Top of dryer just pops up, no need to disassemble. Front where door is comes off easily via six screws. Thank you for taking the time to upload your dryer dismantling and for the comments adding to this!

Hello Dan, just want to thank you Sir for taking the time to record this diy project. our dryer had stop heating our clothes and had called around looking for a fair price on repairs. everyone was charging an outrageous amount, so after searching diy videos on how to replace Samsung dryer heating element your video was more thorough and accurate. long story short, we have a working dryer with plenty of heat. So thank you again Sir and many blessings.

Thought it was guna be the thermostat or element. Nope,my pulley wheel was melted and not on lol. Thanks a ton for the video mate!!!! I watched, solved my problem, and found a higher quality part. All in 90min. I paid 1/4 of what they wanted just to look at it, not even including parts and whatever their labor would be...really cant appreciate this little breakdown enough

Thanks for the video. Helped me a lot. This particular model is somewhat of a pain in the butt as the later models you can remove the support bracket for the heater box by undoing the front screw and pull the bracket forward to allow removing of the heater box/element. This model you have to the front drum carrier as the heater box bracket is secured in the back by two screws and you can't pull the heater box forward. This video helped as there's no way you can get those bracket screws out from the front and this way you don't need to take them out at all.

My same Samsung just took a dump at a year and 4 months. I didn't get an extended warranty which i will never do that again. I also had the same Fisher Pykel washer in the video. Although i did use my warranty a few times on that machine, it lasted 8+ hard pounding years, at a family of five, were talking three to four loads a week, and it washed great!

Thank you for this video! I couldn’t find a manual to locate the thermal fuse other than knowing it’s by the exhaust. My dryer won’t heat but it runs. I chose to replace the thermal fuse but if that doesn’t work I plan to replace the entire heating element. Wish me luck.
Just a word of advice ... I have the matching washing machine and I highly advise people use a knee high stocking on the drain hose to keep clogs from happening (change weekly) I had an issue with clogging and the hose being too far down in the P-trap.

Mine started squeaking yesterday. 2 months after the warranty expire. Can you give me a quick explanation of the idle roller and how you fixed it?
The squeaking seems to be coming from the lower-left - when facing the unit. Haven't opened it yet. Just found this video.

    • @pumm3l46
      @pumm3l46 7 років тому +1

That's exactly where the idler pulley is, I was able to verify that my pulley as the culprit by just spinning it with my hand and could hear the squeak, just go around and move all the movable parts like the drum rollers and anything that can move to see if you can narrow it down. The idler pulley is like a tensioner pulley on a car but it has a spring connected to it and keep the belt tight against the drum. I replaced the pulley only the first time I tried this repair and the squeak came back because I think the pulley shaft was also damaged and just wore the new pulley down so I found a samsung repair tech on a message board who told me that samsung has released a new idler pulley and bracket because of the high rate of failures on the one that's likely in yours and that was in mine. This is the new part # DC93-00634A for the pulley and bracket, it's really easy to replace once you get the dryer pulled apart. Just watch videos like this one and there are others specific to the idler pulley bracket.

Thank you so much for this video it really helped us out. Our dryer started to squeak quite loudly (got worse over time and then sounded REALLY high pitch and I couldn't convince my wife to ignore it anymore. This video helped my open up the unit and then I was able to access the four rollers and the Idler Pulley. I took the idler pulley apart and cleaned the shaft of the accumulated goo with alcohol. We then took some fine grit 400 sand paper and polished the shaft and clean the inside of the idler wheel. We repeated this on the four rollers too, two of the rollers were not rolling well two were ok. I used a Teflon Based bike chain lubricant and put that on all the shafts 2-3 drops and then spun the rollers back on. Assembled it back together and it's good as new. We also vacuumed and used the air compressor to clean it out while it was open so I'm sure the unit will be more efficient moving forward as well.
Thanks again, the picture of how to put the belt on the drum was most helpful

Dan ty for this it's the hard way to do it. But you did it. On mine I used a butter knife just under the top and pushed in the tabs and lift up at same time put a handle from another knife to hold it up .then repeat the other side the top is hinged .lift up take out 3 screws and remove front of dryer take out screw and unplug wires. Go to rear and remove duct remove the duct housing and pipe from inside . reach in and remove element housing from rear install is reverse no need to remove top or drum .took me 30 min. To do this whole thing not hard as you showed to do it

I am troubleshooting this same dryer. The reason I am watching this video is I could not figure out how to disconnect the wiring harness so I could remove the top cover. In your video, the person recording it, should have focused the camera on where/what you were disconnecting so those of us that have never done this would be able to follow. That was mainly what I needed to understand.

Samsung is a great company ---I know that their flat screen TV's are reliable as I've had the 55 inch LN55B650T1FXZA in my living room for 10 years without a problem. Everyone out there needs to understand that no matter how good the company is, there is no company that makes every product problem free. From my experience so far the TV's are pretty good, the refrigerators not so good, my daughter has one of the upper priced units and the Ice maker has broken twice in a year. The jury is still out on the washer and dryer as I have this model and the matching washer, I have noticed that the dryer drum makes noise like the weld or welds on the drum weren't smoothed out as the drum has a scrubbing noise for every revolution. It's under warranty and I'm sure I could fix it but it spends it's time downstairs so there's no one to complain enough about the noise for me to have to pull it apart to repair. I've noticed this problem with several different make dryers. What's going on today 2 or 3 different make dryers and everyone of them has a noisey drum. Did the engineers for these things cheat their way through college or what, the cure is very simple, so why don't they correct it before it leaves the factory ?

Hey Dan, thanks for the video. I'm having some issue removing the front. I've got th screws out of the top, but I'm having difficulty getting it off the brackets at the bottom. Any tricks?? Thanks!

Can the pulley that's attached to the motor be replaced or do you replace the whole motor.

You dont need to take the drum out to replace that

Not a heating element issue... mine is a noisy something rubbing in the back.. I can’t tell what’s causing it.. but now I can see how to take the drum off.

My video doesn’t show it but just take something flat and pop the two front corners of the lid up and the lid opens up.

The front of the lid pops up and swings back just like the hood on your vehicle. No tools required for that part.

Hello. i have a Model #DV45H7000EW/A2-0002 and my dryer wont start. I was told by samsung that i had to run a vent blockage test which a code of Cg or c9 which means that the exhaust cannot exhaust properly. My dryer is still under warranty but they told me that if its something due to maintenance that they will charge me. Now im not sure what falls under maintenance. all i did is chk that the hose is clean. Hope someone can enlighten me:)

Es C I’m having the exact problem. When you press start it does nothing. Did you ever get any help with this?

Thanks for this video. I would have taken way more screws out that I needed to.
