered, fingers crossed! Video was very easy to follow, my background/career is automotive repair so I know my way around a multimeter pretty well. I wasn’t sure how to dismantle the dryer and stumbled into your video looking for that information, I was very happy you also showed how to ID and test the heating system components.
My cousin and I used this to replace my heating element. 2 girls with no clue what they were doing. And now it works fantastically! Really good and simple explanations! Super easy to understand!
Thank you! Your guide helped me tremendously. It was easy to tear apart but putting back together it was tight and that belt assy took me a few attempts. I kept referring back to your videos and you got me thru it. Thank you!!
Thank you was swapping the door to open on the other side bracket that the door hinges bolts to fell down inside you saved my Saturday took me about 15 minutes with your video instead of half the day.
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!! This video was so on point for my dryer. We ordered the part and play the video step by step. Put it back together and it works perfectly.

Incredibly helpful - changed my heating element and all sensors and now my dryer is working perfect thanks to your help
The question is for how long? Mines be like 4 Loads then took a crap again.
Just saved me $300 at least. It takes a little time but following you step by step made it easy! Thank you!
Dude.. thank you so much. Followed this step by step and you saved me about $400. Took me at the most about an hour. Best tutorial I have seen.
Just used your video to fix my dryer. Took me an hour start to finish. Big thanks brother
Ben has saved me from two major dryer repairs by fixing it myself. You have such great videos. Thank you!!
Bravo sir!
update! i'm back again and doing it AGAIN! one of the parts failed and no heat! the new kit I have this time has a much more robust-looking element so I think the last time the kit I got was for the wrong dryer? maybe I don't know? either way, this video is again saving my bacon! cheers!
I cannot thank you enough. God bless you for posting this for us. My dryer is heating again!!
This video saved me time, headache, and potentially hundreds of dollars. Thank you good sir for the content
Thanks!
Just finished this learning experience. Now, thanks to you, we don't have to buy a new dryer. Very much appreciated 🙏 👍 😁😄😀😃
He absolutely edited out the steps that were hard. He literally said he did smh
Thank you!
One of the best tutorials available. I used it to do these repairs yesterday. Thank you very much. Dryer works again.
I just replaced the heating element assembly in my dryer, I must say this video was a god send!!! Thank you so much for the step by step instructions
Thank you!! Just got my dryer fixed and I watched this video 5 million times but it’s fixed keep it up!
Thank you for the video! My father passed a few years ago and this video helped me save my dryer!
thank you so much for making this video, i was able to fix my Samsung dryer using this video and payed off Big time. i had the dryer running like new immediately after plugging the power.
@@bensappliancesandjunk if only more cars were like that :p
Thank you so so much! You showed us how to troubleshoot, pre-vetted our parts shopping, showed us all the tricks for repair and reassembly, saved us so much time and money... Thank you! It would be cool to know how much you have saved your viewers collectively!!
Thank you for this video. I ordered the Dryer Heater Kit from the link you provided with the video. Part came within a week and we just finished the install. Seems to be working well now. Had my daughter watch the video and guide me, everything was as you outlined. Much appreciated.
Amazing video. The pulley shot alone saved me hours of frustration. Thank you for making this available.
Thank you so much for this video! Saved my husband and I $$$ by allowing us to change the burned up heating element ourselves. Your instructions were spot on.
Thank you. I replaced the heating element and all the associated components. Your video was very helpful and spot on. Dryer lives for another day!
This video saved us hundreds of dollars we didn't have to spend and just before the holidays. Thank you.
Glad it worked out for you!
Great tutorial. Spent $35 and 2 hrs and now it’s fixed! I had to vacuum lots of lint and also took my time since I’m not a professional
Lint build-up is likely the culprit on why you had the issue. if you ever see a lot, it'll clog the system causing a failure.
You saved me from buying a new dryer. Thanks, this video is exactly what I needed to fix my dryer.
Did you get it fixed? I'm having the same issue.
@@BLK8WDW thermistor took care of it. I ordered 2 so I have an extra on hand.
@@TDF0907 thank you for the reply I'm about to tackle the problem
My cousin and I used this to replace my heating element. 2 girls with no clue what they were doing. And now it works fantastically! Really good and simple explanations! Super easy to understand!
I’m in the same boat and about to tackle this! Fingers crossed.
Thank you Sir. I used your video and the link provided for the parts and fixed my dryer for the cost of the parts. Again Thank you.
You're amazing! This helped me out tremendously with my dryer. Your detailed video helped an idiot like me save money and look like a winner in front of the family. Can't thank you enough.
Great video. You saved our family hundreds of dollars. Thank you.
Great video. Just completed my dryer heating element and thermostat replacement following this video. The instructions were great and while I was at it, replaced the belt as well so hopefully my dryer lasts me another 5+ years. Thanks again.
Thank you!!!!!!!!! You saved me alot of money. I have never even seen the inside of a dryer before. You directions were spot on!
Excellent video! I was able to order parts from your links down below and fix my Samsung dryer with your excellent directions! You saved me hundreds of dollars.
This video just saved our bacon!! Thank you so much! Very instructive, very detail oriented, and probably saved us $300 on someone coming to repair it for us!! Thank you again!!
I’ve used this video 3 times in the last 18 months. Thanks
Thank you for the instructions in this video! I was able to follow along and replace the heating element and the sensors in my Samsung dryer, and it works great now! Probably saved us a few hundred dollars in repairs!
Thank you so much. I would have never of attempted this without this video. You are literally my family’s hero! Thank you
