Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 гру 2024
- In this episode, Tanner shares his story about growing up in a very religious community, finding the Book of Mormon musical, converting to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and being kicked out of his house for his conversion. He talks about this mission for the Church (otherwise known as the Mormon Church) and his decision to move to Utah.
Tanner talks about seeing the Book of Mormon musical and realizing that he was interested to meet a real 'Mormon.' He went to a local church building where he finally learned about the Church and where his testimony began to grow.

I’m currently going through this same thing,I’m 17 and I’m wanting to join the lds and My family is southern baptist and would disown me if they found out, please pray for me that my parents will find mercy for me
just trust God, He will make everything work out. If they love you they will accept you but no matter what God is above all
Titus, I would like to check up and see how you are doing, how is life going?
Please don't join. I guarantee that they are not sharing what it is you're actually joining. I was a very devout missionary and I know this for a fact. They are purposefully taught very manipulative tactics to get you to believe the story. Please don't join, for your own sanity
@@jonbaker476 The angle Moroni said to Joseph one day that his name would be used for good and evil, I know with all certainty that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ, even the same church Christ established on the earth when He was here 2000 years ago. I know that God knows how much I love Him and His church, and I cannot deny. I have had thousands of blessings throughout my life that I knew God and Christ were watching over me, I know this is true in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
I started to reply to keep you and your family’s names on the temple prayer role, then realized it’s been 2 years … I hope things have worked out for you. I met the missionaries & was baptized when I was 21, it was the best decision of my life. God bless you.
Big part of my conversion was South Park and how much I knew the book of Mormon and the whole religion thing was false. And how much I was proven wrong by heavenly father.
Same
I remember when I first saw the South Park episode on Nov 2001. I said to myself "If I was in that cartoon, I would follow him"
He turned out as a real person lol
Lol I have a running joke with my brother (old school Roman Catholic) that one day I'm gonna be able to tell him: "Dude, mom tried to tell you, I tried to tell you, and even Southpark tried to tell you, even though they got the hell part wrong... I TOLD YOU SO"
(Let it be known this is a twisted humor joke, and I'm not actually going to be saying "I told you so" to anyone. 🙃)
I remember reading about this guy! We have very similar beginnings with the church (finding out through the musical and turning up to church unannounced)
You are an inspiration, Tanner. Thank you for sharing your story
We're glad you enjoyed Tanner's story!
Tanner, thank you so much for sharing your conversion story with us. My wife is a convert to the church; her father who is basically agnostic wouldn't allow her to join the church, so she waited until she was 18, then was baptized. She didn't have a car, so she rode her bicycle several miles to church every Sunday. Joining the church is one of the best things she ever did! I look forward to following you on your UA-cam channel!
Thank you for everything you shared. Congratulations and thanks for all the good you do!
Thank you soooo much Tanner! I never expected that musical to actually convert some people! This is such an inspiring story! Loved watching this today!!
AshNikField there’s many conversion stories from that musical......and also anti Mormon materials......anti Mormon material brought me to the church....Greatest thing ever happened in my life!
My husband is also a convert from North Carolina! He’s from Belmont.
Much love and respect for you, Tanner!
My parents didn't care, they were non-denominational Christian. (Non-denominational is a denomination, I know it's silly, they original Churches split from the Church of Christ over music)
Growing-up, I saw an LDS commercial and asked about it. Mother said that it was another group who just believe something different. (Same thing as when I saw a picture of St. Peter on the upside down cross. That is how he was Martyred, but only the Catholics talk about it.)
As long as I was going to Church, they were happy.
Literally my dream to be on this channel and share my conversion story !!💕
Message us on Instagram or FB and we might be able to set that up if you're ever in town!
Great testimony, Tanner. I lost my fiance, (a redhead no less) by joining the Church. She was and is Southern Baptist "royalty" as her oldest son was married by the President of that church. The crazy thing is that she would fit in perfectly in the true Church, but she just refuses to consider it. I learned so much spiritually from her during our time together but she declined to continue learning herself. I also had a miraculous experience on the day I saw the "Book of Mormon", it was a great testimony to me.
Great video! I lived it! I am struggling with opposition from family right now and this video has helped. A little side note, I think my ward here in Ohio is like a mini Utah because a ton of people here used to be from Utah and then moved here, lol!
That was so cool!! Thanks for sharing Tanner!! :)
I was told, by family, they wished I was an alcoholic than a Mormon. My sister still thinks I belong to an occult . I've been a member now for over 40 years.
Awesome video! Being a part of the church is amazing
I make animations if anyone wants to see 'em
I grew up in Kennewick, Washington! So cool that Tanner served there for a bit of his mission!
Like Tanner, anti Mormon stuff makes me stronger......awesome church member! So glad to hear these great stories!
Yeah I don't necessarily love getting into heated discussions over the church, but when I find one I read all the biblical scriptures they give to denote the church, and all the scriptures just increase my faith 10000+ fold.
Have you guys ever considered making these vids in podcast form? I wanna work out w these without constantly being distracted by my phone
LillyTheCreator I would love that too!
It exists! Look up Saints Unscripted wherever you get your podcasts from.
@@davidsnell2605 Thanks so much!
Wow.... im approaching my baptism....
Fear not, just put your faith in Christ and He will help you through whatever comes your way.
I grew up in Kennewick, WA! It still shocks me that there's a mission headquarters there now.
I love this!
Awesome story! Took a lot of courage to get where you are today! Thanks for sharing!
Hermiston, Oregon? I live a few miles away in the dreaded Boardman. That is a cool thing to know.
Ah yes, Boardman. We used to go to church in the Boardman building. What an ... exciting part of the country to live in haha.
Tanner. That was beautiful. It filled my morning with light and joy. We have neighbors who I naturally judged wrongly. Since getting to know them we have fallen in love with them. Let people get to know you and they will fall in love with you too. Thx again.
good ol' southern baptists. always on to church on time, no matter how late the lynching on Saturday went.
Exactly 💯
Love conversation stories
yay they like the musical!! it's my favourite musical ever and i'm totally fan girling everytime i meet a real mormon too 😁 if i believed in god i'd convert to your church yesterday.
Haha glad we're at the top of your wish list!
I love the musical too :)
I love the intro. Very creative and like good vibes. Yeah. Reminds me of the animated show 16.
How can any one, especially Christians not like the Mormons when they change lives the way they do,,,,,no drinking, no smoking, no weed, no heavy partying, no sex before marriage.....sounds like the life God wants for his children.....
Honestly, a big deal breaker is the first vision, and Christians say that God is dormant now-a-days, they will always persecute us but Moroni told Joseph Smith that his name would be used for good and evil.
Satan stirs up the hearts of men to contend with anger especially against truth.
I find this very interesting because my name is tanner and I’m converting to the church 😂😂
Also like his family leaving him I relate so much to that my parents done even allow me to go to the church on Sunday’s I went once and they said I can never go back again because they think it’s a cult, it really hurts
Tanner, way to go in going through the conversion process despite the lack of support. You are amazing!! We'd love to hear your story, if you want to DM us on Instagram :) Either way, good luck on your journey! God will be with you as you keep putting in the effort.
Awesome, thanks for sharing!
What a great story and guy! Man I love when people find the truth and they just know it's truth. I think of Bill Carpenter's conversion story with this. Go listen to it if you haven't, it is one of my favorite conversion stories I have ever heard! His parents were going to disown him essentially over being baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he was in his turmoil of course not wanting to hurt them and the pain etc. But his support members told him, something along these lines, we know you love your family. But you can either say I'm going to love you for this life, or I am going to love you for eternity. And the blessings and revelations poured out on him were so incredible! Truth is truth even when many others can't see it yet.
Congratulations! The Gospel does bring change and helps you to become better!
To get use to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Church. What be the easiest way for person who doesn't understand the Elders Quorum and the Sunday classes seem odd?
Please contact me Ernest, I will do my best to help you comprehend why the Church is true and why it really is incomplete without you! two14-two28-six519
When you let God in, you stay at his bosom. Amen.
It’s sad that people will judge you for things you can’t control. It’s not like he wanted to come home from his mission 3 times, who does?! But sometimes you can’t help it. And the tattoos thing, that’s so shallow, literally!!! And plus he probably got them before he knew better. Some people, ugh. They just don’t understand. Life isn’t that black and white, just bc you came home from your mission early or have tattoos, that doesn’t make you a bad person or worth any less than someone who served a full mission and has nothing on their skin. Some of the best human beings I know aren’t members or even religious at all. But they’re amazing and I love them and I know God does too.
What an amazing story! Thank you for sharing!
:) Thank you Tanner.
I'm a member and I just LOVE theater, and I want to go on a mission, and every time I hear a bit of this musical, it hurts me so much that somebody is up there on stage mocking me. But, the little bit of music I heard, the vocals were amazing.
Wait, where are you speaking in Arkansas???
🤘
Wow amazing testimony!
Does anybody know what happened to Tanner and his channel? @Saints Unscripted
That’s a great question! I’m not sure 😩
That's really a shame the missionaries(tell the bishop ) didn't help you find a place to live when you still you lived in your car . That's wild to me that they don't feel the need to help someone in need
We don't know that they didnt try to help. :) We only know all the details of the story
They may not have known. I went through things that I never told people. Don't jump to conclusions.
hey he has good taste!! the book of mormon is a great musical
Honestly, "Dogma" was my favorite movie for the longest time.
thank you for sharing brother!
Would mormons do to their children the same thing this guys parents did?
I'm sure, sadly, many have. But I'm also sure that's a product of their own poor choices and not what any denomination actually teaches should be done. It is a shame, though.
@@davidsnell2605 Thank you for responding.
Question: what exactly is the Book of Mormon play about? Never seen it personally.
How to put it.....
Have you seen "South Park"? Made by Matt Parker and Tray Stone. They were the ones who wrote the play.
I would never go see it, but I am glad that it exists, because it did help bring greater attention to our faith.
I actually just did a video reacting to the show on my channel! We go over the plot and the lyrics of some of the songs!!
Recommend it!
It was one moment for me.
Go Tanner!
👍🏻
Hard to respect a religion for kicking their child out because of their choice of faith.
What an interesting and startling conversion story! Tanner's story is very interesting because he is a very articulate and a charismatic young man! He seems very sincere as well. What is startling is the absence of Jesus in his story.
I have never heard a conversion story that left Jesus by the wayside!
I watched and waited hoping to hear something, but not one mention of the name Jesus!!
THE NAME THAT IS ABOVE EVERY NAME!
THE ONLY NAME ABLE TO SAVE!
He was converted to what? The LDS church? That is it! This is shameful!
How naïve and gullible can people be?
This truly must be the last generation.
For all the world seems deceived into believing lies! Just as God's word teaches.
This seems to be a trend in religious systems today. The focus is on everything but Jesus!
The focus is on music, feelings, church affiliation, self exaltation, having your best life now etc.
These are the god's and idols of this last generation! So sad!
All heaven just weeps!
B.D.B. 1978 well apparently you weren’t listening because he does say Jesus right before he gets baptized. Also what do you even MEAN dude. The entire gospel is about the plan of salvation which is literally all because of Jesus he is the great mediator in the final day the only reason we can get to heaven. He is the center of the LDS religion no higher name besides god.
This man is highly empathic and righteous
Lol. Seems like the universe didn't want him out on a mission.
Satan fights hard against truth
I knew this guy in the mission. Bit of an egotystical guy tbh. Very attention-seeking and a bit disingenuous
Rents better...
Inspired
I love this!!!!
