If u have the new model there are small differences that make it a bigger pain
The main one is there are screws on the bottom the other is on that bracket that he takes out at the 7:10 mark there are 4 screws that make it such a pain. but the video is great thanks.

that's the case for DV45H7200EW, yeah, it's the major pain comparing to the rest. thanks for the great video!

After my dryer stopped drying I was pissed off and clueless so searched YT and found your short video on the same model. It was concise and I laughed all the way through it! Your 14 minute vid changed everything. I ordered the $26.00 part from Amazon which came overnight and installed it via your great direction in a couple hours. It worked perfectly! You saved me a $300.00 or more repair that was several days out, or worse, a new dryer. Thanks! You ARE a rocket scientist!!

I haven't replaced one of these for over 10 years. Used to be pop the back off, swap the element, put the back on, and your were good to go. I would not have been able to replace the heating element without this video. Wouldn't have even occurred to me to take the front off and I doubt I would have been able to. Plus I love the swear words and Miller Lite is my favorite beer. Ill buy you a 12 pack with the money I saved. Great video

DUDE! You are THE MAN!!!! Although we have the same model, the back vent plate is not on my dryer. Also the support bracket that supports the heating coil has two screws in THE BACK instead of tabs. Those were fun putting back. Let me buy you a beer!!! Where you at?

  • @verybluesky
    @verybluesky 5 років тому +1

A million thanks for a superb video. I have the same dryer model and you saved me a ton of money. Only hassle I found was that the base that supports the heating element has two screws in addition to the metal tabs. I used a short stubby philips to get them out. Thanks again.

Great video. I called for repairs, thinking I was under warranty. Turns out they wanted $350 to fix it. I got the part for $30 with shipping and had it done 6 days sooner than they could show up.
Couple of things I found. The top pops up from the front with out having to undo the control housing. The wire to the door sensor pulls from plastic clips letting you remove the door further. Also, the metal tabs on the top door attachment bend up easily with a screw driver without all the banging. You made getting the vent trunk in place look too easy. That was my biggest fight.
Thank you for the continuity checks. That was extremely helpful. Over all, it was a four beer for me.

Thanks so much - bought the kit, ended up using the old casing because the new one is not formed right - but we are back in business - heard a few of the same 4-letter words - used lots of bandaids - sheet metal is sharp. Your instructions were right on the money. We're back in business - thanks again.

My wife showed me this vid and said my dryer isnt working and holy crap you were right! Coil went bad and I had a part and fixed it with in 2 days with this video. Thank you for the help and the advise on the beer! Definitely necessary for this project. Only thing I would add is in mine, I had to loosen the lower 3 screws on the lower front bracket for the white front panel in oder to seperate it from the main body. Thank you for the help great vid!!!!!!!!!!

Was cruising along until I tried to take the front off - it wasn't moving at all. Didn't want to admit it was because I am a girl so I fought with it for a good 30 minutes before tipping the dryer back and noticing that i had 3 screws underneath holding on some trim on the front. So if you are fighting with the front you might check to see if you have a black trim thingy on the bottom, once you remove that you are back in business.

Excellent walk-through. Saved $300 and did it in two days (as had to wait for Amazon to deliver the heating coil). One thing - my dryer had the red wire connected to the top coil lead vs. the bottom per your example. Not sure if it makes a difference but kept it like I found it and dryer works like a charm. Thanks tons!!!!

Sabastian! Greatest video even though I viewed several others when this problem occurred in my crappy little world. I was sure I could replace the parts but I have to admit my IGNORANCE of how to work a multimeter. I’ve never really had to use one now my brain is in overdrive! I was about to finish putting my unit back together and I heard your voice. It was very relieving! You sounded like me when I was a young airman wrestling B52 jet bombers! Every other word was a cuss! I felt young again. THANKS MAN! Sensitive eared people unnerve me for the most part. Way cool of you to really say what was bugging your world. Not your wife. I have one of those too! 😚I was immediately amused but behind my dryer in the laundry closet. It is not a room by no means😕. I finished and watched your whole video! Saving it as I speak! Now I’m 65 $#!t still breaks and we either pay too much for them to come out 4 times like my Samsung washer did. I wasn’t about to jack with that it was just two months old when it took a crap. I left that to my wife. She curses you out without saying anything vulgar. The last two repairmen decided to change everything they could think of after the first three repairmen came out they sent two people. It has been working good. Believe it or not I had a sears set that was working when she had to have this new pretty $#!t. I was mused watching her go off on the phone. LISTEN YOU HAVE A GREAT AND ABUNDANT LIFE. IT AINT EASY SOMETIMES!

Thanks for posting, solid instruction and my dryer is working. Sidebar - I had a hard time puling the plug out of the door switch and ended up stupidly opening the casing of the door switch and then messed up the terminals inside and had to buy a new door switch for $25. Make sure you pull this plug out straight and firmly.

Will the continuity readings still be accurate if the box isn’t completely removed from the machine? I was able to take all the wires off and do the test without removing the box. All three are showing continuity, but dryer is still not heating. Sigh.

    Great Vid One of the
Easiest repairs I have ever done
    BUT
After ordering Samsung Dryer Heating Element DC47-00019A (~20$)
I stretched the broken coil a little bit so the break in the coil wires were
over lapped. With a metal wire crimp I slid the crimp on the over lapped broken
coil wires and crushed the crimp with a pair of vice grips.
    Big Big Problems.
Installed my repaired heater and now I’m running a repaired Samsung dryer and have
a new Heating Element DC47-00019A (~20$) sitting on the shelf.
IMO this Heating Element repair will outlast my Samsung dryer and I will never
will use that new Heating Element DC47-00019A (~20$) part.
    Very Very Sad.

Thanks bud, exact same issue with my dryer. Once I popped her open and saw how simple a machine the dryer is I was like "No way am I paying someone to fix this, I can DIY this sumbitch".

FYI: Samsung Dryer DV40J3000EW/A2 HEATING ELEMENT HOUSING BRACKET HAS SCREWS IN THE BACK (NO MORE TABS) AND THE HEATING ELEMENT HOUSING HAS 1 ADDED SCREW ON TOP SECURING IT TO THE HOUSING TO THE BRACKET.

Great vid, but you took the door off in a way that did not work for me, I had to take the screws off behind the ones you wanted and then I lifted the door off the 3 hooks on the bottom. thanks! Oh ya, and I had screws on the damn bracket holding the heating elements, I just took off the one with a little metal bending, and just bent the bracket SOB down out of the way because no way would I get that rear screw back on. 1 beer job.

Good video, but what the hell caused the element to burn so quick? I watched this but have yet to tear into mine
