It teaches young black people, who may be absent of role models, how to behave and what they should and can aspire to be. Whilst Denzel and Samuel have perhaps contributed to this negative stereotype, the way they conduct themselves in their ‘real’ lives offsets this as they serve as an example of how black people can conduct themselves with honour and dignity whilst maintaining their authenticity and self respect. @@justdoit.86yearsago you absolutely have a point, though they can only take the roles available to them, and if they didn’t then they wouldn’t have a platform at all. The depiction of black people in the media, by and large, is extremely damaging to the black community in my opinion. Its a juxtaposition that arguably they have to propagate negative stereotypes in order to have the platform to be a positive role model, but they didn’t make the rules of the game, they’re just playing the cards they were dealt as best they can.

What he did was a punk move. He walked up to Chris on camera and slapped him when Chris knew there were alot of eyes and stakes on that moment. I'm sorry, but if that were a less understanding comedian on that stage, Will would've gotten jaw jacked. There's no way you're gonna slap me on stage and walk back to your seat in the same condition you left it. We would've been moving some furniture around and working that shit out on camera.. Jada definitely hyped him up to do that, based on the way she looked at him after the joke.. However, that slap wasn't for that joke, it was a statement and an emotional response for what he failed to do following the August Alsina and Tupac situation. He was dragged for months, while Jada got high ratings for that talk show and a movie role. That red table talk was supposed to be damage control and they didn't get the approval they wanted. The irony is that no one would have known about your personal business if you didn't constantly put it out there for 9 months straight. I hope his thin skinned ass gets dragged even more for that... The "devil" definitely came for you and it's the woman sitting next to you.

❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️❗️
How did Will protect the actresses in his movie.
And what exactly did he protect them from?
Exactly....it’s not life, it’s a movie !
He didnt
You can tell how overwhelmed he was with the realization he took that moment from everyone else and from the movie and all anyone’s gonna remember is him slapping Chris
The way Will defended himself by saying that u have to put up with and tolerate all the crazy things being said about you. Well thats what being a public figure means. We see so many celebrities putting the personal lives out there to get more attention and fame. Whether its justin selena talking openly about their breakup or taylor swift writing songs about her exes. It definitely helps them in their career. If u r a famous celeb, u will always be under radar whether u like it or not. You have to tolerate it
This man won an Academy Award right after falcon smacking the shxt out somebody on Prime Time TV, then gave a whole acceptance speech. What makes it even more hilarious, is everybody in the venue is acting like shxt is normal. 😂
A legend in his own mind.

To love people? How you showed loved to chris rock? Cmon bro just say you defended her and thats it lol you definetly not showing love there more like hate
It's sad when a person torpedoes himself in such a public way.
On the other hand, we as a country, need to stop deifying people we don't know in a real way.
There's a reason very famous performers (and politicians) surround themselves with publicists and handlers. It's all smoke and mirrors friends...
We as a country need to get our sense of humor back!
As a society we need to realize we are not perfect. None of us. I’ve seen this kind of outburst a few times. Usually from from who either had a recent experience that put them on edge or they are deeply passionate of the things that lead them to being offended. Not something you can really judge their character on. Especially if it’s only one incident. But then again, we don’t know what doesn’t go public.
Wtf is this thread? It's not that deep guys. Will Smith slapped someone because he's not capable of controlling his anger. No need to bring "the country" or "society" into this lol
@@alexr6292 I don't think you're reading that right.

Will now come on now, now you know you done fucked up you can't just go on up talking about God calling you to love. I really do think he shouldn't have received this, nor he should have just gone about. He should be charged.
God wouldn’t call you to punch someone he would ask you to be slow to anger just saying🤷🏻♀️ I’m so shocked he did what he did

Those were not real tears, right now you're just seeing a really good performance from a really good actor. If he really felt bad he would have apologized to Chris right then and there
I disagree. His emotions are spilling. Listen to what he's saying.
@@xJaaku Instead of listening to what he says watch his face. When people get emotional or mouths produce more saliva. People tend to start swallowing more licking their lips sniffling more. Anybody can fake cry. I always have liked Will Smith, but hes a Cuck without a sense of humor.
If Amber Heard taught us anything, Chris Rock was not punched, he was hit. Smith was not punching Rock. He hit him… with a slap. Grow up Johnny(Chris), you’re such a baby.

Who started it tho yea stfu
Ummm no
An eye for an eye, you hurt me I hurt you.
I would have refused the award. Let Serena or Venus have it. And boycotted the Oscars just like Jada did. Don’t we all understand that they let Chris drop a joke like that to passive-aggressively punish her for her boycott years earlier?? Come on man
All this is coming from JADA's BULLSHIT. All this crying and stuff.. And he takes it OUT ON CHRIS ROCK .. ARE YOU CRAZY!!!

@@earnestinecole4030 lol what are you talking about??
Gotta applaud Chris Rock for how he handled it. Thankfully for everyone else, Chris was in a vastly more stable emotional state at that moment. Dude deserves his own award.
But I agree. It really tarnished a triumph that he worked so hard to earn. It's very unfortunate that, whatever was going on for him, he chose to express it like that. Chris Rock could've delivered that joke much more gently without losing an ounce of its "comedy". Could have prefaced it with something about how Jada looked beautiful tonight, and really so did Demi Moore in G.I. Jane... Can't wait for the sequel. It relieves the insult, which Jada did not deserve.
@@jleezy612 ok finally I found someone who feels the same as I do. My heart hurts for Will. I’ve been a fan of his since he began. Her torture has ruined him. He gave his speech through tears because he felt disappointed in himself; like he was the opposite of what he had written in his speech because of what just happened with Chris. In my opinion.
Can you imagine, if a white person would insult Rock on the stage like Will did? Man, 3WW would come not from Russia...
Jada perpetuated the whole thing and Will took the bait. He stood up there and his speech says how he protects everything but his image apparently.
Sorry, but I feel Will Smith was totally disingenuous. He can be seen laughing at that joke until he sees her reaction, so it is hardly the case that the joke was "too much for him to bear". And then the apology during his acceptance speech was so self-serving, ending it with his hope that the Academy would invite him back. His partying after the ceremonies showed no signs of remorse. And his final Twitter apology looks totally crafted by lawyers and PR consultants. And it was truly a case of celebrity immunity that he wasn't escorted out of the theater and arrested for assault, which is what would happen if you or I did that in a comedy club.
Denzel was like, uhh... " you the devil of your own making.... ".
Will crying caUse he's going to go home and have to deal with Jada and six hour long talks.
No, Denzel was like "tiiiiime is on my side, yes it is..." , if you haven't seen his movies you won't understand...
That man is hurting. I hope he gets out of his toxic marriage.
Wow. Will Smith's slap even ruined The Pulp Fiction reunion - that we will never see again.
Absolutely ridiculous! Amazing he could deliver such a speech after the hit...very impressive!
I really like will smith. He's a good actor and he seems like a good person. I'm really happy he won this award and his speech does seem heart felt. His emotions seem genuine. I dont know if it's from everything that happened, winning, all that pent up anger or what but it's really sad that his first oscar win, such a big accomplishment, is now being tainted by his aggression and anger and asault of Chris Rock.
Good people do not laugh at a joke, then jump up ND commit such violence
Awesome take
Don't get it twisted. He tainted HIS OWN award by assaulting Chris Rock and there's nothing sad about that. He could have reacted in so many different ways, and we shouldn't feel sorry for anyone who jumps to violence at the first sign of conflict.
@@alexr6292 Facts!! 💯 💯
@@alexr6292 you're right and I agree. I just think it's sad because everyone should be happy that will smith finally won an Oscar and that's what everyone should be talking about, but since he assaulted Chris Rock he ruined his own moment. Now everyone's questioning if he even deserves the award and this wouldn't have happened if he just kept himself in check.
He got to protect? What protection is he talking about? What danger were these actresses in? He’s a river to his people? What does that even mean? A vessel for love? Who believes that? Treacle I think is an apt description of his speech.
It's either his ego is too big or whatever. That joke wasn't even that bad.
It was ALL EGO. I've always seen him as EGO driven and its okay. It is what it is. Remember when Jada wanted a small wedding and he wanted this huge extravaganza. He still struggling with something within. We still love him though!!!
