THANK YOU Justin! Your video just saved me from buying a new dryer. The new one was 799 plus tax, delivery and was 2 weeks out. Had a new element from Amazon for 33 dollars in 2 days and 2 hrs later I had a working dryer. Great feeling saving that much.

I thank God for the time you took to post this! I found your video in search of fixing my Samsung Electric Dryer. You were very thorough in explaining step by step how to change the heating coil and I felt completely certain that my husband and I could do it together. I ordered a multimeter and a heating coil on Amazon Saturday evening. It arrived Sunday evening and we installed it this morning (Monday). Hallelujah! It's a celebration 🍉🎉🎈. My dryer is working again and my determination to fix it was encouraged by your video + I'll be further encouraged in the future to fix a problem that arises.
    Blessings.

Thanks for posting! I watched a different UA-camr before tackling this. He had me pulling out the whole drum to get to the heating element, didn't show how to bend the tabs to lock it in place, didn't mention the wire shouldn't touch the coil, and said I had to remove the control panel before I could get the door out. I found your video after getting a DE error when all was done.

In June 2021, I watched this and decided to taackle the needed repair job myself, as the next service availability was a week away and we needed to wash and dry. The video was extremely helpful. My heater element indeed had a break and i got an original replacement for $100 or so, sincee I could get it that day. I only cut myself twice during the work. only had one plastic part leftover after the job, perhaps a wire holder. the lid does not hold down as tight as it used to though.

Thanks a million for this!! I have the exact same part number drier but for some reason the backside of the heater coil bracket is actually held down by 2 screws where yours was held down by the 2 tabs..stubby Phillips head got it unscrewed and got the job done in less than an hour. You rock!

Thank you so much for posting this video and walking through every step. Gave me the confidence to try this myself after Samsung moved my appointment three times. Helped me out tremendously and only spent $30 with Amazon instead of the $300+ Samsung service center quoted me. I also had the bracket with the screws in the back so thank you to those that commented about the difference and what you did to get to those. One thing i'm curious about, is the dryer supposed to be warm to the touch on the outside down where the heating element is? It's not HOT per say, I can hold my hand there when it's on medium heat, but it's a bit uncomfortably warm.

    • @becausestuffbreaks

It should feel warm from the outside but I'll have to check if it's uncomfortably warm next time I use it. There are thermal protection devices if it gets too hot.

Thank you for the video it was very helpful and made my job a whole lot easier. The only difference in mine was there were 2 screws on the back side of the part that was holding up the heating element. They were very difficult to get to, but we were able to get them out with some time. Putting the parts back together was easier than taking them out. All in all it took us about an hour to complete the entire project. Thank you again your video was extremely helpful.

I changed my element on June 24, 2021 using this video. FYI, some things have changed, now the housing for the element has a screw through to the bottom bracket, also, instead of having tabs on the bracket at the rear, there are two screws that screw to the bottom of the dryer. It can still be done, but you have to reach along side of the bracket to get to the back screws. Makes it a little harder to get out and back in.

Thanks Justin - It really helped me today replacing my heating element - I must have a newer model although it stated DVH7000EW/A2 as the base stand bracket that holds the heater element had 2 screws in the the back of the bracket - not just the front - WTF - So I seen a round disc on the right bottom side of the dryer and I knock it out with the hammer. Then reached in from the back and by just feel unscrew the 2 screws - Samsung idiot design - when I put it back together I put the 2 screws in the back in from the bottom of the dryer - Genius! Last time I did this it was on a Maytag and all I had to do is pull of the back off and the heater element was right there to change out - took 30 mins - Samsung took 2 hours - pain in the A??

Right now, mine's running for 3 minutes then dropping down to 1 minute and quickly shutting off. So, I plan Saturday to monkey around with it and see if I can figure it out. I looked at the Moisture Sensors (from your other video), but I don't see anything in there (e.g., a dryer sheet). Between 3 and 4 minutes: my bracket holding the heating element appears to have screws on the opposite side as well as the front. Anyone else experience this? I really don't want to have to remove the entire drum to get to it (my hands are a bit too big to get enough to undo them)

The burning smell is normal. Just like when you turn on a space heater after it has been sitting in the closet for the summer. The smell should quickly go away. If it smells like burning plastic/rubber then you have a problem.

It was a feedback contact in the motor that was stuck open and basically telling the control board that the motor wasn't running so then it wouldn't turn on the heating element. Had to replace the motor in this video: ua-cam.com/video/IAEK-B1TmKI/v-deo.html
