32, hungover, and just appreciating the era of STP I look back at most fondly. Discovered them through Sour Girl when it dropped, consider yourself lucky to have been there at their peak my guy.

I was at this show. The mother of one of my best friends, whom she wasnt all that close with, had something to do with booking acts for the fair this year. She had asked us who would like to see at the fair. Our first answer was Pearl Jam. We were almost immediately shot down. Pretty sure our second choice was STP. Months later, it was announced and we were shocked. She called her mom to make sure and she confirmed it... and gave her 4 tickets. She was kind of a shitty mom, but she was pretty awesome on that day. We were on the track, in front of Dean, all night. It was a great show!
I saw them the previous summer, at Riverport in St. Louis, with The Flaming Lips and Butthole Surfers. Surfers blew them away, that night.

saw them on this tour...Scott sounded exactly like the album for the whole show...they basically played core and purple in their entirety...the only show where the entire audience sang every song at top volume that I've ever been to
This is what the Tiny Music tour SHOULD’VE been.
Crazy to see Scott looking so healthy compared to the later years. Although even at this point he's about a year into his heroin addiction. One of the most, if not the most, underrated STP song. The day I bought Purple in 1994 it was instantly my favourite track on the album.
Look closely to his left arm he has some kind of inhaler he hits at 1:45 what the fuck!!!

I feel very fortunate to have been able to see them live in 2009. When Scott got cleaned and the reunited. I swear they sounded like no time had past.

The only thing in common btwn STP and the others was their album release dates... Old STP (Mighty Joe Young) did way different stuff like blues, funk, samba nova and Scott sang in a madrigal choir. SMH.

The 90's had it all. Every genera, every style of music. Never will be a better time in music. I'm so lucky I was in my teens and 20's to exp it.
When I was a young teen I swore this would be the song in the background the first time I made love man. Something about it brought me to that time in my life where I was ready for love. These guys changed everything. And made me also fall in love with music enough to, 22 years later be playing along and singing atleast 1 of their songs every cover show I play. They will forever haunt me in the greatest way.
