I'm ex Pentecostal. And gay. I've never been happier since I joined the church last year. I investigated on my own on line for 18 months before I met a mormon or the missionaries. I loved this story. And related about leaving my old life behind...big time

Martin . No I still identify as gay. I'm 55. And have been gay my whole life. So not much point in denying that. But I fully live the law of chastity. And have been for nearly a year now. I know the church has evolved in attitudes towards gay in recent years. Check out 'Mormonandgay.org'. And there's some great utube vids called 'voices of hope' as well. Also there is a online group called 'northstar' , with a whole bunch of lgbtqi people who are choosing to live the gospel of Jesus Christ .

Martin Iniguez yip celibacy. There are numerous reasons why people choose.....or even have celibacy impinged upon them. Eg: Health, age, just not finding someone suitable. I believe God has given us certain commandments to live by and its completely up to us if we choose to obey. In all honesty I sown my oats. I'm not that young so I'm quite happy to check out this different way of living. Do I have attractions.....of course. But I dont believe I have to be defined by either my sexuality or whether or not I have sex. I have no judgement what so ever on other people. I still have gay mates.....who by the way think I'm mad lol....... but I adore them. And I'm a part of my gay community here. An important point is that there is no difference between gay sexual sin and heterosexual sexual sin. One is not worse than the other in Gods eyes. God loves all His children equally .

craig newsome Your story is truly inspirational and I believe that you will have greater blessings in the next life for the way you choose to live and I know another gay Mormon who believes in Jesus Christ and His doctrine so strongly that he’s choosing the same as you. And to clear it up for others. The church never said same-sex “attraction” is bad (but I’m not encouraging it either), mostly just that marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman. I also know a gay man who’s know he was gay all his life but has found peace and love in serving His Heavenly Father by having a family and wife of his own, despite his sexual preference. I know the blessings for you and these other people I know in the church that are gay will receive blessings far beyond your belief for choosing to live your life this way!! Keep up the good work!

Great episode. Relate well. Even at 71. I went searching and a lady missionary from a different state through fb we met on a zoom and I watched her testimony in church through a broadcast too. So I agreed to meet with local Elders. Local being 30 miles off. I prayed on advice of the lady and before I met the Elders I knew Joseph Smith was a true prophet so the rest, church and Book of Mormon had to be also true. Elders suggested I set a baptism date then see if through prayers I received confirmation of it being right for me at that time and I did. Both answers were subtle but as they occurred I said ok Heavenly Father I understand now. Peaceful feelings of being on right course have been with me and am getting baptism on Dec. 11 with first visit to a Temple in Baton Rouge on December 21st

Please don't fall for they're lies. Once you go into this religion it's going to be very hard to get out. You will build a relationship with the people of you're church and when you start having doubts they will reject you. When all you're friends ignore you I hope you have family that are not morman so you are not alone when or if you escape they're lies. Please take my warning and don't join them.

@@trentonbarton809 In case if you missed out. The missionaries are like any other religion will teach you or giving informations about the church THEN you will have to decide for yourself to seek the truth by asking our Heavenly Father if the information given to you are right or wrong and you have to do it in sincerely and you'll get the answer through the Spirit. Please do not assume through false stories mostly through ignorance and hatreds.

But I'm not wrong am I? If she leaves the church and she made friends at the church she will get disfellowshiped and her friends would ignore her. I know how indoctrination into a religion, or a cult works. The stuff about the "spirit" and "heavenly father" is BS. I just wanted to say my part before she gets indoctrinated into your pretty much cult.

Tyrese Sutton for other people reading your post, please know that feeling chills is how SOME people recognize the spirit. It may be different for others when they recognize the spirit. For example, when I feel the spirit, sometimes I just have a voice in my head that tells me “I’m here.” And others may feel an overwhelming warmth. I say this mostly so that people don’t think “wait, I didn’t get chills but I felt this overwhelming warmth... guess it wasn’t the spirit”. Although, I do agree that she was feeling the spirit 👍🏼👍🏼

Great video! I want to go to church and meet with missionaries but don't know how my parents would feel. They are atheist and don't have good views about religious groups. They are nice and respectful about others beliefs but I don't know how they would react if it was their son. I guess I could meet with missionaries at the library since they have study rooms there you can reserve. I don't know how I could get to the local church without my parents questioning my behaviour. Also, some people at the church know my parents so I am afraid my parents might find out through them before I tell them. I think I should just be upfront and honest with the though. By the way, I am 15. I know that might seem young to be investigating a church but I have been looking for answers the last 3 years. I have looked at mainstream christian churches and even thr JW's. I was able to understand the JW's a little better through my Nana because she used to be part of the church. She left once she was an adult but her family shunned her and I knew I didn't want to be a part of that. I just really want to understand fully the different teachings and lessons that are in the Bible and the BOM. I wasn't raised in a christian family so I have never read the Bible before. I also worry about repentance. I always feel like I can't be forgiven for my sins but I just try to remember that satan wants us to believe we cannot repent our sins. I just feel that this is the one true church. I just feel so much hope. It seems like coincidence on how I found out about the church but I truly believe it was all part of a plan for me. However, I still consider myself an investigator since I don't know if I am too young and don't have enough life experience to make such a life desicion but don't be fooled, young people need to be given more credibility. We don't all eat Tide Pods! 😂 Also, I feel this channel is going in the right direction. At first I was worried about how some people were leaving the show and it wouldn't be the same but Kwaku and Mimi are good hosts for the show. Thanks again for another great video!

      @MsCrow716 6 років тому +7

Brendan Leonard, I feel you should be up front and honest about your feelings often times parents will surprise you plus since your a minor you can't get baptized without permission from your parents and tell them that too.
But pray to Heavenly Father first let him know of your feelings and what you hope for and need. And He will help you to know the best way to bring it up to them. Even if they are reluctant if you show that you are sincere and also seeking there blessing and guidance they may become okay with letting you talk with the missionaries.
You know them and you know yourself but remember GOD KNOWS THEM AND YOU BETTER THEN EVEN YOU KNOW YOURSELF. He loves you and when it is right He will lead the way!
God bless, you'll be in my prayers!

Hi Brendan! How I feel your troubles! I also got a prompting to go to the church, and coming from an atheist background I was the first surprised! I didn't tell my parents for a long while, and they freaked out when they discovered! My advice is, don't wait too long to tell them about it, but first get a good testimony; I had gotten a revelation days before I told them, and my faith was only shaken but not destroyed. As for repentance, here's a scripture for you: Alma 12:33-34. Best of luck!

I had converted years ago to Judaism but have grown apart from that faith in recent years. After feeling like a spiritual orphan for about 3 years now, in the last month or so I feel pulled to the LDS church. I don't know why, I don't have an explanation but I know that something is happening in me. I carry a lot of heavy sinful baggage and despair was seeping in because I felt as though I was irredeemable in God's eyes. I am 38 years old and feel like I don't belong and that I am not worthy in so many ways. This video I watched today for a reason, and her statement about vibration and attraction smacked me in the face spiritually speaking. I have been studying the new thought movement for about 6 months, but felt as though it was missing the "meat" of what I seek. She nailed it on the head with her testimony here in this video, and I have no words. Just know the Holy Spirit sometimes communicates with you in different ways, today for me it was by UA-cam. I reached out to LDS missionaries this morning to sit down this week and talk at my house. I don't know where this road will lead, but I do know that I cannot deny the pull God has on me at this point. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, keep doing what you're doing.

Question about 13:42. The Bible, the one canonized at the council of Nicea, states the we should not lean on our own understanding. How can a whole organization be based on a burning or a testimony? The triune God does not need me or my feelings to be true. He said it best when He said, "I am that I am!" This is so true, churches tell you not to trust yourself. They tell you that light can appear as evil (which the Bible does say). But at some point, you have to not just live in fear that good is evil, and follow the sweet, sweet promptings of the Holy Ghost/Spirit and join the church. It will change your life for the better.

I just wanted to comment with Scripture because so many of my Mormon friends rely on their own personal revelation or experience. This is what Peter had to say about that:
15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.
16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.
17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
18 And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.
19 We have also A MORE SURE WORD OF PROPHECY; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.
21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
So Peter, who literally witnessed the transfiguration of Christ and God's literal voice from Heaven said: we have something better, the Scriptures. Think about that. It's not how I feel about Jesus and the Bible, it's what Jesus and the Bible say to me and not through "private" interpretation.
Also, I would challenge, or like to ask, who can show me how and by what means, LDS can prove 'many precious parts' of the Bible are wrong?

      Hi Luke...or Rachel...or both,
It is interesting that you chose that section of scripture as evidence for not trusting our heart, but to trust scripture. Because, in verse 19 we learn that the "the more sure word of prophecy" comes as a light shining in the darkness and "as the day star arise in" where? In our hearts. So the more sure word of prophecy comes to us as the light shining in the very place you tell us not to trust. I think, instead, I'll trust this scripture....

I have my conversion story, an ex-member of the church was my friend and she kept telling only bad stuff about the church, for Christmas she gave me an anti-Mormon book as a present. It portrays the missionaries as devils. Eventually, I discovered the opposite.

I want to clear something up Christians (Protestants) do not think the lds people are evil we don’t think that you wake up in the morning and try to come up with ways how you can convince your coworkers to secretly worship Satan I think it’s clear the lds community is a awesome community that loves people but I think we have to realize there are plenty of people who deny God who have this same love for community and people. For me the ice breaker for why I don’t label you as Christians is because we serve different Gods my God is eternally three persons sharing the one being of God co equal and co eternal. Your God is one who was once a man who worked his way up to Godship and had Spirit baby’s with his wife. My Jesus is and always will be unchanging second person of the trinity your Jesus is a Spirit child of the father this is the difference between orthodox and historical Christianity and the lds church please challenge me especially on the trinity so that I can clear some things up I think it’s clear that you either have to misrepresent the trinity or ignore scripture to come to any other conclusion besides trinity. If I am wrong show me. I am always seeking for truth and I don’t want to miss represent your faith

So I think you are addressing 'doctrines' about deity. I've been with Lds for nearly a year. Jesus said that 'by their fruits you shall know them'. On the whole Mormons love the Lord the most I have seen in other churches. The theory that they have some 'other' Christ' is just simply incorrect. I wont get into debate over doctrines and all that stuff. I just say , live and let live. I know the Holy Spirit is in this church. And I know the Book of Mormon is true scripture. The interesting thing I have found is that lds does not put down others christian beliefs. I say let people practice faith that works for them. The Lord is the ultimate judge. I think that lds is great. Less judging . And far more loving. Its hearts that are important to God. Not doctrines.

craig newsome live and let live? Jesus in the same chapter you quoted Jesus talks about how people will come to him saying Lord Lord did we not do all these things in your name! And he will say to them be gone from me I never knew you. So it’s more than just proclaiming Jesus name and In my comment I did show we worship different Gods and we have different Jesus’s if your wrong or if I’m wrong either way you have to see we don’t have the same God and the problem with that is if your right I’m blaspheming God because I hold Jesus as God and if I’m right then you are denying the one true God. Those are the facts and there is nothing wrong with debate. Thats what paul did in acts going to the word to show Jesus is the messiah. If you need scripture I can show you multiple places where Jesus is referred to as Yahweh even by the Father himself

Justin Archuleta yes well you're talking to the wrong person if you want debate. The 'Lord Lord' scripture is thrown by the evangelicals to the Catholics and mormons. The pentecostals through it around. I dont that scripture was intended for denominations yo throw at each other. I believe Jesus was talking about people hearts. We can be the greatest miracle workers in His name. But if we're not doing them in love. .....he's not interested. I m not going to be ate because they just go on and on. And it's pointless. I will just say. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God. He came and shed his blood on the cross for us sinners. And if we repent and come into Him......we will be saved. He came to save sinners. Not denominations. And if this is not your Jesus, well, we have a problem Houston. God bless you all. I wont do anymore replies.

craig newsome okay assuming this is the last message between us I want to beg you to do honest research and your right we could go on forever but I think it’s important to point out that I can say the exact same thing you said about Jesus and it will mean a total different thing. We have the same terminology but different definitions I could go on to all the other things but to keep from sounding rude I will only address that one because you don’t want a argument. I hope at the very least you could see I came with good intentions and love. And I want to clarify the reason I comment on posts like this is because I do love everyone and I do care about Mormons and JWS and also muslims. I really care that people find the truth and not just what feels right. If a Muslim converts to Christianity their friends and family are required to kill them. And I have heard bad story’s where people start looking up things on both jws and Mormon faults and their family’s abandon them when they denied their prophets I will pray for you that you do more research on your profit and the Bible I pray that God opens your eyes to see the one true God who is eternal and while we were still Gods enemy Jesus died for us. God bless you. Don’t hesitate to reach out we can start a discussion without debating
